Introduction

Darren Rungasamy
Editor and Photographer

A refined, all-weather performance hatchback blending explosive power with everyday luxury.

Since its debut as a premium hot hatchback in 1999, the Audi S3 has blended rich motoring heritage with modern, subtle styling. Powered by a potent turbocharged 2.0-litre engine paired with legendary Quattro all-wheel drive, it delivers effortless power and explosive performance across all weather conditions. Inside, superb refinement and supreme cabin comfort make it a quietly understated yet supremely versatile performance car for everyday use.

Benefiting from contemporary engineering and decades of chassis development, the Quattro setup - paired with the slick, 7-speed S Tronic DSG transmission - offers an exceptional balance of practicality, reliability, and thrills. Equipped with adaptive dampers, heated leather seats, and dual-zone climate control, the car also remains comfortable and dependable for daily commuting 365 days a year.

Coming from ~3 years with our vendor, this 2018 Audi S3 Sportback TFSI Quattro is finished in elegant 'Navarra Blue' over a black leather interior. Showing just 50,891 miles on the clock, it boasts six documented services and presents in good condition throughout. It is accompanied by its owner's wallet and handbook, and two keys It was last serviced in July 2025 (~1,500 miles ago) and comes with a clean MOT valid through to July 2027.

This listing was written from information supplied by Darren after meeting Charles the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

In many ways, it feels like a spiritual successor to the iconic Lancia Delta Integrale EVO.

No stranger to classic cars, and with a particular passion for Lancias, Charles favourably compares the Audi to an Integrale. On a tight, wet, twisting country road, the fundamental driving line of both cars would be identical. However, the Audi is far more proactive and demands much less of a physical workout from the driver.

Charles is now selling the car due to lack of use, as other vehicles in his collection currently occupy his time.

He would be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

Understated but near-perfect paintwork paired with sharp, aggressive S3 styling.

Wheels and Tyres

The diamond-cut 18" alloy wheels present well, showing minor but treatable rim scuffs on both fronts.

The front and rear wheels are fitted with Continental SportContact 7 tyres with a spec of 225/40/18 - these are date-coded from 2024. They all have legal tread and are in good shape.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

image

Bodywork

The exterior bodywork is in excellent condition, with no immediate issues around panel alignment, panel gaps, or surface damage. All doors open and close smoothly.

The underside of the car is sound, with no notable issues to the floor pan or suspension mounts.

The engine bay is in good order.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

The 'Navarra Blue' paintwork has consistent coverage, with no significant marks apart from a few minor chips on the nose. The paint retains a good shine, with only a few minor surface blemishes, and overall it presents very well.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The glass, seals, lights, and lenses look smart, with no issues regarding the well-fitted trim. The bumpers sit flush with the bodywork, though the rear bumper has a few surface scuffs and minor marks.

image

Interior

A refined, tech-focused cabin boasting exceptional build quality and comfort.

Seats and Carpets

The black leather seats present well, with no significant signs of age.

The carpets are completely dry, though a deep valet would likely further improve their appearance.

image

Dashboard

The dashboard has been well looked after. A handful of minor marks aside, there are no issues with the overall presentation, and the switches, controls, and dials remain in good condition. All are reported to function as they should.

The headlining, door cards and trim are in good shape.

The boot area would benefit from a deep clean, and minor marks were noted on the inner hatch lid trim.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The multi-function steering wheel and gear lever are in good condition.

image

Mechanics

The 2.0-litre EA888 turbocharged engine is notable for its impressive flexibility.

Engine and Gearbox

Starting the engine from cold was straightforward, with no unwanted vibration or hesitation. All dashboard lights went out promptly as the engine settled into a smooth idle, and there was no unwanted exhaust smoke.

The engine has a good service history, and the service interval light is not illuminated, having last been serviced around 1,500 miles ago. We did not spot any leaks from the car on the day.

The DSG gearbox is slick and smooth, operating with the expected precision. The Quattro-specific Haldex oil was changed in 2024.

image

Suspension and Brakes

This car is fitted with Audi's Magnetic Ride (adaptive suspension) option.

The suspension components show mild signs of age, but these appear to be purely cosmetic. The actual performance, in terms of damping, control, and comfort was entirely positive, with no knocks, creaks, or thuds heard during the test drive.

The brakes operate without any reported faults, slowing the car safely and confidently with no negative feedback. The rear pads were replaced in 2025.

The Drive

The 2019 Audi S3 (8V) Quattro, which produces 310 PS (306 bhp) and up to 400 Nm of torque from the factory, represented a complete ground-up redesign. It neatly resolved the previous generation's flaws, while adding massive engineering upgrades. Features such as a stronger cylinder head alloy, tougher pistons, and a larger IHI IS38 turbocharger point to an engine that is not only over-engineered but also widely recognised as capable of handling significantly more power.

Supremely confident on the road, power builds smoothly from around 2,500 rpm; and while Charles didn't push the car to the redline, turbo lag is minimal. The car drives with great civility, maintaining a muted and refined character.

The Haldex-based Quattro system operates primarily in front-wheel drive to save fuel during normal cruising, then stepping in to reduce drama and uncertainty when driving harder - and making the car feel planted and secure at all times.

The steering was precise, placing the car on the road with no play or wobble; it remained compliant and direct.

The gearbox modes were not tested, but Charles assures us that it functions in both comfort and sport mode. He has been satisfied with the car's reliability and has not noted any issues with the oil pressure or engine temperature.

Electrics and Other

The car is completely standard, with no upgrades or remapping.

History and Paperwork

Diligent maintenance and careful use are highlighted by a great service history and a clean, advisory-free MOT record.

Charles bought the car in late 2023. First registered in July 2018, it has benefitted from six services, split between Audi main dealers and independents, along with two Haldex oil changes; the most recent in 2024. Aside from replacement rear pads in the same year, the car has required no attention outside of regular service intervals. Notably, the car boasts a clean sweep of MOT passes from new with no advisories ever documented.

It was last serviced in July 2025 and has covered around 1,500 miles since. It comes complete with two keys, its owner's wallet and handbook, and an MOT valid until July 2027.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment of the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bids, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.

Network Connection – your device may lose connection and you’re not able to bid, or see the latest bidding history.
