Introduction

Dom Ginn
Professional Consigner

1930s style with modern reliability - the JBA is a rare British classic that turns heads.

The Ford JBA Falcon is a rare and distinctive car that beautifully blends vintage styling with modern engineering. Built in the UK by JBA Motors, the Falcon draws clear inspiration from 1930s roadsters, capturing the elegance and charm of pre-war motoring while offering the reliability and usability of a more contemporary vehicle.

Designed as a tribute to a bygone era, it features sweeping wings, a long bonnet, and classic proportions that give it undeniable presence on the road. Unlike many traditional classics, the JBA Falcon was developed to be enjoyed without compromise, combining its retro looks with dependable Ford underpinnings.

Handcrafted in limited numbers, each example carries a sense of individuality and British heritage, making it a standout choice for enthusiasts looking for something truly unique. This example comes to market from around ~6 months with our vendor, it features a multi-CD changer and stereo unit and a set of 'DTM Racing' alloy wheels.

Whether admired for its nostalgic design or enjoyed for its engaging drive, the Falcon offers a refreshing take on classic motoring with a modern twist.

This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Leo the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Blending classic British heritage with standout style - it's a drive that’s as engaging as it is distinctive.

Following a short period of ownership, the time has come for Leo to part ways with his JBA Falcon. Drawn to its unique character and strong British heritage, he was keen to experience something a little different, and the Falcon certainly delivered.

Leo says, “It’s a fantastic car with a real sense of identity - you can feel the craftsmanship and heritage in the way it drives.” Despite his brief time with it, there’s plenty he’s come to appreciate, particularly its engaging nature on the road and the way it stands out from the crowd.

He adds, “It’s smooth, responsive, and has a great presence wherever you take it. It’s one of those cars that always gets attention and sparks conversation.”

The sale comes reluctantly, but with a new opportunity on the horizon, it’s time for the Falcon to move on to its next owner.

Leo would be happy to answer any further questions in the comments below.

Exterior

Pure heritage charm, with sweeping wings, a long bonnet, and vintage styling that gives it unmistakable road presence.

Wheels and Tyres

The car is fitted with 15" multi-spoke DTM Racing alloy wheels. All appeared to be in lovely condition, just a couple of age related marks and some slight wear to the finish at the centre, although nothing major here.

The front and rear of the JBA is fitted with Goodyear Eagle tyres and a spec of 195/60.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

Bodywork

The bodywork of the Falcon showed in lovely condition. Looking over the exterior, overall the panel lines appeared straight and well-aligned and no major dings or dents were spotted when looking around the car.

The engine cover on the passenger side sat slightly proud of the bodywork on close observation and the passenger door needs adjustment.

We’ve highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Showing well in a smart finish of maroon with cream upper panels, the coverage is even across the car with no noted imperfections to colour.

We didn't note any real concerns with the paint apart from a small paint chip to the rear passenger side wheel arch and handful of really minor marks across the front of the car. There were also a few blemishes to the finish of the engine cover on the passenger side.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The windscreen, side windows, front and rear lights all appear in excellent condition, and we could see no signs of scratching or chips on the glass.

Badges and emblems are present and look very smart.

We didn't note any issues on the seals on the exterior or roof, and these areas showed to be in-line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The interior cabin trim sections showed well, just a couple of very minor marks on the seats.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

Interior

The interior blends a handcrafted feel with traditional, functional design, offering the spirit of vintage motoring with modern usability.

Seats and Carpets

The seats showed well and looked presentable - there was some minor wear to both the driver and passenger seat base, although nothing really troubling.

Black carpets show in good condition, with the small boot reflected the same standard as the cabin, showing well.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

Dashboard

The retro wooden dash across the centre console all appears in excellent shape, and no real concerns.

The classic dial set up in the Falcon looked great and these were all functioning as expected.

The switches and controls all appear to be in really nice condition, with surfaces free from fogging or scratching.

The drivers section shows a speedometer, rev counter and fuel gauge. The main dash area features a clock, volt meter, oil and temperature gauge. All were all functioning without concern when starting up the car and we noted no issues with any warning lights when on the road.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A classic style Mountney steering wheel is in keeping with the rest of the interior - no major issues to report.

The wooden topped gear stick looks to be in great condition, no issues noted.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and appreciate the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

Mechanics

The JBA brings straightforward, reliable engineering that makes it as usable as it is distinctive on the road.

Engine and Gearbox

We noted no major concerns and the JBA performed without issue when running and out on the road.

We show the Falcon out on the road, changing gears without trouble.

We took the car out around some local roads with Leo to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting up and more detail in the engine bay.

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or other issues from the suspension when we were on the road, and it gave us no concerns in its performance - feeling solid whilst driving.

Looking over the underside of the car during our visit, we noted the front section showed a few signs of corrosion, although towards the rear, saw no concerning issues.

The brakes had no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey and brought the car to a stop without a problem, and with the kind of stopping power you'd expect.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

The Drive

The Ford JBA Falcon delivers a driving experience that’s as charming as its vintage looks. Its roadster-inspired layout and lightweight design make it surprisingly agile, while the smooth Ford-based mechanics ensure a comfortable, confidence-inspiring ride.

Whether winding through country lanes or enjoying a leisurely cruise, the Falcon rewards the driver with a relaxed yet engaging feel, combining classic motoring character with approachable, modern usability.

Electrics and Other

Being a retro style car, it has limited electrical functions although features an analogue clock, temperature, voltage and oil gauge on the centre dash.

The Falcon has a multi change CD player located in the boot with the main unit located under the dash in the cabin area.

We weren't able to fully test all of the functions when visiting the car, although Leo told us everything was in working order.

History and Paperwork

Lovely condition and full of character - the Falcon’s vintage-inspired design is beautifully complemented by thoughtful modern touches.

Covering very few miles since its life on the road in 2006, the JBA has limited paperwork to showcase its history. A key note however, is that the Falcon has had no observations or defects through its past 7 MOT's since 2016. The current MOT carries the future owner to November 2026.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.
