A striking F-Type V6 S that combines dramatic open-top styling, an engaging rear-wheel-drive chassis and one of Jaguar’s finest modern soundtracks.

Introduced for the 2013 model year, the F-Type was Jaguar’s first dedicated two-seat sports car for more than 50 years. Its lightweight aluminium construction, compact proportions and driver-focused interior represented a return to the company’s sporting roots.

The V6 S occupied the middle position within the original range, sitting above the 340PS F-Type and below the V8 S - often considered as the 'sweet spot' in the range. Its 3.0-litre supercharged engine produces 380PS and 460Nm of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheels through Jaguar’s eight-speed Quickshift automatic gearbox.

This example is finished in a handsome dark metallic blue with a black fabric hood, black leather interior and gloss-black multi-spoke wheels. Red brake calipers, silver roll-over hoops and the V6 model’s central twin exhaust outlets add further visual interest.

Philip has owned the F-Type for approximately two years and has enjoyed its combination of performance, comfort and unmistakable supercharged V6 soundtrack. Throughout his ownership, he has continued to look after the car carefully, and it comes with a great service history.

The Jaguar was serviced and checked over approximately 400 miles ago, with everything reported to be in good order.

Philip is selling simply because he fancies a change and feels that the time is right to experience something different.

Exterior

The dark metallic-blue paintwork, low proportions and muscular rear haunches give this F-Type tremendous road presence.

Wheels and Tyres

The Jaguar is fitted with gloss-black multi-spoke alloy wheels, which contrast effectively against the dark metallic-blue bodywork.

Red-painted brake calipers are visible behind the wheels and provide a subtle flash of colour, reinforcing the car’s sporting appearance.

The wheels present well overall, although some light marks and minor imperfections can be seen around the faces and outer edges upon closer inspection. These have been photographed so prospective buyers can assess their condition accurately.

It has a set Pirellis on the front and Radar to the rear. The tyres appear to retain a suitable level of tread.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

Bodywork

The F-Type’s aluminium bodywork presents very well and retains the clean, muscular shape that helped establish it as one of Jaguar’s most recognisable modern designs.

The panels appear straight, with consistent-looking gaps around the clamshell bonnet, doors and boot lid. We did not notice any significant dents or obvious areas of bodywork damage during our visit.

Distinctive details include the flush-fitting door handles, sculpted bonnet, pronounced rear haunches and deployable boot-lid spoiler. Together, these features allow the car to appear clean and elegant when stationary while retaining a purposeful sporting character.

The fabric hood folds neatly behind the seats, leaving the flowing rear bodywork uninterrupted when lowered.

Paint

The dark metallic-blue paintwork presents to a very good overall standard and changes character noticeably depending on the available light.

In bright conditions, the metallic finish reveals a rich blue colour; in the shade, it takes on a deeper and more understated appearance. It works especially well with the gloss-black wheels, black fabric hood and dark exterior trim.

The colour and finish appear consistent around the car, with an attractive gloss across the bonnet, doors, wings and rear bodywork. No major paint defects were apparent during our visit.

As expected from a performance car of this age, occasional minor marks, chips and other age-related imperfections may be visible upon close inspection. These do little to detract from the Jaguar’s strong overall presentation.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass and exterior trim present well, with no significant damage immediately apparent during our visit.

The swept-back headlamps, slim rear lights and gloss-black grille all appear clear and in good condition. The grille carries V6 S badging, while bright side vents provide an attractive contrast against the dark paintwork.

The electrically operated flush door handles are among the F-Type’s most distinctive details, sitting almost level with the bodywork when the car is locked.

At the rear, the slim light units, deployable spoiler and centrally mounted twin exhaust outlets create an especially purposeful appearance. The two central exhausts are a distinguishing feature of the V6 models.

A black fabric convertible hood is fitted and complements the exterior colour particularly well.

Interior

The black leather cabin combines modern Jaguar luxury with a strongly driver-focused layout.

Seats and Carpets

The sculpted sports seats are trimmed in black leather and present extremely well overall.

Both seats retain their shape and supportive bolsters, showing only light creasing consistent with normal use. We did not notice any significant tears, heavy wear or obvious damage during our visit.

The integrated head restraints and pronounced side bolsters hold the occupants securely, while the silver roll-over hoops immediately behind the seats provide an attractive visual contrast.

The black carpeting also presents well, extending through the footwells, behind the seats and into the luggage compartment. The door cards and centre console continue the predominantly black colour scheme and appear to have been carefully preserved.

Dashboard

The F-Type’s dashboard was designed around the driver, with the main controls clearly grouped and a substantial grab handle separating the passenger side from the centre console.

The dashboard and surrounding trim present very well, showing few signs of age. The instrument binnacle houses two large analogue dials, accompanied by a central information display.

