Recent Buyer Review – Eamonn McParland on 11th May “From my first general enquiry through to the purchase of my very own MGA, Adam and the team at Trade Classics were quite simply, awesome.  I fully recommend Trade Classics without hesitation nor reservation to everyone who is seeking a classic car.  A brilliant business model, supported by a really neat and usable website though ultimately managed by a great group of professional, sincere and trustworthy people”. THE CAR & EDDIE

Owned by Eddie since 1991, this Fuego Turbo has been well looked after and cherished.

Eddie first saw a Fuego on the street in the 80’s and he fell in love with them there and then. When he got the chance, he bought a blue TS variant, and then later a red GTS version too. He also has a 2.0L GTX, he knows his Fuego’s.

This Turbo he has cared for, only used in the summers, and garaged at all times. To use his own words “I try to keep it out of the water”, and this shows in the condition. He even has a report written by a local paper about him and the car when he showed it at a classic car show.

He’s really enjoyed the car, taking it to classic car shows etc, but now the time has come to sell the car as he doesn’t have as much time for the car these days.

EXTERIOR

Finished in silver, and adorned with the Turbo decals and badging across the car, a lovely example.

Wheels & Tyres
BBS 14″ wheels, they look in great condition along with the tyres. Take a look at the video for a detailed view.

Bodywork
The bodywork on this car is really good, and a reflection of how Eddie has taken care of the car since 1991. Shut-lines and panel gaps look correct, take a look at the images for the detail.

Paint
The silver paint looks even in colour and finish across all of the car. There are lots of decals and stripes that are very 80’s French car design, and they really give the car character. Watch the extensive exterior video review for details.

Glass and Trim
All look in good condition, a reflection of the car having been garaged and kept out of the rain for so long.

INTERIOR

Finished in striped cloth of black and red stripes, with figure hugging seats, this must have been quite a high-tech feeling interior for the time.

Seats and Carpets
The deep bolstered seats look great, and the carpets not tired either. Take a look at the video review for a detailed perspective.

Dashboard
This is really something quite different, lots of dials and instruments to inform you about the car, they look really great. See the images for the details.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
A quite futuristic looking steering wheel, and a very nice gear stick and knob with clear gear position indicators on it. View the video review to see how they look for yourself.

MECHANICS

Eddie took us on a drive along the local roads where he lives, to show us what this car is made of.

Engine and Gearbox
The car started from cold, choke on as you would expect until the car gets up to temperature. On the drive, the car went in to all the gears with ease. Watch the video to see for yourself.

Suspension and Brakes
On the drive the car performed well, no knocks or rattles etc observed, just a little wind noise present. Take a look at the video.

The Drive
Through some local villages and country lanes, Eddie took us on a short trip and got the car through the gears and the turbo spooled up too.

Electrics and Other
Eddie has told us that all electrics are working like they should do.

HISTORY

Eddie has a real history with Fuego’s, having owned a number of the years, and this one since 1991. There are lots of papers etc included with the car, everything photographed as per our usual process.

The car is showing just over 53,200 miles as of 03.07.2019.

HPi Check Results
– The seller tells us the car is HPi clear and will be supported by our own HPi check.

Mileage Records – MOT
– 12.06.1991 – 49,075 miles
– 26.05.2010 – 50,413 miles
– 28.06.2011 – 51,406 miles
– 27.07.2018 – 53,074 miles
– 19.06.2019 – 53,243 miles

OUR SUMMARY

Featured first in the James Bond film “A View To A Kill”, and 2 Pierce Brosnan films thereafter, the Fuego Turbo is both a rare and famous car.

Undoubtedly a French designed car of era, it was these looks that first attracted the seller Eddie to the Fuego. He bought this car in effect as a show car, only used in dry weather and garaged since owning the car in 1991. We think you’d be hard pressed to find a better condition Fuego Turbo than this one.

Hello, I am a previous owner of a 1985 fuego 2.2 for 20 years that I have restored for car shows here in Delaware US and have won some 1st,2nd and third place trophies against American cars. I would like to know if Eddie of this 1985 turbo would like to have a couple pictures of mine and also my car show experiences with and comments. Of course, I was the only one with one at a car show and the only one buying fuego parts on ebay also. I have alot of car stories to tell him and I… Read more »
