Introduction
The Supersport Carrera Cabriolet is amongst the most exclusive of the air-cooled 911s.
Built in the factory’s Sonderwunsch (Special Wishes) the M491 option was known as the Supersport, factory numbers are hard to confirm, but it is believed that just 26 Cabriolets were produced in RHD over its 5-year production. The Supersport was the car that kicked off a Porsche love affair with the wide-body look for non-turbo 911s. Furthermore, the H-Series Cabriolets were fitted with a power-operated hood and the G50 gearbox.
This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Supersport Cabriolet is finished in black with a recently re-connollised black and lipstick-red leather interior. It is also one of just six cabriolets to be fitted with factory-applied LE rear wing vents. The body has been stripped down to bare metal and it has also seen a gearbox rebuild along with an extensive engine and mechanical renovation. I've had the car since 2020 and there's been around ~£28,000 worth of spending. It's got an impressive service history, full owner wallet and booklets, two keys and an MOT to October 2025, this is a great chance to obtain one the most celebrated and rarest air-cooled generation 911s.
