From launch, the R8 was offered with a range of powertrains and configurations that broadened its appeal beyond the traditional supercar crowd. The early cars featured a high-revving V8, paired with either a gated manual or Audi’s R tronic transmission, before the line-up expanded to include the more potent V10 models.