A touchscreen infotainment system sits within the centre console above three rotary climate-control dials. One of the cabin’s most distinctive features is the pair of central air vents, which rise electronically from the dashboard when required.

An S graphic appears within the passenger-side trim, while the dark metallic centre-console finish complements the exterior specification.

A Meridian audio system is also fitted, with discreetly branded speaker grilles positioned within the doors.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The three-spoke leather steering wheel presents well and incorporates controls for the audio, telephone and driver-information systems. Philip told is the steering wheel buttons have some minor stickiness.

Gearshift paddles are mounted behind the wheel, allowing the driver to take manual control of the automatic transmission when desired.

The central SportShift selector is positioned within easy reach and can also be used to select gears sequentially. The surrounding console houses the engine start button and controls for the car’s various dynamic and convenience functions.

The steering wheel, gear selector and surrounding controls all present consistently with the excellent condition found throughout the rest of the cabin.

Mechanics

The supercharged V6 and rear-wheel-drive layout give the F-Type S a compelling combination of performance, balance and character.

Engine and Gearbox

Beneath the clamshell bonnet sits Jaguar’s 2,995cc supercharged V6 engine, producing 380PS and 460Nm of torque.

The engine performed very well during our visit, responding strongly and smoothly without any unwanted mechanical noises. Philip reports no known concerns, and the car received a service and mechanical check approximately 400 miles ago.

The active sports exhaust makes the engine’s soundtrack an important part of the F-Type experience. At lower speeds, the car can remain relatively refined; with greater throttle input, the exhaust delivers the sharper and more dramatic note for which the model has become particularly well known.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed Quick shift automatic gearbox. The closely spaced ratios help keep the supercharged engine within its strongest operating range, while the upper gears provide relaxed cruising.

During our drive, the gearbox changed smoothly and responded promptly. We noticed no unwanted noises, hesitation or obvious lag, whether progressing gently or asking more of the drivetrain.

The driver can also take greater control through the steering-wheel paddles or by moving the SportShift selector into its manual position.

Suspension and Brakes

The V6 S combines sports suspension with Adaptive Dynamics, allowing the damping system to respond continually to the road surface and the way the car is being driven.

Philip reports that the suspension is in good condition. During our drive, the Jaguar felt composed and controlled while retaining the comfort required for ordinary road use.

The car absorbed uneven surfaces well, with no unwanted knocks, rattles or other concerning suspension noises noted.

The braking system also performed strongly. The brakes felt progressive and reassuring, bringing the car to a stop confidently without any obvious pulling, vibration or unusual noises.

Red-painted calipers are visible behind the gloss-black wheels and contribute to the purposeful exterior appearance.

Overall, the suspension, steering and braking systems performed as expected from a well-maintained F-Type.

The Drive

The F-Type V6 S manages to combine the excitement of a focused sports car with the comfort and usability of a modern Jaguar.

Its low driving position, compact two-seat cabin and long bonnet immediately create a sense of occasion. The steering is direct, the brakes inspire confidence and the adaptive suspension keeps the body controlled without making the car unnecessarily uncomfortable.

The 380PS supercharged engine provides immediate and progressive performance, accompanied by an exceptionally distinctive exhaust note. Jaguar quoted a 0–60mph time of 4.8 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 171mph when the model was new.

The eight-speed automatic gearbox suits the engine particularly well. In normal driving it changes gear smoothly and unobtrusively, while Dynamic mode and the steering-wheel paddles allow the driver to become considerably more involved.

During our journey, the engine and gearbox performed without concern. There was no noticeable lag from the transmission, no unwanted drivetrain noises and no hesitation when the accelerator was applied.

With the hood raised, the F-Type offers the refinement expected from a modern grand tourer. Lower it, and the engine and exhaust become an even greater part of the experience.

Electrics and Other

The F-Type is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, Meridian audio, climate control, electrically operated windows and mirrors, deployable centre air vents and a powered fabric hood.

The cabin also incorporates selectable driving settings, steering-wheel controls, gearshift paddles and an electronic parking brake.

The deployable exterior door handles and rear spoiler are characteristic features of the original F-Type design, allowing the bodywork to retain its clean appearance when the car is stationary.

No specific electrical concerns were reported by Philip.

History and Paperwork

A great service history accompanies the Jaguar, documenting the maintenance it has received.

The most recent service and mechanical check were completed approximately 400 miles ago. Philip reports that the car was found to be in good order, with no problems identified during the inspection. He has owned the F-Type for approximately two years and has continued to look after it carefully throughout that period.

This represents an appealing opportunity to acquire a well-presented, properly maintained example of the original F-Type V6 S.

The current personalised plate of WUC 566 will be removed, reverting back to its age related plate of RV63 ZDI.
