Introduction

Dom Ginn
Professional Consigner

With its wide stance, all-wheel drive grip, and signature flat-six soundtrack, it's a true driver's Porsche — refined, fast, and unmistakably iconic.

The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (997) is a standout in the modern evolution of the iconic 911 lineage - a model that strikes a near-perfect balance between classic character and contemporary performance. Launched in 2005 as part of the 997 generation, the Carrera 4S quickly became a favourite among enthusiasts thanks to its broader rear haunches and the added confidence of Porsche’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system.

Nearly every element of the Porsche was refined for the 997, from an improved chassis and more ergonomic interior - to a return to the round headlight design that recalls earlier generations. The 4S is more than just a fast car - it’s a deeply engaging and rewarding drive that blends Porsche’s motorsport heritage with the comfort and practicality of a true grand tourer.

Coming from ~13 years ownership with our vendor, this Porsche comes in a beautiful factory specification of "Meteor Gray Metallic" over black leather interior. It comes with embossed and heated 12 way electric seats, steering wheel with Tiptronic controls, 19" Sport Design wheels, cruise control, top-tinted windscreen, navigation system and parking sensors. Complete with two sets of keys, the original service, operating and driving books - along with the Porsche leather folio, it is a beautiful example of German engineering. It has just been serviced in April, and comes with almost a years MOT too, it's ready to be driven away.

This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Gurdeep the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

It's been my pride and joy for over 12 years - a dream car that I aspired to own from a young age.

Gurdeep has spent the last ~13 years with the car and has really made the most of his time with it, he tells us, “I searched specifically for this example due to its striking factory colour, standout wide-body stance, and the exhilarating performance the 4S delivers."

Finished in its original factory specification, this 911 has been meticulously cared for and always garaged. It has only been used as a weekend car in fair weather, and it shows — the car remains in superb condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. Recently, it had a full service including a gearbox and brake fluid change, with no modifications ever made from its factory setup.

Gurdeep has decided it is time to pass on the car to a new owner, he tells us "Selling it is a very difficult decision, but with a growing family, practicality must now come first. I’m hoping to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it as much as I have." He will be on hand to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

With its sculpted curves and signature rear light strip, the 997 strikes a perfect balance between timeless elegance and modern aggression.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with 19” "Sport Design" wheels, these show in great condition, with no noted concerning scuffs or damage. The wheels could benefit from a bit of a deep clean, but weren't a major concern. The Porsche crest emblems present well across all four corners of the car.

The wheels are wrapped with a matching set of Pirelli P-Zero tyres all round. Front tyres show a spec of 235/35 and rears, 305/30. Both sets of tyres show with date codes from 2017. All tyres show in good visual condition. For a more detailed view of the 997's exterior and a closer inspection of the wheels and tyres, please refer to the photos and videos.

image

Bodywork

The car stands level, shut lines look good and we could see no visible distortion to the panels. Both doors, boot, and bonnet open and close well, exactly as you would expect from Porsche build quality. We found no dings or major areas of concern when looking over the car.

There is a scuff and slight damage to the underside of the plastic front splitter trim, but overall, nothing overly concerning and an area that is away from general view. We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

The "Meteor Gray Metallic" paint shows a good lustre and even colour match throughout. The current owner keeps the Porsche dry stored and only driving out in fair weather, just some of the reasons why this presents so well. If we were being overly picky, there were a few minor stone chips noted on the finish of the front grille and a couple of light marks on the rear bumper.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

Overall the glass and trim on the Porsche showed with no major cause for concern. The optional extra top-tinted windscreen, side windows, rear window and headlights all show really well, with no significant scratching or marks. There was a very small stone chip noted on the top section of the windscreen, although we had to look fairly closely to spot this.

The seals look good around the outside and in line with the rest of the condition of the car. We noted a small mark on the passenger side interior door trim.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

image

Interior

Step inside, and you’re greeted by leather-clad luxury, purposeful design, and that signature Porsche feel that makes every drive special.

Seats and Carpets

Both front seats are heated and 12-way electric adjustable, finished in black leather with the Porsche crest embossed in the headrests. Overall, these show in great condition - there were signs of minor creasing to the leather mainly on the side bolster sections of the front seats and some minor marks to the seat backs, but nothing out of the ordinary. The rear section shows very little signs of use, again showing well.

Carpets showed in great condition through the interior. Equally in the front boot, this area showed no concerns.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

image

Dashboard

The leather covered dashboard looks to be free from any splits and cracks and showed well on our visit. The white backed clocks and dials showed nicely with ~46,474 miles shown at the time of our visit.

The display on these sections showed a lovely level of presentation and are all functional showing clearly with no obvious scratching to the facings. Our interior gallery section takes you over some closer images of the Porsche dashboard, head over and see the car's interior in finer detail.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A classic Porsche 3-spoke steering wheel finished in matching black leather with aluminium accents, and importantly controls for the Tiptronic gearbox - this is in great condition and has maintained its looks as well as the rest of the interior.

The automatic gear selector also shows the same levels of quality, both sections are straight forward in design and present smartly with only minor levels of wear noted.

image

Mechanics

Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine, the 4S delivers its performance with a crisp, responsive feel that’s hard to match.

Engine and Gearbox

Starting up from cold, we noted no concerns at all. The car idled smoothly and engine bay showed well, with its engine easily capable of taking the driver up to speed in no time at all.

The 5-speed Tiptronic gearbox changes smoothly with no issues, and the 997 pulls strongly through the range. We took the car out around some local roads with the current owner to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about. On the drive, we ran through the motions and got an overview from Gurdeep's perspective on how the car performs.

Take a look over the video for yourselves to hear the Porsche start up from cold and take in the lovely sounds of the engine.

image

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or issues from the suspension when we were on the road in the car, and gave us no concerns in its performance or handling.

With drilled discs on each side, they felt great and had no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey and brought the car easily to a stop. Overall the car performed as to be expected with no observed issues.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

image

The Drive

The 997 offers some incredible levels of performance with enough power for any situation, while offering everyday usability that makes it just as capable on a winding back road as it is on a cross-country journey.

The current owner tells us more about his experience with the Carrera, "What makes this car truly special is the way it drives. The control, the balance, the response — it’s pure Porsche. Whether on a winding road or a long stretch of motorway, it’s always a thrill and never fails to put a smile on your face."

image

Electrics and Other

During our time with the car we noticed no electrical faults. All dashboard lights turned off when out on the road as expected, and all dials and gauges were functioning without issue.

Additional features fitted on the 997 include Porsche embossed - heated electric seats, top-tinted windscreen, navigation system and ParkAssistant. The typical 'sticky buttons' were noted on the centre section by the navigation system, a fairly common observation on these cars.

Gurdeep let us know that he's had no issues with the electrical elements on the car, and that everything should be working correctly to the best of his knowledge.

History and Paperwork

With ~13 years ownership, April 2025 servicing and fewer than ~6,000 miles covered in the last ~10 years, the this 997 4S is a really smart example.

Having only covered very few miles with the current owner, the Porsche hasn't had much need for additional works over its years on the road, especially considering the modest mileage. Most recently, the 997 had servicing completed in April 2025, covering off an oil, air and engine filter change, brake fluid and transmission oil change.

Servicing is complete with 3 previous Porsche service stamps noted in the original maintenance log and 7 in the additional service book. The car was fitted with a Cobra tracking alarm system in 2012, although will need updating to the new ownership, following the completion of the final sale. For a full overview of the servicing carried out, please take a look over the paperwork gallery section.

Please note, the private registration will not be included in the sale, the car will be returned to an age appropriate registration.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.
