Introduction

Kristina
Professional Consigner

A four-seater V12 grand tourer... could there be any better GT car for the money.

The Aston Martin Rapide V12 marked the brand’s first four-door production model, blending traditional Aston Martin elegance with genuine everyday usability. Powered by a 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12, it produces around 470bhp and delivers effortless performance through a six-speed Touchtronic automatic gearbox, reaching 0–60mph in around five seconds.

Despite its size, the Rapide retains the poise and presence of a true Aston Martin. Its sweeping silhouette, swan-hinged doors and aluminium construction give it a sleek, sporting appearance, while the chassis and adaptive suspension provide a refined yet engaging driving experience suited to both long-distance touring and spirited driving.

Coming to market from just under a year and a half, this lovely example has been cherished by John, who has continued to maintain it to a high standard, just like its former keepers.

This listing was written from information supplied by Kristina after meeting John the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Retirement is a wonderful thing – and what better way to enter it.

Work hard, play harder; that’s what John decided once he felt it was time to retire, and he did so by treating himself to a lovely 2011 Aston Martin Rapide V12.

John’s search for something special was quite strict, as he wanted something big enough to carry passengers, useful enough to hold luggage on trips away, and a fantastic grand tourer. Even more importantly, it can easily hold the golf clubs and trolley for those relaxing days when a trip to the golf course is in order.

With the box for the Rapide ticked, John has decided to take his Aston Martin ownership further to another dream car, this time with not so many seats, the DB11, which will be fantastic fun, but unfortunately he doesn’t have the space for both, hence the reason for sale.

John will be on hand to answer any questions in the comments.

Exterior

Retaining the sleek sporting appearance while adding extra doors, the Rapide takes the luxury grand tourer to the next level.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with upgraded 20” Aston Martin alloy wheels, these are finished in light Anthracite and are in excellent condition, with no signs of damage or corrosion to the faces.

Two brands of tyres are fitted to the front and looking at the rear, both of which have plenty of tread remaining.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

image

Bodywork

With an aluminium construction and swan-hinged doors, the Aston looks fantastic from all angles. Looking around the car, the panel gaps appear to be visually equal and matching, as you would expect, and no dings or dents were spotted. There is a tiny amount of corrosion under the paint on the top edge of the passenger-side rear door handle, but it has to be said this is very minor.

We’ve highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

Finished in 'Onyx Black Metallic', the Aston's paintwork is exceptionally well presented. There are a couple of age-related marks, as you would expect, but these are minimal and less than you would expect for the age.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself, so please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to make up your own mind about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The windows on the Aston appear to be in good order, with no noticeable scratches. There is a minimal amount of delamination around the windscreen edge, but this is minor.

The clear headlights are in excellent condition, with no damage or discolouration to the lenses. The rear lights have been replaced with the later style, giving the rear end a cleaner, more modern look.

The contemporary look has been carried forward by wrapping the chrome window surrounds in black.

image

Interior

Embrace the luxurious feel with a full black leather interior.

Seats and Carpets

Trimmed in luxurious leather with white stitching, the seats are in excellent condition, both front and rear. The front seats benefit from being electric and having a memory function. Rear-seat passengers have the pleasure of built-in screens on the front seats, each with headphones.

All four door panels are in good order, with no damage spotted. Throughout the cabin, the carpets are clean with no signs of excessive wear, and this continues into the boot.

image

Dashboard

Matching the seats, the leather-trimmed dashboard is in excellent condition, with no damage to mention.

The instruments are working correctly, with no warning lights, and the odometer shows ~89,685 miles at the time of our visit.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with the original three-spoke leather steering wheel, this shows little sign of wear as you would expect.

The automatic leather gear knob is also in good condition, with very few signs of age.

image

Mechanics

The 5.9-litre V12 is arguably one of the best engines suited to an Aston Martin.

Engine and Gearbox

The V12 fires up with a distinctive tone that sounds fantastic! There has also been an exhaust modification which allows you to open the exhaust valves at the touch of a button, making it perfect for every occasion, whether you like it loud or quiet and equally handy so you don’t annoy any neighbours.

The car runs with no issues reported and performs superbly - during our cold start we saw no warning lights on the dash and you'll see a picture in the media pack of the dashboard with the car running confirming this.

In November 2025, John had all 12 spark plugs replaced along with the coil packs, and just 500 miles later, a new alternator was fitted.

The automatic gearbox offers smooth shifts in full automatic mode or when using the paddle shifters.

image

Suspension and Brakes

The Rapide sits as it should; no knocks or bangs have been reported, and it is said to handle as you would expect.

You will notice the brake calipers stand out nicely in a glorious shade of Aston Martin Racing Green. John has had these refinished, and they are in excellent condition. These bring the car to a stop in a straight line, with no juddering through the pedal.

image

The Drive

Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to take the Rapide out on the road but John told us how it performs on the road.

It has to be said, piloting the grand tourer is a pretty special experience. The naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12 delivers its ~470bhp with a smooth surge, accompanied by a rich, unmistakably Aston soundtrack that, let’s be honest, sounds phenomenal thanks to the switchable valves.

On the road, for a saloon car, the Rapide feels well planted, yet it disguises its large saloon status very well, offering confident and impressive handling through sweeping roads.

image

Electrics and Other

The switchgear in the Aston Martin is all in excellent condition - we didn't test everything during our visit but John assured us everything was working as expected.

History and Paperwork

With a service fewer than ~6,000 miles ago and new plugs just a few hundred miles ago, the Aston is ready to go.

This 2011 example was built in Austria, which the vendor tells us is widely regarded as more reliable than English-built cars.

The service book for the Aston shows servicing carried out at mileage intervals. There are also several invoices, some of which are for service work and others for parts purchased and the odd job carried out.

The car has a current MOT valid until 07.07.26, which was passed with no advisories.

Please note that the registration E7 FUS is not included and will be removed before the auction ends.

Costing over £150,000 when new, this well-maintained, well-presented 2011 Aston Martin Rapide is sure to be something of a bargain and perfect for the enthusiast who wants something that little bit more special from a four-door grand tourer.

We’ve carried out our usual seller checks, including verifying photo ID, the V5C, and an HPI check. This confirms the car has not been stolen, written off, or has any outstanding finance. Please note: this check does not include mileage verification.

We’ve summarised the car based on the seller’s information above. As always, we go to great lengths to photograph and film the car in high-resolution detail so you can make your own informed assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy reviewing everything in this listing.

Viewings are welcome for all our listings. Please get in touch to arrange a time – we just need to speak with you first and receive valid photo ID before confirming.

If you have any questions, no matter how small, please ask the seller in the comments section below before placing your bids, as bids cannot be retracted and form a binding contract if you win, just like in a traditional auction.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.

Network Connection – your device may lose connection and you’re not able to bid, or see the latest bidding history.
