Recent Buyer Review – Simon Welsh on 1st May “Found my ideal 90’s sports car on Trade Classics. Living in Bournemouth and the car being in the Midlands I relied heavily on the advert, photos and videos.

On picking the car up I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was as it had been described. So I got straight into it and drove home. What a drive put a smile on my face.

Thanks very much Trade Classics and I’m now looking out for my next classic to add to the collection.”.

Brian has owned the car for over 50 years. During its hay day, Brian enjoyed using it to go on tours with his friends and then used it to drive during work. His intention was to give the car some much needed TLC and bought some parts for it – unfortunately due to his busy work schedule he was unable to complete the work and now understands it needs a full restoration. Brian has said he will kindly give the new owner the parts he has bought for the car.

Please watch the video to hear the work that has been over the years and what spare parts Brian has for it.

Brian will be really sad to see it go – but as he’s got older, he realises that he doesn’t have the time to restore such a loveable vehicle. He wants someone that will ‘cherish’ it and hopefully take him for a ride out when it is beautifully restored again.

Brian has had this car locked away for some decades now. As you can see from the photos and videos there is rust around most of the car. We believe that someone who is extremely passionate about restoration projects will be able to see the potential this car has. Please see all the photos and videos to see what is salvageable. We have produced an extensive video that meticulously goes over the whole car so the new owner will know exactly what work needs to be done.

Wheels & Tyres
The car is fitted with the original wheels that can be restored upon initial inspection. Brian has told us that he has a full set of new tyres available that is part of the purchase.

Please watch all the videos carefully. There is notable rust corrosion on the skirts and rear of the car.

We recommend the new owner brings this car back to life with a respray once restoration of the body has been completed.

Glass and Trim
A new windscreen will be included in the sale along with a list of other parts.

The interior will also need a full restoration – some pieces may be salvageable. We know the new owner will get so much satisfaction by undertaking such a project. We will be watching to see how they get on and cannot wait to see the final piece in its full glory.

Seats and Carpets
We would recommend a full restoration of the seats and carpets.

The dashboard seems to be in reasonable condition and we would recommend restoring this piece. Keeping the original dashboard in will sustain the character and originality of the car.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
The original steering will look great once cleaned and restored. There is no gear stick at this point in time.

As this is classed as a ‘barn find’, we were unable to film Brian in our usual ‘On the Road’ video. However, with the extensive media that details everything wrong with the car – we are confident that any potential buyer will see the undoubted promise that this project has.

Engine and Gearbox
The car is unable to start due to the poor condition. Please see the photos and videos of the engine and other parts to see what you would be able to keep.

Suspension and Brakes
Brian mentioned in the ‘Meet the Owner’ video that he has some brake parts that the new owner can have as part of the sale.

As this car hasn’t started for many years, a lot of the parts will need to be completely replaced. A full restoration is needed – Brian and all of us at Trade Classics are desperate for this to happen.

The car is MOT exempt due to its age. Brian is the sole owner of the vehicle but has not used it much since the mid-80’s.

We have asked Brian for a full list of parts that were meant to have been used to restore the vehicle.

HPi Check Results
– HPi clear – a new HPi check will be actioned and supplied by us.

We know at Trade Classics that there is a lot of work to be done on this car. But if you’re passionate and get complete satisfaction from doing exactly that then this is the one for you. We know that once this has had a full restoration to the highest of standards then this car is going to look absolutely stunning.

It is a shame that Brian wasn’t able to find the time to restore this machine but sometimes you are unable to do everything in life. You can see in the ‘Meet the Owner’ that he will be sad to see this go, however, he is excited to see what the new owner can do with it.

Brian is desperate to see this go to a loving home and would really like for you to take hime for a drive when it is finished.

This auction listing was written from information supplied by Matt after meeting Brian the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Does this car have overdrive?

Hi Carla – yes we think it does and you can hear Brian talk about it in the video I think.

Peter [oxford]

Dear Brian,
The underside of your car look very rusted. Can you tell me why there is a rear spring laying under the car?
