Introduction

Valerie
A proper classic British roadster for just £4.50!
This is our 3rd competition, Valerie took home the prize last time. Here's a new one, this time we're running with NO MINIMUM target, the car will be given away regardless of how many of the tickets we sell, and we've got something from the 70s...
This beautiful Triumph TR6 from 1973 could be yours for £4.50! It's a UK RHD, running on that all important petrol injection system, and has just 2 former keepers registered. It looks stunning in the sun in the yellow over black colourway, and that little bit more sporty with upgraded wheels. We've had the car serviced and MOTd, so that the winner of this car can drive away when they collect! What are you waiting for, get your tickets before the competition closes.
Exterior
A major update from the TR5, with a sleek low waisted look, and a combination of sharper lines with classic chrome finishes.
Wheels and Tyres
Fitted with Minator wheels, they all present in excellent condition, and offer a more sporty look to the car. The tyres all look in good condition, with plenty of tread, no advisories in the recent MOT.

Bodywork
For a car from the 70s, the panel gaps and shut-lines on this car look good. It's likely had restoration work in the past, as we didn't spot and corrosion on this.
The soft-top is in good condition too, manually operated of course, we think most of the time you'll be keeping it down like we have!

Paint
Finished in a striking colour of "Mimosa Yellow" (64), it's the factory colour on this car. The paint is in good condition, polishing up nicely and even in colour and finish across all the panels. The boot does have some micro-blistering though, likely to have been caused from a re-spray at some point.

Glass and Trim
The glass and trim on this car add to the character. In general, they present well, good shine on the chrome work, and the light lenses all look good too as pictured.

Interior
Back to basics with this classic roadster, period wood veneer and wood trim with chrome bezels delight.
Seats and Carpets
Fitted with black vinyl seats, they are in good condition and don't show much wear being wrapped in a hard wearing material.
The carpets are also black, and the smart TR6 over mats add to the overall positive presentation of this car.

Dashboard
Wood veneer, Smiths dials, chrome bezels, it's a very classic affair. The dashboard is smart as pictured, just some age to the veneer showing. The dials have are all legible and the top of the dash is wrapped in black vinyl.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick
Fitted with a wood rimmed steering wheel, it presents in good condition as pictured and suits the car. The gearstick features a wooden gear knob with Triumph logo and is also in good condition.

Mechanics
A later CR car, these delivered ~125BHP to the rear wheels through a 4 speed gearbox, what a sound they make too.
Engine and Gearbox
A service and recommission after the car has been in storage for some years, and now the straight six is singing again. It's had a thorough overhaul, now it's just waiting to be used and enjoyed.
Fitted with a 4 speed gearbox, it operates without issue with a firm clutch to transfer the power through the rear axle.

Suspension and Brakes
As with many classic roadsters, the suspension set-up is low to the ground, putting you in prime position when driving. It feels planted on the road on the 15" wheels, and the brakes are effective too when pushed hard.

The Drive
This car is certainly not for the shrinking violet, but get in and fire her up, the roof down, and you'll be grinning with delight when you press the accelerator and hear her go!

Electrics and Other
A relatively simple affair with these classic cars, important things like the lights, dials and heater all work. We haven't actually tried the period radio, we've been too busy listening to that straight six.

History and Paperwork
This car has just had 2 former keepers registered, has recently been recommissioned after some time off the road in storage, and most importantly, can be won for just £4.50.
The car has recently been recommissioned, and has been MOTd too, so that the lucky winner will be able to drive away on the collection day. Lots of parts have been worked on like new fuel injection metering unit, injectors, spark plugs, distributor, leads, starter motor. It's a classic car that is waiting for a winner to cherish and enjoy it.
We’ve conducted our usual seller checks, including photo ID, V5, and also actioned a history check on the vehicle. This is a professional check by HPI that highlights if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or has any outstanding finance. Note, this does not include a mileage history check. Terms and conditions apply.
