The Mini was a lesson in creating an innovative, affordable car with a focus on fun and usability. The Clubman amplifies that usability with much larger loading space.

This particular Mini Clubman has been owned and meticulously kept by James for the previous 11 years, after a lot of thought, he has made the difficult decision to sell.

Meet the owner

Coming out of long ownership, James has made the tough decision to sell his Clubman estate and is looking for a likeminded fan to enjoy the car as much as he has.

James has been the proud and meticulous owner of this iconic car for the previous 11 years. Over that time he has given the car all the attention it deserves and more.

Finished in red with bronze pinstripes, this 2 door estate definitely looks the part and runs exceptionally well too - passing every MOT without advisories for the previous 10 years.

Over James ownership, he has done very little mileage in the car but has always had a lot of fun when he gets to finally gets to enjoy it on the winding Scottish roads. He's maintained and carried out some choice upgrades to the car like converting to run correctly on unleaded, and attending to any work on the drive needed.

Exterior

Practicality added without the expense of the original cute and fun styling.

Wheels and Tyres

Small yet mighty 10" wheels drive this go-cart estate around. Equipped with period-correct Dayton rubber - the large sidewalls offer extra comfort on any terrain.

The wheels look in good condition and in line with their age and mileage - each wheel has a locking wheel nut.

The rubber also looks in good condition with lots of grip and tread for the new owner. Please take a look at the images for a closer look.

Bodywork

We really like the look of the bodywork on this car, all the seals look in excellent condition each door closing correctly without additional pressure needed.

We didn't notice any rust on the bodywork when the car was consigned, a testament to the maintenance and storing the car correctly over the years. All the shut lines look correct and tight. An excellent example, meticulous owned over its life. Please take a look at the exterior images to really appreciate this Mini's bodywork.

Paint

Finished in "Ember Glow Red", this car really pops. The paint is even in finish and coat across each panel and really glistens from every angle.

When getting really close to the bonnet we noticed a few areas of touch up paint that had a slightly darker shade of red - however, you'll have to get really close to see them. Also, a little wear around the back door catches, when you open them. Otherwise a really lovely example that really does shine. Watch the video review to see the car from all angles.

Glass and Trim

The glass and trim on this car look excellent, every panel looks free from damage or wear and the rubber seals look great too.

The chrome trim and door handles really shine.

Interior

Room for 5 and everyone's luggage - not something you'd expect from an original Mini.

Seats and Carpets

The door cards and seats are finished in a sand leatherette, with check inners, offering a real period style in this 2 door estate.

As you would expect, inside this Clubman its exceptional. Excellently maintained interior which nicely aligns with it's low mileage.

Dashboard

The classic and original, Mini dials are present and James reports all are working as they should.

The gauges and dials are all clearly visible without any sign of degrading.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A small and sporty, aftermarket steering wheel is fitted in this particular example. The original gearstick is still present.

Both look in excellent condition and put you in full control of the nippy estate.

Mechanics

A mighty 998cc of engine at your dispense - it might not be the quickest, but it's so much fun to drive and easy to maintain.

Engine and Gearbox

Powered by a 998cc engine this little lightweight estate will take on any job you throw at it.

It also features a four-speed manual gearbox which has been very well kept and always serviced by James himself for the previous 11 years.

James reports everything is working as it should, and that the head has been converted to run on unleaded fuel correctly. After being garaged all winter all it required was a new battery.

Suspension and Brakes

One of the most defining aspects of the Mini is its rubber-cone suspension system, which requires very little maintenance. James has replaced these in his ownership, as well as any other bushes that needed attention.

James has always given the brakes and suspension the attention it needs. Please take a look at the long list of part receipts in the paperwork section.

The Drive

Fun and enjoyable! James loves driving this car, "Especially on the occasional sunny day. I've not used the car an awful lot, but when I do it's always a trip to remember. It's extremely fun and makes you feel free like you're 17 again".

Electrics and Other

Basic and simple electrics are installed in the cabin.

James replaced the heater with a later two speed type which has wider vent hoses and gives much better demisting capabilities. An aftermarket modern radio is also fitted.

History and Paperwork

A low mileage meticulously kept example, coming out of long ownership makes this one of the best Clubman HL Estates on sale.

Over James long Clubman ownership, he has kept this car in excellent condition. Please take a look through some of the hundreds of receipts that will be coming with the car detailing what has been spent on it. Lots of hours, money, sweat and joy have been put it to maintaining and restoring the car you see today.

A list of some major works that James has covered in his ownership includes; any bodywork that needed attending to, suspension overhaul, unleaded head conversion, new clutch fitted, flexible brake hoses fitted.
