Introduction
Kulraj Singh Salh
The Lotus Carlton could outrun many Italian supercars of the era at a fraction of the cost when new.
Those with long memories might recall the fuss the Lotus Carlton ruffled up in the press. The 180+ MPH Lotus caused such causation, that the media called Vauxhall irresponsible and claimed the car was anti-social; thus creating a marketing dream for free! Conceived as an Opel, just 282 RHD cars left the production line in Russelhiem then shipped to Hethel. They were then disassembled, subject to extensive chassis and engine work and given an official Lotus type number of 104.
Trade Classics has possibly one of the best examples available on the market for sale. It is completely original down to the original tyres and almost unmarked interior, with two previous owners. Car number 0882 has been gently used in recent years, living a semi-retired life in near-perfect storage conditions. As a result, it has only recorded ~20,800 miles on the clock, which correlates to the incredible condition, including the original painted torque marks guides on the engine components. Make no mistake, this is one of the most original Lotus Carltons available.
