The 2013 British Touring Car Championship

We are now nearly half way through 2013, in fact if you stop and blink a few times you”ll probably find out it”s Christmas already!

The dates and details for the 2013 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) from July onwards are now available and we thought you might like to know them.

This year”s championship has already kicked off back in March and will run through to October – the final race will also be at Brandshatch on 13th October.

The 2013 championship will pretty much follow last year”s format with the 2013 BTCC calendar to run as follows :

  • 4th August at Snetterton Motor Racing Circuit, Norfolk, England
  • 25th August at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Fife, Scotland
  • 15th September at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Northhamptionshire, England
  • 29th September Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, England
  • 13th October at Brands Hatch, Kent, England

As expected, ITV will be on hand to screen all ten races on the ITV 4 channel. It seems that the action is likely to be shown in 9 other countries.

The 2013 BTCC season will be the third season to feature cars conforming to the New Generation Touring Car (NGTC) specification.  In fact, 2013 represents the final year of transition from the Super 2000 specification.  Never-the-less, this season teams can race with either chassis build, however of course the NGTC spec will dominate the line-up, given that it has a significant performance advantage.

That said, there is the S2000 trophy up for grabs by only 3 drivers.

Pre-season, there has been the usual movements between teams but with some notable changes for the Beaucoup une variete de casino en ligne sare sur les questions foncieres et ont egalement pris leurs jeux sur le web. 2013 BTCC.

BTC Racing is back in the BTCC after a four year break.  Driver Chris Stockton will be making his return for the BTC team, also racing an NGTC spec Chevrolet Cruz.

Tom Onslow-Cole has made the switch from the eBay Motors team to join Team HARD, he will be racing in the NCTC VW CC in 2013. In 2013, Team HARD will expand to a five car team.

As a result, Colin Turkington, who won the BTCC in 2009 will make a return to the championship as one of three drivers for the eBay Motors team in a NGTC BMW 125i M Sport.

There are no changes at Honda, with drivers Gordon Shedden and Matt Kneale as they will again look to retain the championship.

We”ll be keeping you posted on the ten BTCC races, so keep reading the Trade Classics blog.
