Introduction
Adam Purrier
The 930 is a true icon - wide-bodied, rear-engined, and turbocharged; it’s a car that earned its reputation as the '80s supercar slayer.
The 911 Turbo (930) is a defining chapter in Porsche’s prestigious history - a bold, turbocharged expression of performance and style. First introduced in the mid-1970s, the 930 took the world by storm with its aggressive flared wheel arches, deep front air dam, and unmistakable “whale tail” rear spoiler. By 1983, the model had been refined into a high-performance machine, powered by a 3.3-litre turbocharged flat-six engine that delivered thrilling acceleration and a distinctive exhaust note.
The 930 offered serious performance for its time, with explosive power delivery that earned it a reputation for being both exhilarating and demanding to drive, delivering a raw, engaging experience which still remains an exciting drive today. The 911 Turbo remains one of the most iconic and collectible models ever to wear the Porsche badge.
This example comes to market with from ~32 years ownership, having been imported in to the UK in 1987, the car originally having been delivered to Monaco. This car could be considered a recommission or rolling restoration project - it has benefitted from some light recommission work already over the past year, after having been sat unused for over 10 years prior.
The car looks solid within its core structure, e.g. sills, floors, kidney bowles etc - the main areas of rust are on the wings in the usual areas, and corrosion on the bumpers. The interior shows well for the most part, but would be improved with the continuation of the restoration project. The engine looks like it's been untouched for a long time and would benefit from a refresh / rebuild, however, it is a running example, with the engine starting first time even after its time off the road.
With some work still to do, the 911 will always be a highly sought-after classic no matter the age or the mileage, well worth a detailed look for someone with a little time for a new project.
This listing was written from information supplied by Adam after liaising with Derek the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Okl all the documentation as listed shows full provenance from original delivery in Monaco with 30km on the clock right up until present time .
I’m probably wrong but it seems first registered in Switzerland not Monaco….
Lottex your mistaken this vehicle is not only running on 5 cylinders if it were as per the open and honest advertising it would have been stated so .Additionally it has had extensive recommission work carried out and this “issue “ has never been highlighted because it’s running on the flat 6 .
Kulraj et al maybe you can comment ?
Good afternoon, are there any documents such as a certificate of authenticity to confirm if the car is matching numbers, and what the original colours are?
Hi , Sorry, I’m late seeing the auction. Sounds like the engine is only running on five cylinders. How long has this problem been apparent? have you tried to address it? As you’re no doubt aware a Turbo engine rebuild is rather expensive ! I guess the reserve is mikes away from the current bid? Thanks
Garage Schiller Geneve with delivery mileage of 30 kilometres as per the documentation as shown
Fillipo the vehicle was delivered to the first owner in Monaco brand new from the dealer in Monaco ,the delivery stamp confirms this so yes it’s a euro spec car
@Culraj when can i view the car?
Hi Filippo,
We can help arrange a viewing for you if you could send an email to hello@tradeclassics.com, we just need to do a couple of checks first.
Thanks,
Colin.
Is this definitely a euro spec car? If a decode the VIN it states its a US spec car. This is the reason why it would be great to have copy of the option code sticker which also lists all the optional (AC, lsd, sport seats ecc….)
If your concerned may I suggest you contact Porsche they will have it listed
Additionally I’m informed the aircon hardware is still present and was removed in order to be replaced as the tubing was being replaced .
Fillipo I have looked at all my owner manuals etc and the option code of which you speak is as I say in my owners manual is on page 91 .
All the reams of paperwork I have just contain the sticker I pointed out .I do know in the engine compartment there are tons of gold spec stickers .
Just out of curiosity what is it that concerns you ? Given this is an original 930 marque with full service and traceable ownership from factory until now ? Anything I can do to help then please ask
Kaitje yes of course be a pleasure .Ive had the vehicle for over 30 years .Theres very few of them left in stock condition .
Thanks but the option code should look different than the one on pag 7….the sticker should also be present under the front bonnet. Should state the VIN, colour code interior and esterior and a list of the options code. Can you see if the find it?
Hello Derek’s.i am interested in the Porsche.i,m from amsterdam( Holland).if I register is it oké to bid on the.thank you
History and paperwork section
Page 7 of the documents within the pictures section of this auction shows the options sticker ,it’s in French ,I’ve just checked and it’s documented
Hi ,I didn’t personally remove the aircon unit ,the vehicle is presently stored elsewhere where it was being recommissioned prior to advertisement .The guys at classic auction can answer the questions on that .I have the service book but is that not listed in the photographs with the advert ? The options sticker (white with model number on etc ?)
As for viewing if you contact Culraj at classic auctions he will be able to tell you if he can arrange that .Hope it helps
Derek
Hello, a couple of questions if I may:
– I see the air conditioning system has been removed. Is that correct? What was the reason? Do you still have the hardware?
– can you please share the option list sticker? If not wrong its no longer under the front bonnet but you should have a copy in the service book.
– Can the car be viewed maybe this Sunday or Monday?
Many thanks
Filippo
Hi Filippo, Kulraj here from Trade Classics.
DerekE has answered some of the questions above. In relation to the air-con, this was removed during the recommission work as the lines were dry-rotted (typical for this era of 911). The parts are included, with the exception of the lines which have been thrown away as no longer usable.
With regards visiting, this won’t be possible this weekend, but if you could email us at hello@tradeclassics.com, with some options for Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday, we will see what can be arranged.
Best,
Kulraj – Trade Classics
