Only 220 Evoluzione II’s were made in this beautiful Giallo Ginestra. It is the predecessor to a successful rallying heritage Lancia achieved in the late eighties and packs the same punch with a 2.0L turbocharged engine with four-wheel drive, perhaps more.

What more can be said about such a wonderful car? This is so rare that you will struggle to see it anywhere within a few hundred miles of yourself. Giallo Ginestra is definitely a colour we would want to drive in when the sun is out.

Bruce will be sad to see it go, however with him using it less than expected he is looking to find a new owner who can cherish this beautiful car.

Meet the owner

Bruce has owned this car since 1998 when it was imported into the country. He absolutely loves rally cars and thought the time was right to buy one.

He used it regularly up until 2003 at which point he brought another Delta Integrale – isn’t one enough Bruce? We joke you cannot get enough of this car, the sound it makes when that turbo kicks in is immense and quite unique.

We went around Bruce’s local area in London where we filmed our usual ‘Meet the Owner’ video. He talks about some of the tweaks to the car and why he is looking to sell. The car has been dry stored from 2003 when Bruce started to use it less and has been kept in great condition, taking it to regular MOT checks and services.

He has now tasked us with finding this vibrant hot-hatch a new home, in which a new owner can take pride in having such a limited edition example – whether that is on display in their collection, or taking it out for a spin. From our research, there are only two other limited edition Integrale Evo II’s like this one currently registered in the UK – surely something not to miss out on. Exterior

Heads are definitely going to get turned as you cruise down the road. As mentioned this is finished in Lancia’s Giallo Ginestra, where only 220 were painted this way. These cars are very desirable as they are celebrating the successes of Lancia’s rallying dominance.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels are fitted with 215/40/17 tyres that maintain excellent tread. Bruce mentions the wheels are the same style as original but he had them changed to be an inch larger than usual.

Bodywork

The bodywork on the Evo 2 is so iconic, the angles you get on the body keeps you looking in awe for quite some time. Upon our visit, we saw that the bodywork is in great condition.

Paint

The limited-edition yellow sets the car off beautifully. Please watch the exterior video as we point out any stone chips that have occurred over the mileage. If you are lucky enough to own this, you can sleep well at night knowing this is probably the only Lancia of its kind within hundreds of miles!

Glass and Trim

Both are in excellent condition across the car.

INTERIOR VIDEO

Interior

The cool blue dash with yellow ‘compass-like’ markings and Momo steering wheel look incredible. The overall interior is finished in black and grey with yellow touches made with striped Alcantra – very comfortable.

Seats and Carpets

Stamped with the ‘HF’ logo, these Recaro high back racing seats are there to provide comfort whilst you receive the thrill of your life driving this beast. The seats and carpets appear to be in excellent condition upon our visit.

Dashboard

What a beautiful dashboard. Very tidy and in excellent condition. Bruce mentions in the meet the owner video that the fuel gauge will need to be seen to by the new owner.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both are in excellent condition with no issues. Momo racing steering wheel that is factory spec with this limited edition model.

'ON THE ROAD' VIDEO

Mechanics

The power in this car is incredible. A 2.0L turbocharged 16-valve engine produces 212 bhp at 6500 rpm, wow. Please watch our usual ‘On the Road’ video to see the car performing whilst driving. Keep an ear open for when that turbocharger, a really unique sound.

Engine and Gearbox

The car started from cold – (see the cold start video). We didn’t give it enough revs the first time round so the car cut out, but as you can see from the video, it started fine second time around. As you can see there is no blue smoke exiting the exhaust.

Suspension and Brakes

The car is fitted with Ferrari F40 brakes on the front and revised solid discs on the rear which are in good condition for the mileage of the car. During our ride out you could not hear any abnormal knock or rattles that may indicate something wrong with the chassis and frame.

The Drive

The car really drives great. Bruce describes the steering as direct, making you feel in touch and connected to the road. He says it makes you forget your everyday driver, we can’t argue with that. Bruce says he is going to get a few miles on it to test the car more since he’s had it in storage for a while.

Electrics and Other

Bruce assures us that all electrics work. The fuel gauge is faulty and will need to be seen to by the new owner, Bruce believes this is due to the fuel pump that has just been replaced. A straight-through stainless steel exhaust has been added to the car under Bruce’s ownership.

History and Paperwork

This car is 1 of 220 made in this particular colour. It was never released in the UK market and is in LHD. 150 to Italy, 50 to Germany and 20 France examples were sanctioned in the European market.

Bruce bought this car in 1998 and has cared for it meticulously ever since. He has taken it to regular MOT and service checks. The turbo was replaced in 1999 along with a full service in 2013.

Current indicated mileage is 75,320 miles on 14/12/2019.
