Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
The XJS is a highly respected grand-touring classic, with a great all-round driving experience.
There's a myth that the Jaguar XJS was supposed to fill in the gap which was left open by the demise of the E-Type. The 1975 Jaguar XJS was created as a luxury grand-tourer rather than an out-and-out sporting thriller. Yet, as the years went on, it carved its own niche and became something of a great all-rounder. One of the important factors that ensured its appeal remained strong over its ~21-year production run the model was the use of high-efficiency engines, but the XJS's main staying power can be attributed to the inclusion of a full convertible option.
Its final iteration arrived in 1991 when the XJS was given its last overhaul, which also included a series of new 4.0-litre straight six engines and the further addition of a full 4-seater convertible. Further changes were implemented in 1994 and in the following year, the runout versions, known as the Celebration (to celebrate the 60th year of Jaguar Cars) became a fitting tribute to mark the end of production of the XJS. Distinguished by unique 16” alloy wheels, full luxury specification and a unique range of exterior finishes, the Celebration edition, particularly in convertible form has become rather sought after.
Finished in a stunning Sapphire Blue with a cream leather interior, this 1995 Celebration has been with its original owner since new and has just ~35,361 miles on the clock. Complete with its original bill of sales and 14 service stamps, the most recent being on 22.04.2025, it also comes with three sets of keys and a fresh MOT valid until 21.04.2026
This listing was written from information supplied by Darren after meeting David the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Auction End Time Extended – Important Update
We’ve recently completed some major upgrades to our website, and while we’re actively working to resolve a few issues that have arisen, we want to ensure that all bidders have a smooth and fair experience.
As a precaution, we have extended the auction end time from Thursday evening, 15th May to Tuesday, 20th May.
This extension is being made to give everyone ample time to place their bids without any technical difficulties, and to ensure a fair auction process for all participants.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support!
Best, Kulraj – Trade Classics
David. Seen the car and think it’s very nice. 2 questions. I’m concerned about the flaking lacquer coat on quite a few panels and the probable need for a full respray. Is the paint original or has it had a respray already?
Please thank your sons for overseeing the viewing. Really decent, nice chaps.
Hi Again
Has the roof leaked in the past?
Image 96 and 103 appear to show historical damp on both LH & RH rear side panels next to the rear window?
I know the car despite being beautiful is no longer brand new and there has to be some kind of marks etc just checking.
Thank you
Hi No the roof has never leaked I think its just a stain
Hi David & Gill
Can you remember why the Offside headlamp adjustment was too low and created an MOT failure in 2009
Was the headlamp replaced due to failure or damage?
I am sorry but neither of us have any recollection of the failure but it must have been adjusted as we have never had a new headlamp x
Message for Bruce R. Your bid was placed 26 minutes after the auction should have ended. It should have finished only 2 minutes after the scheduled time of 8.10pm at 8.12pm on 15th May 2025. This was what the extended time should have been.
To extend the auction by a further 5 days is unfair to any bidder.
Why has the auction been extended please?
Hi Bruce R
Trade classics have had some technical issues, did you see their message
Quick question – does the car have the memory electric seats and also heated option, thank you. Mark
No Mark there is no memory or heated seats, I think that technology wasn’t available in 1995 x
Thank you ?
Hi, apart from the full service history has there been any actual new / replacement parts fitted to the car ie exhaust, battery, suspension, brakes etc? Thank you
Yes we have had 2 new batteries, also the front brakes were replaced 2 years ago nothing else though
Thank you David ?
Would it be possible to,view your vehicle this Saturday thanks Alan
Hi Alan,
We can help organise a viewing for you, if you could send an email to hello@tradeclassics.com first, we just need to do a few checks.
Thanks,
Colin.
