Sumptuous cabin, an effortlessly smooth ride, and immense power under the bonnet makes this Bentley Arnage R a true delight to drive.

The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998 and remained in production until 2009. It marked the marque’s first all-new design since 1980. This particular car is the facelifted R variant, generously equipped with a host of factory-fitted optional extras. The R boasts twin turbochargers paired with the legendary 6.75L V8, delivering around ~450BHP. With a 0–60 time of just 5.8 seconds and a top speed nearing ~168MPH, it certainly doesn’t lack performance — an impressive achievement considering its size and the level of luxury inside.

This example is finished in the Bentley colour of “Dark Sapphire Pearl” with a "Magnolia" interior. It comes from ~2 years of careful ownership, serviced earlier this year by a Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist, and has covered only ~19,000 miles over its life. A face-lift version, the car has seen just 5 former keepers, judging by the condition of the car, it's been well pampered over the years.

Lovingly cared for and well preserved, this example speaks for itself — an absolute pleasure whether you’re behind the wheel or relaxing in the back.

Keith has thoroughly enjoyed owning this Arnage R over the past ~2 years. It’s been kept in his dry garage and reserved strictly for sunny weekend drives — a fact clearly reflected in its low mileage and superb condition, he's only covered ~2,000 miles in this rime. He had the car serviced earlier this year by Specialist Cars (South West), where they carried out some other maintenance to suspension etc as required and detailed in the invoice.

Originally, he planned to hold onto it for many years into his retirement. However, with most of his local roads being narrow country lanes bordered by tall hedgerows, the Arnage R isn’t the most practical fit. Keith is now on the lookout for a Continental GT instead. Exterior

Commanding, assertive, and refined — with dynamic styling cues that add a sporty edge to this luxurious saloon.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19” wheels, finished in silver, look great on this example and give the car a luxurious appeal. During our visit, the wheels appear well cared for, with no sign of any obvious damage to any of the spokes, but there are slight signs of marks around the centre caps.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli Powergy (dated 2024) and Asimmetrico (dated 2020) tyres, and these also appear to be in great condition, with a good amount of tread remaining and no visible cracking or signs of age on the sidewalls.

Bodywork

The bodywork of this Bentley looks in great condition, with all the panel gaps around the car appearing to align very well. During our visit, we didn't spot any obvious dings or dents around the bodywork, nor corrosion.

Paint

Finished in “Dark Sapphire Pearl”, the paint is applied with even coverage and colour across each panel. The finish of the paint appears in great condition, a mop and polish would elevate the finish further.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this Bentley Arnage R presents in great condition and is consistent with the car’s low mileage. During our visit, we found no signs of obvious chips, cracks, or discolouration. The window seals are also in great shape, matching the overall well-kept condition of the vehicle.

The bumpers, door handles, and window surrounds are all in great condition too. The only thing we did notice is some flaking on the chrome finish of both wing mirrors, likely due to unlucky stone chips.

Interior

Lined in fine leather and accented with rich wood trim — a cabin that delivers the unmistakable craftsmanship Bentley is known for.

Seats and Carpets

The "Magnolia" leather seats with dark blue pipping have held their shape very well over the years, as you would expect given the mileage. The cabin of this Bentley is a really lovely place to spend any time travelling. We noticed the slightest signs of wear to the driver bolsters in line with the age and mileage.

Dashboard

A burr walnut veneered dashboard greets you as you take a seat in the luxurious cruiser. A very clean and smart Bentley dash and instrument cluster, all the numbers are clean, clear and legible.

The dashboard in this Arnage R shows no signs of any major damage or scuffs, it is wrapped in dark blue leather, and with no warning lights displayed. The odometer showed a reading of ~19,057 miles during our visit.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with a Bentley leather steering wheel and chromed automatic gear selector.

The steering wheel requires minimal effort to manoeuvre this luxury saloon, it is wrapped in matching dark blue leather.

Mechanics

Powered by a mighty 6.75L twin-turbo V8, this refined heavyweight surges to 60MPH in a mere ~5.8 seconds.

Engine and Gearbox

Equipped with a 6.75L twin-turbocharged V8, the car featured a tuned engine with an output of ~450BHP. On the day of our visit, we started the car from cold, and it performed well on the road, the engine pulled nicely, idled smoothly, and ran without fault.

Keith reports that the car starts from cold with no issues and drives well with its smooth automatic gearbox powering the wheels. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, driving around, and for a closer look underneath the Bentley and the smart engine bay.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension appears to be in good condition, providing a smooth journey on the sweeping Cornish roads.

During our short drive in the car, it felt just as you'd expect for a sports car from this era, coming to a stop without a fuss too.

Electrics and Other

We didn’t test all the electrics during our visit, but Keith reports that, to his knowledge, all of the electrics are functional and operational, aligning with the overall condition of the car.

The car has its original stereo unit fitted along with a phone in the arm rest, aircon, electric seats, power windows from the factory.

Factory-packed with top-tier features, UK RHD, low mileage, and finished in desirable specification — a first-class saloon built for comfort and elegance.

The car is coming out of a ~2 year ownership with Keith. It was most recently serviced in February, over and above a standard oil service as detailed in the invoice. The Arnage R comes with a current MOT valid until 17.06.2026.

    What is your reserve policy?

    A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

    If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

    Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

    Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

    Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’.
