The Vantage marks a significant milestone in the timeline of Aston Martin cars. Introduced in 2005, it was the most agile and leanest Aston for decades. The hand-assembled 4.3-litre V8 is mounted low, to improve its centre of gravity and housed in a super-strong and light aluminium chassis. A classy take on the compact supercar, its robust engineering and comparatively modest maintenance costs help guide the Vantage as the company's best-selling model and set a firm foundation for Aston Martin's prospects.

This 2008 "Glacier Blue" V8 Vantage Roadster is complemented by a "Cream Truffle/Caspian Blue" leather interior, and comes to market after ~6 years ownership. Meet the owner

I was struck by the soothing yet striking colour of the car.

Dawn bought the car in 2019 as a retirement present to herself. A friend of hers, a former Lotus employee, spotted the car for sale in Suffolk and correctly assumed it was the perfect car for her.

Used as an occasional car and stored in a private underground resident garage, it saw regular use in the first few years of her ownership, but in the last two years, it has been used less. An almost flawless paint finish complements a solid presentation.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with 19” 5 spoke twin-arm alloys, the wheels are smartly presented with no road wear noted. The centre caps show minor signs of age.

The car is fitted with a set of Churchill tyres, which date from 2023 and have plenty of even tread.

Bodywork

The exterior reflects the car's careful ownership, with no panel damage of note. The panels are flush and have consistent shut lines. All doors open and close without any issues. The cars structure is positive with no issues noted on the floor pan, boot floor, engine bay or wheel wells.

Paint

The "Glacier Blue" paint has a consistent finish and offers a positive lustre. There are a handful of minor surface marks, generally confined to the odd nose chip and the occasional light mark on the paint - the overall impression is that it has worn its years very well.

Glass and Trim

The glass and seals are in good condition, with no issues with the lights and lenses. The headlamp covers showed mild signs of age but were free of condensation.

The trim is in decent shape, with signs of age noted on the door mirror mounts and grille, typical for this model. The roof is in excellent shape and raises and retracts without any problems.

Interior

The interior has been well looked after by its careful owners, and the specification gives it that extra special feel.

Seats and Carpets

The heated "Cream Truffle/Caspian Blue" leather seats are in good shape, with just mild creasing and treatable scuffs on the driver's side base.

The carpets are clean with no significant wear. The boot has seen careful use and like the interior bone dry.

Dashboard

The leather covered dashboard is in good shape, as is the centre console, well above the expectations of a car of this age.

The switches, buttons and dials are presented smartly, and all functions and controls are reported to work as they should. The headlining and door cards are free of any significant marks.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel presentation completes a well-cared-for interior and is in good shape, with its multi-function controls.

The paddle shifters for the automatic gearbox look good too, and the buttons for drive mode select on the centre console similar.

Mechanics

The punchy performance goes hand-in-hand with a soothing and relaxed ability to cruise.

Engine and Gearbox

The cold start process was straightforward with no unwanted dashboard lights flagged up. The engine fired up without any unwanted noises and the exhaust condensation soon cleared up. It has the sport exhaust option fitted. The 4.3-litre engine is cleanly presented, with evidence of regular maintenance.

The 6-speed sportshift automatic gearbox operates well, Dawn tends not to use the paddle shifts, but they have seen some recent use with no negative feedback. Watch the video to observe the car in action on the road.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension offered a smooth controlled ride, absorbing the bumps without unwanted noises.

The brakes were demonstrated to work perfectly, stopping the car with no vibration or judders.

The Drive

The low-slung driving position and top-notch cabin design make the driver feel in total control. The Aston Martin experience is measured by its ample finesse and presence.

The car pulls smoothly, engaging gears with no delays. Dawn is a careful driver and rarely opens up the car. We cruised at around 40 mph, feeling tight and planted. There were no unwanted mechanical noises when cornering, braking or steering. The car is naturally a confident handler, it performed without any drama with no issues with oil pressure or engine temperature.

Electrics and Other

Dawn told us all electrics are in working order as far as she is aware. It comes with a tailor-made car cover, spare Aston Martin dust caps and spare locking wheel nuts.

The first owner ordered the car with a carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser.

History and Paperwork

Coming to market from ~6 year ownership, just 3 former keepers with regular servicing and low miles, this car presents beautifully, has some choice options like carbon fibre front and rear trim and sports exhaust, and a stand-out colourway.

The car was first registered in June 2008 and has been owned by three long-term owners. It has a folder of its complete servicing history which also includes sundry items. The service book shows 10 Aston Martin main dealer Service stamps up to 2017, with 3 further services carried out by an independent. The last service was at 34,179 around ~800 miles ago in October.

The owner before Dawn was a Doctor who sold the car with a personalised plate which will be part of the sale. It has three keys, its complete owner's wallet and booklets, an original dealer spec list print-out, over 10 years' worth of MOT certificates and an MOT to October 2025.

Hi Dawn, I have a couple of tech questions, domyou know if the vantage has had a new clutch at any point in its life?
Has the engine ever had oil leak, bell housing area I believe is the location. Domyou know if the shocks are the original shocks?
Would it be possible to come and look at the car in the flesh, of so where are you located?
