A significant model in British automotive history, the MG J2 is a quintessential pre-war sports car. Clearly that is not the regular parking spot for this lovely car, but there does appear to be quite a large oil leak showing already. What steps have you taken to investigate this?
As mentioned in the advert, there is a slight oil leak, it is from the rear of the engine which I suspect is the rear crank bearing seal, not uncommon apparently on these engines.
It collects in the underpan when the car has been standing for a while and gets drained off periodically via a drain plug at the rear of the pan. I hadn’t done it for a while and as the car was parked facing downhill it “puddled” from the front of the pan.
