With an unmistakable V8 howl as you go through the rev range, the modern Vantage was always destined to be a winner.

Launched in 2005, the Vantage was initially available with a 4.3L V8 producing ~380BHP, propelling the Vantage to 60mph in ~4.9 seconds. From 2008 the V8 was increased to 4.7L giving some extra power, up to ~420bhp. In 2009 Aston Martin dropped their 6.0L V12 into the "Baby Aston" too making it even more potent.

This specific car is a 2007 V8 Vantage Roadster, the convertible allowing you to hear that V8 even better. It comes to market after ~2 years ownership, and has modest mileage with only ~49,616 miles covered in its ~16 year life. Finished in a triple black colourway, it presents very well and has just been serviced in May 2023, it's a car that is very much ready to enjoy for the rest of the summer season.

With the roof down and V8 growling, it quite the intoxicating experience.

Jonny has owned the car for ~2 years and 2 months, in this time he has covered ~4,000 miles, enjoying his time and miles in the car.

With a busy life and a classic that needs to be enjoyed too, he doesn't get as much time to enjoy the car as he'd like, for this reason he has decided to send the car to auction with us. In his ownership, he's had the car serviced by his local sports car specialist Fisher Performance, including a service in May this year. The V8 Vantage has a wide and purposeful stance, to go with its beautiful looks.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels have been refurbished in black to match the paintwork of the car, all the wheels looked in great condition with their glossy finish, we didn't notice any signs of damage on any of the wheels.

The tyres were a matching set of Bridgestone Potenza's, all looked in good condition with a fair amount of tread on them, ~3.3mm and ~5.0mm each pair respectively. Please have a look at the photos and video below to asses the condition of the wheels and tyres for yourself.

Bodywork

The bodywork of the Vantage looked to be in great condition, panel gaps are tight as you'd expect from an Aston. Sometimes these cars can suffer from corrosion where the aluminium can react to other metal, surfaces. This car isn't suffering from this, just a very small amount underneath the passenger side wing mirror, it was hardly noticeable.

Paint

Finished in the ever popular colour of "Onyx Black", the paint around the car looked in good condition, with even coverage and finish across all the body panels. The only thing we think worth noting was some swirl marks that come with age, and a small amount of lacquer peel next to one of the rear parking sensors.

Glass and Trim

Glass around the car looked in great condition too, we didn't notice any chips or cracks in the windscreen. The trim around looked in good condition, we did notice a slight bit of corrosion on the grille in the rear bumper, nothing major though.

The convertible roof was showing some signs of its age, especially around the areas where it folds, but was fully operational. Please view the photos and video below to review the condition of the glass and trim for yourself.

Interior

A sophisticated cabin, leather trimmed dashboard and door cards give a real sense of luxury.

Seats and Carpets

The seats looked to be in great condition, they are showing slight signs of age on the bolsters of the driver seat but nothing major.

The carpets looked in good condition too, we didn't notice any stains or excessive wear to them. Please take a look at the photos and video below to decide on the condition of the seats and carpets for yourself.

Dashboard

The dials looked in great condition, with a clockwise speedo and anti-clockwise rev counter. The temperature controls on the centre console were showing a some signs of use, with some marks noticed on them.

We did notice a mark on the leather of the dashboard, on the passenger side close to the door, take a look through the gallery to see the detail.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The standard Aston Martin steering wheel looked to be in great condition, showing only very slight signs of use.

The gearstick did look to be quite well used, it did look a little tired. Please take a look at the photos and video below to check the condition of the steering wheel and gear stick for yourself.

Mechanics

At it's heart lives the 4.3L V8, with its very distinctive sound through the rev range.

Engine and Gearbox

The 4.3L V8 growled into life at first attempt and performed flawlessly when out on the road, that noise is addictive. The manual gearbox performed well on the road too, going into gear without any issues to report.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension performed well too, we didn't notice any untoward noises coming from the suspension whilst on the road.

The brakes have recently been replaced and felt in good shape, stopping the car with no pulling to the side. Please take a look at the on the road video below to see how the suspension and brakes performed.

The Drive

As mentioned above, the Vantage performed very well on our short drive, the great sounding V8 ran with no unusual noises and had plenty of power to be used, paired to the manual gearbox it gives a fun driving experience. Electrics and Other

All the electrics in the car seemed to be working as you would expect, we tested the sat-nav, climate control, fuel cap and electric seats, all working well.

History and Paperwork

Finished in a popular black over black colour scheme, coming to market from ~2 year ownership, 4 former keepers and just serviced in May 2023, well worth a proper look and bid.

The Vantage has been serviced annually, with the only exceptions being 2014 and 2018. Between services the car has not really covered many miles, a few thousand on most occasions, there seems to have been a typo on the 2015 service, 29,040 has been written in on the service book but on the same MOT it reads 28,042. This car has lead a very honest life with leisure use over time taking the mileage to a modest ~49,600, a lovely example ready to be used and enjoyed.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a HPi check on the vehicle.

Hi Craig, I have seen the photo you’re referring to and assume it to be the glare or possibly the photographer has purposely hidden it. I can confirm that the distance to empty and mileage are always fully displayed.

Hi, in one of the pictures it seems as if the millage and the ‘distance to empty’ on the clocks are not fully displaying. Is this the case or is it just the pictures not come out properly?
