Meet the owner

Kevin has owned the car for 6 years and used it lightly as a “high days and holidays” driver: as such his mileage has been minimal.

Along with the general maintenance and repairs, for which he’s always visited Aston Martin specialists, he’s made some functional improvements to modernise the ownership experience. These include front and rear cameras and an HDMI connection to allow an Apple smartphone to connect to the screen. This allows you to use your favourite navigation app, as well as Bluetooth connectivity to play your digital music or podcasts through the outstanding factory stereo.

It’s always been garaged and covered under Kevin’s ownership. The “Classic Additions” car cover can be included in the sale.

Exterior

The DB9 was an immediate hit and it’s easy to see why: it modernises the classic Aston Martin aesthetic in a subtle but distinctive way. This Aston is already a modern classic, and will undoubtedly be considered one of the most beautiful cars of its era. The photos and videos really help one to appreciate the condition of this car.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19” 10-spoke alloy wheels look stunning. Set in silver, the Aston Martin badge beams proudly in the centre.

The tyres look to be in excellent condition and are ready to be driven on the road. The grey brake callipers came as an expensive option when new.

Bodywork

The bodywork looks incredible and will no doubt be a classic in the future. Please review our exterior video for details of a couple of minor dents that we wanted to highlight.

Other than these it’s in stunning condition with no corrosion when we looked over the car.

Paint

Set in Meteorite Silver, the overall condition of the paint is even in finish and colour across the car.

There is some very minor scratching by the door handles that you might pick up in the videos, take a look through to see all the detail.

Glass and Trim

Both are in excellent condition across the car.

Interior

The cabin is a truly special place, and the focus of any Aston Martin. Cosseted in the supportive yet sumptuous Black Cherry leather drivers seat, you’ll forget your worries and enjoy life.

Seats and Carpets

The seats look to be in good condition, commensurate with the car’s low mileage, whilst the Black Cherry carpets look well kept and have recently been cleaned.

The seatbelts are set in Warm Charcoal, which again was an optional extra from new.

Dashboard

The centre-piece of the dashboard looks stunning in a Walnut Veneer finish. It is free from major scratches or chips.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The touchtronic paddles are situated behind the steering wheel, both in excellent condition.

Mechanics

There is nothing more satisfying than starting up a V12. Aston Martin is renowned for their bellowing acoustics, which is part of what makes this car so special. Please review the car being started from cold in the video on top of the excellent condition of the engine bay in the photos.

Engine and Gearbox

The 6L V12 engine is no stranger to performance and reliability. The DB9 can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h (60 MPH) in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 299 km/h (186 mph).

The six-speed ZF Friedrichshafen ‘Touchtronic’ semi-automatic gearbox features paddle-operated semi-automatic mode.

Suspension and Brakes

The brakes are large Brembo four-piston callipers in the front and rear set in grey.

The chassis benefits being 25% lighter than its predecessors and the car benefits from double-wishbone suspension that is extremely stable when accelerating quickly.

The Drive

A gentle joy to drive, the seats are like a glove that makes you instantly comfortable.

The car oozes class and comparing it to any of its competitors is like comparing chalk and cheese.

Electrics and Other

Kevin mentions you are able to connect your phone for enhanced entertainment features.

It also allows you to connect any sat-nav app via your phone: if we’re honest any will be preferable to a factory system in a car of this era. These modifications were carried out by “Aston Installations”, a well known and respected Aston Martin specialist who helped Aston Martin integrate Bluetooth in the later models of DB9 and Vantage.

History and Paperwork

The car has been cared for well by all previous owners, enjoying a great service history from various Aston Martin specialists.

The car has two former keepers, one of them actually being Aston Martin themselves, where it was serviced in their Press Garage. The previous owner acquiring the vehicle from them in 2006. Kevin has looked into the cars history with Aston Martin and has obtained a print out of all the work done under warranty while in their care. Best guess as to what the car was used for is as a press demonstrator.
