With it's Tempest Blue paint and silver, twin-spoke wheels, this V8 Vantage has all the class you expect from an Aston Martin.

In 2005 Aston Martin brought back the V8 Vantage, a small, nimble sports car to rival the likes of the Porsche 911. Fitted with a 4.3L V8 producing ~380bhp, with a very distinctive sound. The Vantage has the beauty of its siblings, a large grille and wide stance also give it a menacing look.

2008 saw an update to the V8 Vantage, where the 4.7L power unit was introduced, which upped the power to ~420bhp. The V8 features a race-derived dry sump, allowing the engine to be mounted lower therefore keeping the centre of gravity low.

This particular car is a later 4.7L variant, it comes to market after ~22 months ownership with Norman and it has an MOT that's valid until 03.06.2024 and only ~52,958 miles on the clock.

Meet the owner

Having bought the Vantage for its GT credentials, Norman has made the most of it by taking the car on a couple of road trips to Europe.

Having seen one at a local car show, Norman got speaking to the owner of the Vantage and realised how affordable they were - he then found himself this lovely Tempest Blue example and had to have it.

Norman wanted to take the car on adventure; he has driven the car in France and Switzerland, enjoying every minute of it. Having done the trips Norman wanted to in the Vantage, he has decided to let us find a new owner.

EXTERIOR VIDEO

Exterior

A wide stance combined with gorgeous body lines; the V8 Vantage is a timeless stunner.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with silver twin spoke wheels and overall they looked in good condition - we just noticed a few markings; nothing a standard wheel refurbisher couldn't fix.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres were found all round the car, dated 2021 and looked to have plenty of life left in them.

Bodywork

The bodywork looks to be in very good condition - we just noticed a couple of scratches on the rear bumper and a very small ding on the driver side quarter panel, which is pointed out in the video below.

Paint

The Tempest Blue paint looked in good condition across the car.

Glass and Trim

All the glass looked in good condition, we didn't notice any cracks - there was just a couple of small stone chips on the top of the windscreen on the passenger side.

The chrome trim looked in great condition, all the grilles around the car looking good too, we didn't notice any issues with any of them.

INTERIOR VIDEO

Interior

Blue leather on the inside compliments the external colour; a very luxurious cabin greets the driver.

Seats and Carpets

The blue leather sports seats looked in great condition - we noticed a few little scratches on the driver's seat bolster, near where the seatbelt comes over the shoulder, but this is very minimal and looks to be in line with the age of the vehicle.

The carpets all looked in excellent condition too.

Dashboard

The clocks looked good and functioned as you would expect, with no issues.

Norman has fitted a new stereo with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which uses the built in swivel screen.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is great shape, we didn't notice any issues, and hardly any signs of wear.

Gear selection is made from buttons on the dashboard and flappy paddles; all looked in great condition too.

Mechanics

The 4.7L V8 commands attention - a superb beating heart for this grand tourer.

Engine and Gearbox

The engine sprung into life at first attempt with no issues. On the road the engine performed well, plenty of power and noise to go with it.

We didn't notice any unwanted noises from the engine. The gearbox performed well too, with smooth changes.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension felt tight, but not too harsh. The Vantage held the road well and we didn't notice any unusual noises coming from the suspension.

We didn't get a chance to properly test the brakes on our short drive, but they did feel good with no unwanted noises noticed either.

The Drive

On the short drive with Norman the Vantage felt great, very responsive with great road handling.

We didn't notice any creaks or other noises whilst on the road.

Electrics and Other

Everything we used worked as expected, including the stereo with Android Auto.

Norman told us everything was working on the car.

History and Paperwork

This lovely Vantage has been looked after by main dealers for its first seven services, and then specialist, McGurks, for the following six services.

The car has had the clutch and flywheel replaced in 2022.

Overall a great opportunity to own a well looked after example of the updated V8 Vantage.
