This is our 4th competition, Phill took home the prize last time. Here's a new one, we're running with NO MINIMUM target again, the car will be given away regardless of how many of the tickets we sell, this time we've got something from the Noughties...
This low mileage, high spec Jaguar XKR from 2009 could be yours for £4.50! It's a UK RHD, has covered just ~22,000 miles with just 1 registered keeper from new. It's finished in "Ultimate Black" over black leather interior, 20" diamond cut Vortex wheels, optioned Supersports CATS suspension, Alcon 6-pot sports brakes. It's got keyless entry & start/stop, dual zone climate control with heated electric memory seats, cruise control with multi-function steering wheel and paddle-shifters for the 6 speed automatic gearbox, delivering the ~420BHP from the 4.2L supercharged V8 to the rear wheels.
Exterior
Superbly presented, the ultimate black paintwork and Vortex 20" wheels create quite an impression.
Wheels and Tyres
The car is fitted with rare black and diamond cut 20-inch Vortex Wheels as fitted to the runout 2014 XKR Dynamic and XKR-S. They're in excellent condition throughout as you'll see in the images / videos.
They wheels are complemented by Pirelli P-Zero tyres, which have wider 10.5J rear rims with 295/30 tyres and 9J front with 255/35 tyres. They were fitted early in 2025 with circa 350 miles driven since.
Bodywork
The exterior is truly excellent with no issues whatsoever to report - it's of show winning quality.
The panel fit is flush to the body with factory finish door shut lines. All of the doors open and close with ease.
Paint
The "Ultimate Black" metallic paintwork is truly exceptional, with no signs of age, chips or scuffs.
Also, the paint appears to be all original in keeping with the cars' mileage and history - the shade and metallic lustre is consistent throughout and is in remarkable condition for its age.
Glass and Trim
The glass and their seals are in excellent order, with the auto xenon lights and lenses all in perfect condition.
The trim is well-mounted and showing no signs of age.
Interior
Well-specified with a lavish finish, the cabin has been carefully preserved.
Seats and Carpets
The black soft grain leather with contrast white stitching seats is superbly presented and reflects the car's age / mileage. Both front seats are heated with memory functions.
The premium grey leather-edged-over carpets are in good shape, all dry with no wear.
Dashboard
The cabin is in excellent order, optioned with aluminium veneers and piano black trim. The dashboard has been well cared for showing minimal signs of age - the dials, controls and switchgear are smartly presented and all function correctly.
The premium Alcantara headlining, door cards and interior trim are all in excellent shape too - the boot is clean, suggesting very light use. This XKR features an aluminium 'J' gate surround, sport bright pedals, front and rear park aids and a garage opener.
Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
The smartly finished multi-function steering wheel looks great, allowing for control of the infotainment system and cruise control. The alloy-leather "R" automatic gear selector finish off a pleasing cabin presentation, and the car has paddle-shifters for the 6 speed automatic too.
Mechanics
The XKR punches out astonishing performance from the supercharged V8; quick yet refined.
Engine and Gearbox
The cold engine start procedure was straightforward, it fires up with no warning dashboard lights and the engine idles smoothly with no untoward noises. The engine presentation is excellent, helping to indicate a good maintenance history.
The six-speed automatic gearbox works without fault, selecting drives smoothly - it kicks down quickly and of course with no slippage.
Suspension and Brakes
The car is fitted with Supersports CATS suspension, which provides a firm but supple ride. There were no unwanted noises from the chassis during the drive.
It also has Alcon high-performance brakes - 400mm front discs with 6 pot callipers, 350mm rear discs and rear and front “R” red brake calipers. They operate perfectly, with no negative feedback.
The Drive
Power comes from a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine, effortlessly elevating the car as an ideal long-distance cruiser. The aural feedback of the deep V8 growl and active exhaust blends in with XKR's road-holding composure and precision.
The car drives with impressive manners, the steering remains true with no negative feedback.
Electrics and Other
The XKR was highly specified when new, loaded up with an impressive kit list including cruise control, dual-zone climate control, sat-nav and Alpine premium audio.
It is also fitted with the space saver delete with deep luggage carrier and factory fit ‘get you home’ pump kit.
History and Paperwork
Low miles, 1 keeper from new, excellent specification, stunning presentation, a lovely service history, and all this potentially for just £4.50!
Registered in January 2009 by Taggarts Jaguar of Motherwell, the car was bought new by a Doctor in Harrogate, who then kept the car until recently. It comes with 11 service stamps, carried out regularly despite the low number of miles travelled. It was last serviced 50 miles ago in April 2025 and has an MOT to February 2026.
