Introduction

Lovely restoration and solid example - dry stored 1991 Mini Cooper!

I have owned this lovely Rover Mini Cooper for the past 10 years.

The car has been an absolute joy and a privilege to own, a beautiful example.

However, now with a family in toe it is time to sell it to someone who has the time to keep it in this wonderful condition and to take it to shows and use it as I just don't have the time to use it anymore, hence the reason for sale.

Market Auction

Ryan, the seller, has created this listing themselves using our free Market Auction tool. Unlike our Curated Auctions, we haven’t photographed the car or written the listing, however we have completed 3 important security checks for your peace of mind.

V5C Checked

Ryan provided a copy of the V5C logbook, which we verified against his photo ID for name and address confirmation.

ID Checked

Ryan provided his photo ID, which we verified against the name and address on the V5C logbook.

History Checked

History check actioned using HPi, the industry’s top verification service, for finance, write-offs, and stolen records.

Exterior

I love the beautiful paintwork which I have kept up to by waxing and polishing - the Red with the white roof has always been my favourite colour combination with the white Cooper body stripes.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels are Cooper Minilite 13 inch alloys and all are in good condition - please see the pictures.

There is a full size spare in the boot.

Bodywork

As you can see the body work is in excellent condition (refurb was done 10+ years ago before my ownership).

No rust In the usual spots on the wings either.

The underneath of the car is in fantastic condition again nice and solid.

Paint

The car was resprayed during the restoration, around 10+ years ago.

As mentioned it has been polished and waxed in my ownership and is in great condition for the age of the car.

Glass and Trim

Glass and trim is in good condition with no crack and chips all the chrome and rubbers are present and correct and in great condition.

All the windows open and close as they should.

Interior

Vinyl interior in black with red piping and lovely silver dash and classic Cooper steering wheel.

Seats and Carpets

The seats and carpets including the mats with red trim are all in excellent condition with no rips or tears, and were all new to the car when restored.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in a lovely silver finish and is in great condition, again this was new to the car at the restoration - there are no chips or cracks.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Lovely classic Cooper steering wheel in leather - this is in great condition.

The silver gear knob adds something a bit different and is finished with a black gaiter.

Mechanics

1275cc engine which was rebuilt with a high lift cam from Kent Cams.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine benefits from a high lift cam and pulls really well - it has always been very reliable and comes with electric start which transforms the experience.

We also have the K&N air filter and stainless steel sports exhaust.

The 4 speed gearbox is in excellent condition and works very well going into gear with no issues.

Suspension and Brakes

Brakes are discs all round and the car benefits from a new suspension set up from restoration.

The Drive

This car is so much fun to drive and starts first time with no issues - it has been run on Super Unleaded and pulls well and is quick.

Corners brilliantly and really gets down the road well.

As said before the 4 speed gearbox goes as it should and the engine and exhaust sound brilliant.

No smoke or reliability issues.

Electrics and Other

There are few electrics on this but the ones that are there are all working, no issues.

History and Paperwork

Included in the sale is a full CD Rom with pictures of the restoration and all invoices and receipts.

I have kept on top of the servicing myself - I have a folder of previous MOTs and all receipts from the build. MOT untill beginning of October 2025.

All invoice and receipts from the build.

I have a chrome grill which I'm including in the sale should you wish to change it.

From Trade Classics:

This is a Market Auction listing, meaning we have not visited and photographed the car - instead the seller has supplied the images and written the description. However we’ve done all our usual seller checks, including photo ID that matches the V5, and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPi that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check. The check brought back that the Mini was a category N insurance loss claimed on 13.05.1993, and then it was subject to a condition inspection on 06.01.1995.

Viewings are welcomed, so please get in touch with us via the 'contact us' page - we just need to speak to you first on the phone, have you register on the site, and also send in valid photo ID before confirming a suitable time to visit.

Like all our auctions, if there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bids, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - the Buyer's Premium is not refundable in any instance, just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price that the seller will let the car go for. We work with sellers to set realistic reserves in line with market pricing – we don’t take on vehicles with unrealistic pricing. Reserve met / not met labeling may or may not be announced during the auction – this is just like a traditional auction house, i.e. bidders may only know when they’ve been successful at the end of the auction.

If the reserve hasn’t been met at the end of the auction then we work with the highest bidder to try to work out a deal with the seller.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
