We thought that you might like to read about some Easter classic car events which will be taking place rain or shine. Of course, Easter is a little earlier this year, so whilst we can”t guarantee good weather, we shall keep our fingers firmly crossed!
Here”s our pick of a few classic car events for the last weekend of March 2013 :
Head down to the Old Warden Aerodrome in Bedfordshire for a Classic Rally and Auto Jumble event. Taking place on Easter Sunday, there should be lots of classic cars to catch your eye. Other than that, there”s a play area for the kids and an autojumble. If you want to clear some space in the garage then why not book a trunk trade plot for £10. This looks like it”s got something for everyone, so head over there between 10am and 4pm on Easter Sunday.
If you”d like more information on this event, see the Gemini Events website here www.classicmotorshows.co.uk/shows.html
Weston Park on Shropshire will host the 25th Midland Festival of Transport this Easter Weekend. It”s a big event, so you can expect a lot to be going on, such as the autojumble, trade stand and arena events. You should see masses of classic cars at Weston Park this year, as the organisers expect to feature over 1,500 cars. There is loads for the kids to do too, given that there will also be a fun fair on site. This event is on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
See the website for extra details, and a form if you want to enter your classic car in the show http://www.transtarpromotions.co.uk.
If you are in the Yorkshire area, why not go over to Hull for the Easter Bash American Rod and Custom Show, which will be held at Fort Paull? It”s on all weekend, with events such as a disco on Saturday night (30th March). But the main show will take place on Easter Sunday, with a car show which will feature mainly classic American cars.
If you are in Cornwall, the Tamar Historic Vehicle Club will be hosting an auto jumble in Callington. It will be at Duchy College in Stoke Climsland this Good Friday.
And in Devon; the Devon Vintage Car Club will also be hosting an autojumble – in aid of the Parkinsons disease charity. This will take place at Hatherliegh Cattle Market near Okehampton. It”s for a great cause.
Unusually, this year we will be putting our clocks forward this Easter weekend in preparation for British Summer Time (BST). So if you plan to head to one of these classic car events this Easter Sunday then you may lose an hour in bed, but you”ll be able to enjoy an extra hour of daylight at the event!
If you know of another classic car event this Easter, sorry that we haven”t included it. But please get in touch and tell us all about it…
