Introduced in 2003, the Bentley Continental GT marked the beginning of a new era for the marque under Volkswagen Group ownership. Built at Bentley’s Crewe factory in Cheshire, it successfully combined traditional British craftsmanship with modern manufacturing techniques, creating one of the brand’s most accomplished grand tourers.

The Mulliner Driving Specification was introduced in 2005, offering an even higher level of luxury and sporting appeal. Enhancements included 20-inch split-rim seven-spoke alloy wheels, drilled alloy pedals and footrest, a chrome-finished gear lever, diamond-quilted leather to the doors and rear quarter panels, embroidered Bentley seat emblems, and an extensive choice of two-tone leather and veneer combinations, including dark-stained burr walnut.

Nigel had always fancied owning a Bentley, and this low-mileage, well-specified Continental GT in Cypress Green was the perfect fit. He has owned the car for ~5 years, although it has covered limited mileage in recent years.

The addition of the Mulliner Driving Specification helps set this example apart, with a selection of tasteful interior and exterior options fitted from the factory. Nigel has taken great care of the car throughout his ownership, including having it professionally ceramic polished last year.

Finished in Cypress, this Continental has a commanding yet understated presence, perfectly complementing its sophisticated character.

Wheels and Tyres

This example is fitted with optional 20" GT Speed alloy wheels, which appear to be in great condition overall. Some scratches on the N/S/F were attented to in 2021, being picky on our visit we did notice a scratch on the n/s/r wheel near the central hub cap.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli Pzero's dated 2017/2018 they appear to be in good visual condition, with a good amount of tread remaining and no visible cracking on the outside walls.

Bodywork

The bodywork appears to be in great overall condition, with panel gaps aligning visually well around the car.

As to be expected, there are some minor age-related marks including a small scratch to the offside wing mirror, a small dent on the rear offside wing, and a very small chip on the nearside door near the wing mirror.

Finished in a lovely Cypress Green, the paintwork presents in great condition with even colour and coverage across all panels.

The glass is in great condition for the car’s age - during our visit we didn’t notice any obvious cracks or discolouration.

The window seals appear good and consistent with the overall condition of the car.

Interior

The handcrafted interior is every bit as impressive as the exterior, blending exquisite materials with outstanding comfort and craftsmanship.

Seats and Carpets

The Portland Mulliner diamond stitched leather seats, have retained their shape well over the years, with only very light creasing. The Dashboard features burl walnut with Beluga secondary hide. The car was also optioned with deep pile over mats front and rear.

The door cards and carpets present in a similar manner, showing consistent condition throughout the interior.

Dashboard

The dashboard in this Bentley shows no major damage or scuffs during our visit.

The odometer displayed ~28,778 miles at the time of consignment.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The 4-spoke Bentley leather steering wheel was in great condition.

The gear selector also looked in good shape too, both consistent with the condition of the car.

Mechanics

Beneath the bonnet lies Bentley’s formidable twin-turbocharged 6.0L W12, delivering effortless power, immense refinement, and exceptional high-speed capability.

Engine and Gearbox

The real centrepiece of this Continental GT is the 6.0L twin-turbo W12 engine, which produces 552bhp, 0-60mph speed of 4.8s, and a top speed of 197.6mph.

On the day of our visit, we started the car from cold, and it performed well on the road - the engine pulled nicely, idled smoothly, and ran well.

Nigel reports that the car starts from cold with no issues and drives well with its smooth automatic gearbox sending the power to all the wheels. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, driving around, and for a closer look underneath the Continental GT.

Suspension and Brakes

On the drive out, Nigel took us around some local roads. We heard no obvious knocks, bangs, or squeaks from the suspension, and overall, the car performed as expected with no observed issues.
