A hand-crafted V8 sports car with excellent agility, very usable and at an affordable price.

Exclusivity and devastating performance have traditionally been Aston Martin's attributes, but with the brand’s shift into the modern age, the Vantage also brought in a whole new set of dimensions to further the brand's appeal. As a result, it became one of the best-selling Aston Martins of all time. Originally unveiled as a concept car in 2003, the car attracted plenty of positive feedback, which led to the release of the Vantage in 2005. The elegant-styled aluminium bonded front-mid mounted GT sports car was sold with both V8 and V12 options. Accolades soon followed, which eventually resulted in further evolutions and the development of the vehicle.

Aston Martin produced 24 variants of the Vantage over its course of production, one of which was the Vantage V8 Coupe. Known as the baby Aston, the V8 vantage was launched in competition with the Porsche 911, priced at around ~£80,000 and powered by the wonderful 4.3 litre V8, the ‘baby Aston’ was heading to cause a stir in the sports car market.

This extremely low mileage 2006 Vantage comes with an excellent main dealer history and also has the benefit of having a new clutch fitted in 2022.

Meet the owner

The V8 Vantage has been a dream car for Daniel since the age of eight.

The Aston Martin Vantage has been one of Daniel’s dream cars to own since the age of eight and owning a toy one. After being in a position to purchase one, Daniel searched long and hard to find a suitable car. His preference for the Aston was that it had to be black, have low mileage and an excellent history. He did manage to find this lovely 2006 model in the right colour, and with just over 20,000 miles covered, it was the perfect car.

With nearly 12 months of ownership behind him, the Aston hasn’t been getting the use it deserves and has spent more time in storage rather than being used due to working away from home. This is why Daniel has decided to part with it, as he feels it's not doing the car any favours having such little use.

Onyx Black Metallic shows off the lines of the V8 Vantage to its full potential.

Wheels and Tyres

The 18” ten-spoke alloy wheels are in excellent condition, with no scuffs or damage. Also, the centre caps are in very good condition, usually a common area to see some water ingress.

The tyres are a matching set of Bridgestone Potenza and have a good amount of tread remaining.

Bodywork

The bodywork on the Aston is in excellent condition. There are no dings or dents to mention, and the shut lines are all equal. It is also worth mentioning the underside, which is very clean, showing off the aluminium floor pan.

Paint

Finished in Onyx Black Metallic, the paintwork is excellent. There are some very minor age-related stone chips, and we did spot three small blisters on the edge of the driver-side wing, where it meets the bonnet. However, with that said, the paintwork has a nice finish with minimal swirl marks.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass is all in excellent condition, with no apparent scratches or chips which we could see at the time of our visit. The trims and seals are the same, matching the rest of the vehicle.

The headlights are in good condition with no chips to the lenses. Daniel has had the rear lights replaced with some from a facelift model, giving a cleaner look to the rear end.

Interior

A timeless Black on Black was the colour choice for this particular Vantage V8.

Seats and Carpets

Finished in Obsidian Black leather, the seats in the Aston are in excellent condition, thanks to such low mileage, and the door cards are also free from any scuffs.

The carpets are in good order, with just a few light marks on the driver’s heel pad area to mention. Inside the boot, the warning triangle and tyre compressor are present, along with the Satellite navigation CD.

Dashboard

The dashboard is finished in Obsidian Black leather with white stitching to match the seats, and this is free from any damage. The centre section has a piano black finish which is free from any noticeable scratches, and the satellite navigation screen pops up as it should.

The instruments are working as they should, with the odometer displaying a reading of just ~23,451 miles, and no warning lights displayed with the engine running. There is a message saying the car is due for a service, but Daniel will be taking the car in for a service before the auction ends.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is in good condition with no signs of excessive wear. The buttons are the same, with no signs of heavy use, and the leather gearknob is in good condition with minimal wear.

Mechanics

With 380 horses just itching to go - the fantastic 4.3 litre V8 is pure fun, especially when coupled with the smooth six-speed manual gearbox.

Engine and Gearbox

Ignition on… check, push the start button….. and it's away; the engine fires up to provide the unmistakable burble that comes from a V8. No untoward noises are coming from the engine bay, and everything appears to be in good order with no visible leaks.

The six-speed manual gearbox is nice and smooth on every change, and there are no noises from the transmission.

Suspension and Brakes

The stance of the Aston looks just right. On the road, the ride is firm like you would expect, with no knocks or bangs coming from either corner.

Daniel reports the brakes were checked over and new pads fitted before he purchased the car. Having not covered many miles, these are still expected to be in good order.

The Drive

The coupé is undoubtedly an awesome-looking car which is easily recognisable. Driving the Vantage V8 is just as Aston intended, and the car gives a positive feel with plenty of feedback coming through the steering wheel. The manual gearbox is a nice change from automatic, and some say it feels like more of a driver's car.

Electrics and Other

Daniel reports everything in the car works just as it should, and the switchgear is all in good condition with no signs of wear.

History and Paperwork

With just ~23,451 miles covered, the Aston has still been given eight services - which will be taken to nine before the auction ends.

The instruction and service book is present and shows eight service stamps and five anti-corrosion checks carried out. Just four previous keepers have had the pleasure, and the car comes with two keys.

We will mention this again because it’s a nice bonus for the new custodian. Daniel will have the car serviced before the auction ends, ensuring it is ready for its new home.
