Desirable motoring with a growling V12 soundtrack - the Vantage has good looks, great heritage and luxury prestige - all whilst delivering some seriously impressive power.

Handmade British automotive craftsmanship doesn't get much more exquisite than Aston Martin. One of the most leanest and agile in Aston's lineup, the Vantage has been one of the most successful models in Aston's history.

Packing its most powerful V12 engine into the Vantage meant a few factory tweaks to get all that aggression wrapped up; a new hood with large vents helping to lower underhood temperatures was updated and a stiffer set of front springs to support the extra V12 weight were also fitted. With nearly balanced weight across the front and rear of the car and a lower, firmer chassis the updates to the V12 makes the Vantage as comfortable taking on the track as it does taking in town and city roads.

The Vantage is up there with the most desirable cars in the world but offers that rare mixture of genuine build quality, luxury feel and a great sense of occasion when driving. Aston, unlike some other luxury car manufacturers, build relatively low numbers for all production models meaning that seeing a V12 on the road still remains a lovely rare treat.

Coming to market with ~35,931 miles on the clock at time of visit and with just 4 previous owners, this is a great example of a well maintained and stylish Aston. Having had a new clutch installed in 2020 and with the all important drivers manual 6 speed gearbox, the current owner has cherished this car over its ~3 year ownership and would make its new owner very happy for years to come. It comes with a service history by Aston Martin, and has just been serviced on the 2nd November.

Always an exciting event to drive, the steering is up there with the best and the cornering grip is insane.

Being a big fan of Astons the Vantage V12 is one of William's favourite cars, he says "Its a thug in in Saville Row suit, this car doesn't look out of place anywhere yet its a 510bhp super car that can be unleashed with just the touch of a button".

Having had no major work completed on the car over his ~3 year ownership, William mentions that the Vantage has been completely reliable, "I had a new clutch fitted in early 2020 as the original was coming towards the end of its life, I've kept the car as original as possible with the exception of the added hi flow cats and a remote controlled valved exhaust".

"The car is a real joy, even around town it burbles along with great presence without ever being an embarrassment. Having just brought a new house that needs updating, I'm looking to sell the car to fund a new kitchen and bathrooms".

Exterior

Styling that matches its performance, the muscular updates to the Vantage match the V12 monster under the bonnet perfectly.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19" split 5 spoke Aston wheels show really nicely against the class of the rest of the car. There was a slight sign of diamond cut marks on the alloy itself but nothing that caused us any major concern. Large carbon brakes with black branded callipers bring the Vantage to a stop as you would expect.

Pirelli P-Zero wrap all sides of the car, date coded 2016 with a great amount of tread on them - they look in good visual condition.

Bodywork

Across the bodywork the Aston is looking fantastic, no apparent marks or dings or anything untoward across the exterior of the car. The doors, bonnet and boot all align nicely and show no signs of issue.

Carbon bonnet scoops allow additional airflow into the engine bay with these sections also looking great. A carbon lip spoiler is also in place adding a subtle extra edge of style to the front of the Vantage.

A nice extra touch was the white and black Aston Martin badge that the factory put on these limited edition cars, differing from the standard white and green finish.

Paint

The paintwork on the car looked excellent, great finish and minimal issues across the panelling shows off the Vantage nicely. There were minimal amount of stone marks on the paintwork, we noted one slight chip near the offside wheel arch but we had to look very closely to spot this. Vinyl protective strips have been added to the front and rear arches to give an extra level of protection, overall we struggled to find an area of the paint that we had any concern with.

Glass and Trim

The glass is all presented in excellent condition, with no obvious scratches or chips which we could see at the time of our visit. The trims and seals are the same, matching the rest of the vehicle.

Interior

With welcoming leathers and exceptional detailing, the interior of an Aston Martin feels every part luxurious and stylish - everything that you'd expect from this level of build quality.

