Honda's most exciting car to date, with its combination of a petrol engine and electric motors powered through four-wheel drive, the NSX is very hard to pin down.

The NSX is back as a hybrid supercar and is the flagship model for Honda. It was first launched in the '90s as a delicate sports car to rival the 911 of the time, this new variant crams in much more technological enhancements to create a near 200MPH supercar.

The car was first revealed in concept form in 2012, and later in 2016 was available in the UK. It packs a swift ninja-like punch with its mid-mounted V6 petrol engine, twin-turbos, and electrical assistances with AWD to produce 573BHP. Arguably a modest figure but the performance this supercar can deliver is belies the figures, 191MPH and acceleration from 0-62mph in 2.9s if you put your foot down far enough.

Coming to market from the original owner, it's only covered ~460 miles in ~5.5 years. Tucked away in professional storage, this car is the ideal candidate for a collector with the immaculate condition coming from the ultra low ~460 miles it's travelled. An added bonus with this car is it is VAT qualifying for eligible purchasers.

Meet the owner

I was complimenting a Lamborghini or Aston Martin, but after my eye landed on this Valencia Red NSX I was very intrigued.

Mike was on the search for a unique supercar, something that he could keep for the long term as an investment. Sadly due to ill health, he was not able to use it as much as he was hoping, and since ownership has stored the car in his temperature-controlled garage for safekeeping.

Exterior

Exciting to drive and look at, a much more purposeful and modern take on the NSX, these cars look fast even when sitting still.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with NSX alloys, 19" at the front and 20"s at the rear, the car glides along the roads turning heads wherever it goes.

The alloy design is very intricate and detailed, the chrome work is bright, and as you would expect for a car still on delivery mileage. Both the wheels and Continental tyres appear in showroom condition. The design of the wheels helps to show off the carbon ceramic discs, serious stopping power.

Bodywork

Intricate details on this modern design make it something very special. Not just for good looks, the NSX has been aerodynamically designed to slice through the air like a samurai sword.

All the shut-lines and panel gaps look factory fresh, with no signs or damage or details to point out. Just as you would expect for a car that has been garaged since 2017.

Paint

An optional extra, Valencia Red Pearl (Andaro) costing £4,800 from the factory, and a well worth it upgrade. The colour is one of the best options for the NSX (in our opinion) and the finish is deep in colour and lustre, as can be seen within the photographs.

The paint is in excellent condition with no noticeable stone chips to the car. Take a look through the extensive media to see the paint up close.

Glass and Trim

The glass is all in excellent condition, with no obvious scratches or chips which we could see at the time of our visit.

The trims and seals are all as you would expect - excellent.

Interior

Touch screen nav, fully kitted out infotainment, soft leather trim, and an impressive LES nine-speaker hi-fi, what more could you want within a super car.

Seats and Carpets

Soft-touch, full leather, powered, and heated seats await to comfort you within the cabin.

As you would expect from a car with ~300 miles on the clock, the seats, carpets, door cards, and headlining look like they would if it was in the Honda showroom.

Dashboard

The interior surfaces have been designed to give more support when driving hard. The dashboard and digital displays appear in excellent condition and offer the driver all the information and entertainment they could ever want.

The A-pillars have been designed to be thinner and less obstructive than in other modern cars, using a rectangular steel tube design called the 3DQ resulting in the pillars measuring 89mm compared to the standard 124mm width.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in excellent condition with no signs of wear and is trimmed in matching leather to the seats and dashboard.

The wheel is fitted with multifunction buttons and aluminium shift paddles.

The rotating gear selector is in excellent order with no noticeable marks to mention.

Mechanics

A nine-speed twin-clutch coupled to a twin-turbo V6 with three electric motors generating a max output of 573BHP.

Engine and Gearbox

The twin-turbo V6 provides the majority of the power, putting out 500BHP. The direct-drive electric motor generates an additional 47BHP at 3000RPM. Finally, a twin-motor unit on the front axle, whereby each motor puts out 36BHP at 4000RPM means the combined maximum output of the car is 573BHP.

The car is reported to drive really well and changes through the nine-speed automatic gearbox nice and smoothly, as you would expect. It's just been serviced by the Honda main dealer, it really is ready for someone to put it through its paces.

Suspension and Brakes

As reported by the motoring press the NSX is extremely capable and reassuring on the track, making it easy to carry lots of speed through the corners and onto the straights without loss any loss of traction.

The suspension and brakes are reported to be fully operational, just as you would expect for very little use. Carbon ceramic discs on this example, for maximum braking power and efficiency.

The Drive

The new Honda NSX combines two turbochargers, three electric motors, four driven wheels, six cylinders and nine forward hears to produce one hell of a performance supercar. Mike purchased the car to use on his European road trips, but due to ill health and the pandemic has not been able to make that a reality.

Electrics and Other

Filled to the brim with functionality, the NSX is equipped with everything you'd ever need and want. Mike reports everything in the car is reported to be working just as it should.

The car is fitted with a 9-speaker LES set-up and intuitive infotainment system.

History and Paperwork

A bonafide supercar, ultra low miles, UK delivered and coming to market from the original owner.

With the car practically having just delivery mileage, it has only had four services in the past, the most recent being March 2023, and three MOTs. There are two keys are present along with V5, which shows no previous keepers. This car is VAT qualifying making it an interesting prospect for overseas buyers and collectors who are able to claim the 20% VAT back.
