The DB7 offers raw rear wheel drive power from the 5.9L naturally aspirated V12 - this mighty performance is all offered in the most luxurious cabin space.

The DB7 was first launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1993 with styling by Ian Callum, and production began in 1994 at a new Aston Martin factory in Oxfordshire. It was engineered alongside TWR group who built the new supercharged six-cylinder engine. In 1999 however, a V12 variant was unveiled.

The Vantage was fitted with a new front grille, fog and indicator lights, along with larger 19" alloys. This 2002 example comes fully equipped, finished in a luxurious Aysgarth Blue paint over Parchment and Pacific leather interior with wood veneer detailing. Motoring journalist Jeremy Clarkson stated that "the Vantage looks as good today as it did when it first nosed out from the factory", and we couldn't agree more.

This example is coming fresh to market from ~9 years ownership with David, he reserved the DB7 for occasional motoring during the summer, travelling across the country. It's been his first sports car and one he's cherished throughout his retirement.

Exterior

One of Sir Ian Callum's best work - the curvaceous and sleek design of the DB7 has its own very special place in Aston Martin's history.

Wheels and Tyres

The Vantage was fitted with larger 19" alloys, which really suit the car's sleek lines - these 9 spoke examples appear in good condition, there is the slightest sign of curbing on a couple of the wheels, but you'll have to get really close to notice. A small detail, but the Aston Martin centre caps are showing signs of wear and would benefit from being replaced at some point.

Importaintly, the tires are Pirelli P-Zeros all round and appear in excellent condition with lots of tread, and are dated 2021/22 and can be seen in more detail in the media pack below.

Bodywork

The bodywork of this powerful DB7 Vantage looks in great condition, with all the panel gaps around the car look to align well.

During our visit we didn't spot any obvious dinks down the flanks of the car, everything looking crisp and sharp. Both the doors, boot, and bonnet open and close with ease, and door shuts/sills. When getting really close to the car we did notice a slight patch of corrosion beginning to show on the passengers side door.

Paint

Finished in 'Aysgarth Blue' paint, it is a vibrant colour that really makes the DB7 stand out even more on the roads.

The finish of the paint is great, even in colour and finish across all the panels as you'd expect, and there are only a handful of very small stone chips to the front which have been touched up early on.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this example looks great and seems in line with the mileage and ownership, we didn't notice any major chips, cracks, or discolouration on our visit.

The window seals look great too and in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The rubber trim around the front bumper and lights is beginning to perish a little and would benefit from some minor attention. We also noticed some light humidity in the rear lights.

Interior

Finished with the finest wooden trim and leather interior - this cabin offers one of the most luxurious ways to travel.

Seats and Carpets

Fitted with cream with navy pipped leather seats, these are fully electric adjustable and offer comfort and support; the deep bolsters helping to keep you in place when putting the car through its paces. The back seats present in great condition, with the drivers seat showing some minor creasing and wear in line with the age and mileage.

The deep blue carpets appear in great condition with no major wear to note.

Dashboard

The dashboard is wrapped in navy leather and a dark walnut trim. The Aston Martin dials appear in great condition and are easily legible.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with a black leather steering wheel featuring dark walnut trim, the wheel presents in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The automatic gear lever is also in good order with no noticeable marks to mention.

Mechanics

The mighty V12 offers astonishing performance and a bellow that will not fail to make you smile.

Engine and Gearbox

The Vantage was given an upgrade in the form of a 5.9L V12 powertrain, producing ~420BHP and having a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds.

Please watch the "On the Road" video to see the car being started from cold, then run when up to temperature. On our short trip out, David operated the gears with ease.

Suspension and Brakes

David reports the car handles very well, providing silky-smooth performance on every journey, the DB7 stoped promptly on the road too.

With the car having been regularly serviced throughout its life, the suspension and brakes have always been tended to when needed e.g. brake fluid and safety checks.

The Drive

With elegant body lines, a comforting interior and a huge V12 under the bonnet, the DB7 Vantage offers both luxury with performance, allowing you to cross continents with much ease.

Electrics and Other

The original Aston Martin Traffic Pro entertainment unit is fitted along with a 6x CD stack in the rear.

All lights, buttons, and fully electric seats are working correctly on the car, David reports.