Seats and Carpets

The seats in the Vantage are in great condition, finished in black leather with white stitching, they show very little wear other than some slight markings where the handbrake raises against the right of the seat edge.

Both driver and passenger seats shows very little wear to the bolster sections which was great to see in the interior. Electrics for the seats are in working order and William told us that he's had no issues with their function or operation.

Carpet sections reflect the condition of the rest of the Aston showing nicely.

Equally impressive quality is shown on the interior trim, roof lining and rear sections.

Dashboard

Dash displays work as they should with no observed issues on our visit. William told us that he's had no issues with any of the electrical elements in the car. Whilst driving on the road we tested the radio and stereo system which were sounding great.

Piano Black mid sections offer a real quality to the dash area and are offset nicely with the leather bound dashboard. Instruments and dials worked as expected with no issues shown during our cold start, as noted in our "Mechanical Review" video

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

A multi-function steering wheel connects driver to road, excellent condition, straight forward in design but ultimately everything the driver needs. We noted no excessive wear and tear with the 6 speed manual gearstick showing in an equally great condition.

Mechanics

The Vantage engine is capable of delivering some blistering performance; pushing out ~510bhp and with 0-60 times at ~4.2 seconds, the growling V12 is enough to pin the smile back on your face permanently.

Engine and Gearbox

Even starting up from cold this Vantage sounds like an absolute animal. With all that power under the bonnet its a car that offers great presence, the engine sounds great even just idling but add some throttle to the mix and the sound is really something else.

There were no noises that were untoward or any issues that we observed when looking over the car and engine area. Whilst on the road the car went through its paces and gear changes with no hesitancy.

Take a look at our 'On the road' video where we see the growling V12 fire up from a cold start. We take the Aston onto some local roads to get a better feel for what this car is all about.

Suspension and Brakes

The car sits so proudly in its stance. Offering a firm but comfortable ride the car feels like grip and stability would pose no issue when out on the road. We noted no issues with knocks or unwanted suspension noises when we went out on the road with the Aston.

Large carbon brakes give the driver confidence in the Vantage's stopping ability, coming to a halt as you'd expect from a car like this.

The Drive

The big engine, small body formula works so well on the Aston and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face whatever the occasion.

Working Aston’s biggest engine into its smallest sports car makes for an explosive combination resulting in a thrilling driving experience.

Electrics and Other

The Bang and Olufsen radio and stereo was sounding great whilst out on the road with no apparent issues that we noted - William told us this was an expensive option coming in at around £10k.

William said there's no issues with any of the electrical components within the car and to the best of his knowledge, everything was working as it should.

History and Paperwork

With ~35,931 miles completed and a new clutch installed the Vantage is set and ready to drive, and having been lovingly cherished over the past ~3 years by its current owner this Aston shows as impressive today as it did from first purchase.

Keeping the car as intended was a clear thought in the ownership of this vehicle, works completed have been out of consideration with the clutch being replaced by Aston specialist, 'Pugsley & Lewis' in 2020 benefitting the future owner. The Vantage has a full service history record with Aston Martin and is a real drivers car with its 6 speed manual gearbox and V12 powerhouse under the bonnet. William has also paid attention to the upkeep of this cars looks spending over £500 on paint correction in April 2022. The car has been serviced by Grange Aston Martin in Brentwood on the 2nd November 2022, and also has a fresh MOT going through to next year too, to supplement the main dealer history from Aston Martin this car has.

In terms of non standard items on the car, the Vantage has hi flow cats and a remote controlled valved exhaust. Should the new owner want to revert back to the standard set up, the original cats are supplied with the car and the valved exhaust relay can be easily removed from the fuse board should the new owner wish to do so.

Hello, Please could you tell me:
Is the car on its original brake discs?
How many sets of brake pads has it had?
What was the mileage when the most recent set of pads were fitted?
Have the spark plugs and/or coils been changed?
If not, when are they due to be replaced?
Who was the first owner? Was it a demo/press car or similar?
