The CLK63 packs in a hand built 6.2L high-revving V8 engine underneath its handsome bodywork. With a 0-62 MPH time of ~4.7 seconds, this CLK63 delivers 30% extra power than the original 5.4L CLK AMG and is significantly more rapid on the road. In short, it's a very quick car, and with ~474BHP at hand, the engine delivers some stunning performance. It’s hugely enjoyable to drive and the sheer acceleration it delivers is so addictive. Largely modelled on the E-Class, the four seater cabriolet with its fold down roof, boasts 7-speed Automatic transmission, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, 10-way power front seats and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Seven-channel digital surround sound comes standard along with Tele-Aid emergency assistance system, a Keyless Go system, Parktronic system and bi-xenon headlights on this model.

This AMG comes to market from ~1.5 years ownership, with under ~4,000 miles being covered in that time. In addition to this, the last servicing was carried out in March 2022 where the engine oil, suspension arm and oil pollen charcoal filter was replaced. This model was only produced for ~2 years, so it's a chance to own a proper hand-built AMG V8.

What a car to own and drive and with the roof down, it's hard to beat the sound of that 6.2L V8.

Michael has owned the car for just over a year and have thoroughly loved very minute of owning the CLK. As warmer months are fast approaching, the current owner has decided its time for a change and to purchase a car that makes his golfing days and dog walking a little more straight forward.

"I've absolutely adored this car, it's worth its weight in fun alone and the roar that comes from the engine is simply mind blowing. The car would be sorely missed but I need something a little bigger in size to fit all my golfing equipment in when it comes to the weekends". Exterior

The CLK63 has Mercedes quality all over it. Sleek styling and modern elegance all finished in a beautiful coat of Calacite White.

Wheels and Tyres

Looking around the exterior the 18" full black 5-spoke Mercedes AMG alloys are fitted to the car. There are some signs of kerb marks to the wheels and so they could benefit from refurbishment, although these have been touched up in black to give a nice appearance to the exterior of the CLK.

225/40 Hilo Green-plus tyres show with a date code of 3220 (2020 dated) to the fronts and 255/35 Centara Vanti HP dated at 3520 (2020 dated). Take a look over the exterior gallery section for a close up view of the wheels and tyres on the Mercedes.

Bodywork

Overall the bodywork around the Mercedes looks good showing without major marking or dings, or corrosion to the lower sections that you can sometimes see. The only thing of note we would point out is on the front quarter section, the alignment on the body panel did appear a little out.

Included with the CLK are the body matched white wing mirror back sections should the new owner want an alternate choice to match the car. We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

The CLK shows in a lovely cover of "Calacite White" (code 650), contrasted with the black trim, wheels and interior the CLK is a beautiful car that really stands out on the road with a great sense of class.

We noted a slight sign of marking on the edge of the drivers door and on the base part of the drivers door. A slight scuff was observed above the offside rear wheel on the rear quarter section and we also noted a mark on the rear bumper section opposite the exhaust pipe, overall nothing that presented a major concern here.

Again, we have taken high resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves. The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass sections around the CLK showed really well with side windows, mirrors and lenses all appearing in a great condition with no significant chips, cracks or scratching that we observed during our visit, just a light mark was observed on the drivers door on the lower section of the trim panel.

Interior

Comfort and efficiency is key in the AMG interior, climate control and multi-adjustable heated electric seats are fitted for that quality Mercedes feel.

Seats and Carpets

The sports seats in the front and more compact set in the rear are really comfortable. The fronts seats are heated which we've tested on our drive out in the CLK, finished in black with very little by means of wear to note.

Carpets through the Mercedes interior showed nicely which have been well protected by the mat sections in the car. The AMG mats in the CLK look to be original given their appearance, the condition overall wasn't too bad but did show with some wear and a few signs of tearing where the mats join the fixing eye nearest the seat.

We found no issues with the roof lining inside or out, which all looked good on our visit. Over in the boot, the carpeted sections show nicely and are tidy although, there was a slight sign of a mark in the boot section which we noted, but this didn't present a major concern.

Dashboard

Centre mounted infotainment system gives the driver control of radio / stereo and phone integration. Dash instruments present really well showing no signs of fogging or display issues. The dash shows no signs of cracking or marking and presents nicely as a good looking interior which overall is comfortable and efficient.

The instruments are all nice and clean with the odometer reporting ~61,001 miles at the time of our visit. Our interior gallery section takes you over some closer images of the dashboard, head over and see the cars interior in finer detail.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A nicely presented 4-spoke leather bound multi-function Mercedes wheel shows in great condition without major signs of wear. The inline wheel functions for infotainment and mobile phone calls are reported to work without issue.

Sat behind the wheel are paddle shift gear options which overrides the auto gearbox giving the driver ultimate control of the V8 power. In practice however, the automatic gearbox’s comfort and sport shift-modes rarely need any assistance.

The auto gear selector shows well without concern and holds the roof button in the same section. We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and appreciate the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

The AMG CLK delivers a sublime performance with a great sounding engine, producing a 0-62 MPH time of ~4.7 seconds from ~474 BHP, this car is a seriously thrilling machine.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine bay on the Mercedes looked clean and tidy showing without concern or issue. Sound deadening sections on the bonnet lid underside showed in good condition also. The 'hand built' Mercedes detail plate sits proudly on top of the V8 AMG engine which brings with it a beautiful sound when fired up.

Whilst out in the Mercedes, the gears changed smoothly and cleanly and gave a great journey out when taking the CLK on the road with the current owner. Head over to the 'Mechanical Review' video for an overview of the engine, here you can see the car start up from cold and taken out on a short drive with the owner.

Suspension and Brakes

Large drilled discs gave plenty of stopping power when required. The smart looking AMG callipers showed very nicely and performed well, stopping when needed with ease. Michael, the current owner, reported no issues with the suspension or brakes.

Looking underneath the Mercedes, the suspension and metalwork showed in a good condition. Please view the mechanical review video and photographs to see close-up images from underneath the car.

The Drive

The 6.2L V8 has more than enough power and performance to offer any enthusiastic driver plenty of smiles for many miles in this fantastic Mercedes and yet, is comfortable enough to be weekend cruiser in and around town.

A key feature with the CLK63 is having the option to drive freely with an open roof, the cabin area a really sheltered space even when driving at speed which makes the car a very enjoyable experience whatever the weather.

Electrics and Other

The cabriolet soft top retractable roof action works really well which we've also covered off in our 'Mechanical Review' video. In the boot section, the optional wing mirror backs are contained, along with a first aid kit, towing hook, warning triangle, wheel brace and tyre gel for any flat tyre issues.

All of the electronics are said to be functioning as they should and there were no issues during our visit. Michael reports that all elements are fully working to his knowledge.
