Henrik is a petrol head – and we don’t say that lightly, he has an undisclosed amount of cars from all different eras and makers. Henrik bought this particular car around three years ago, however he has done very few miles given all the other cars he owns. Henrik is a shy guy though and we couldn’t persuade him to appear on camera – however, as we know him personally here at Trade Classics, we specially agreed to give him a pass from our videos. Henrik is available to talk to directly and will make time to show you the car personally, if you do decide you want to see it.
Henrik loves fast Fords and he bought this car as a project and subsequently instructed the renowned Field Motorsport to rebuild the car to Henrik’s specification. Field Motorsport are true specialists as they also prepare cars for WRC – so you can be rest assured this build has been done properly.
The total cost to Henrik (including the purchase cost) is circa £45k. This was a personal project and of course he’s spent a lot of money that a new owner will benefit from. The only reason Henrik is now selling is due to moving out to Spain later this year, and there is no room for all his collection, so unfortunately this is another car that has to be sold.

This is a proper head-turner of a car – there’s certainly no blending in with this one. It’s striking from its lines, colours and the quality of build. Please make sure you take a look at all the images and videos in this listing – you won’t be disappointed in the quality of this unique car.
Wheels & Tyres
The car is fitted with excellent condition wheels and wrapped in a set of 195/65/14 tyres – there are a few very small marks on the rims, so please take a look at the images and videos to see the full condition.
As you would expect due to the recent restoration, the car looks excellent both in terms of rust and rot upon our usual visual inspection – we didn’t see any signs of either on our visit. The car went through a full restoration (bare metal / windows out) over the last three years. Please check out the images and videos to see the detailed condition of each body panel.
The orange paint is absolutely stunning and is in excellent condition – it’s even across the panels and we didn’t notice any colour differences. The finish is of a really high standard. There are a few small marks to note that you’ll see in the videos / images: just a small mark on the NSR wing that has been pointed out in the videos.
Glass and Trim
Both are in excellent condition across the car – you’ll notice the original window rubbers have been put back after the restoration and these are showing signs of age, as can been seen in the images and videos.
The interior is in good overall condition. It will further benefit from a little tidying up to bring up to a really good standard. Please take a moment to view the interior video to see the full condition.
Seats and Carpets
Both the sports seats and carpets are in good condition. There were no rips or issues noticed during our inspection. The front door cards are in good condition, however, there are some marks on the rear panels that can be seen in the images. Henrik also had rear seat belts fitted so that he could take his children out in the car too.
The gauges and interior are in good condition – you’ll see auxiliary switches and panels have been fitted. You’ll also see some marks on the dashboard and dash fascia.
Steering Wheel / Gear Stick / Other
Both steering wheel and gear stick are in good condition with no issues noticed. The headlining is in original condition with one small tear that can be seen in the images.
Field Motorsport have actioned most of the important work to this car. Henrik also worked with a local garage to fit the seat belts, new leaf springs, door locks and mirrors. As mentioned, Henrik took Jacob out for a short drive on some London roads and the car performed without issue.
Engine and Gearbox
Henrik had Field Motorsport fit a Ford Focus 2.0L engine and fitted it with twin Webber carburetors. The car started first go from cold – (see the cold start video). The engine soon settled into a smooth tick over. The car now pushes out between 200 and 220 BHP and is ready to be used and enjoyed. The gearbox was also swapped out by Field Motorsport to a short shift type with straight cut gears on 1,2 and 3 (creating an awesome sound). Talking about awesome sounds, a sports exhaust has also been fitted.
Suspension and Brakes
Field Motorsport also worked on the suspension, basically they swapped it out for a sports suspension to match the power of the new engine. They also installed a LSD on the rear too. Henrik originally had racing pads fitted, however, they were rock hard and not suitable for road driving, so he has since fitted softer pads for everyday driving. Please watch the video to see the car accelerating, steering and stopping. It preformed just as you’d expect it to.
The car really drives great and there were no issues detected on the drive.
Electrics and Other
There are very few electrics on the car, however, Henrik informs us the basics all work as they should.

Henrik has the invoices for the restoration work that he is trying to locate. Once we have them then we’ll upload to the image file. As mentioned, the total cost is circa £45k, this includes the original purchase, all the work carried out and bare metal respray.

This is a very unique car and if you’re reading our summary way down here then you’ll already be interested and probably a ‘Fast Ford’ kind of person.
If you’ve ever considered building a ‘fast road’ MKI of your own then you should seriously consider this car, as it will save you a lot of money – Henrik is realistic on the pricing and knows he’s put too much money in the car. He isn’t worried about that as it was never an investment car, it was a passion car.
So now it’s time to find a new owner that can further improve the car and have something very special in the garage that’s ready to use on the weekends.
Henrik has priced this car very competitively as he knows the current market and needs to sell before his imminent move to Spain.
