Launched in 2003, the Bentley Continental was the first car to be made under VAG management, and has succeeded to become one of Bentley's finest grand tourers, using mass production manufacturing techniques from the factory in Crewe, Cheshire.

In 2005 the Mulliner Driving Specification was introduced, allowing further customisation of an already well-spec'd car. An array of interior trim options, 20-inch 2-piece 7-spoke alloy sports wheels, drilled alloy sports pedals and footrest, gear lever finished in chrome, two-tone leather and veneer combinations, diamond-quilted hide to facing doors and rear quarter panels, seats with embroidered 'Bentley' marque and dark-stained burr walnut, to name a few.

This Bentley comes to market from ~4 year ownership, just 4 former keepers registered, the desirable "Mulliner" specification, and a very modest/low mileage of ~39,700 miles covered. It comes with servicing history from Bentley, most recently serviced in March 2022, and is presented in a the very attractive "Moroccan Blue" over contrasting cream leather interior.

Meet the owner

The shapes and lines of the Continental are some of the most perfect ever seen on a car of this calibre.

Initially attracted by the beautiful colour combination of the Bentley, Ernest has owned this example for ~4 years. The addition of the Mulliner pack really helps set it apart from some others with its tasteful interior. Being a purist at heart, Ernest likes his cars to be totally standard; immaculate, original and the way the manufacturer intended, with this Continental comfortably ticking all those boxes. No modifications have been added to the car and it comes with servicing history from Bentley, most recently by Bentley Leicester in March 2022, Ernest telling us "The Bentley technician actually came to talk to me to say that it was the cleanest Continental of that age he had ever worked on!".

With very limited mileage added to the car since current ownership, Ernest lets us know that a round trip to Scotland at ~650 miles, was the longest journey that has been driven in the car over his ownership of the car "The Bentley behaved impeccably and drew admiring glances everywhere we went". Beautifully crafted, the colour of this car helps to show the design in its best light.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with the factory set of 20" Bentley split-rim alloys, they present in a very good condition all around. Overall the wheels and brakes looked great with no noticeable signs of curbing on the wheels when we visited the car.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Rosso tyres. It's worth noting that the tyres have some age to them with the rears showing slight signs of cracking which were also noted on as an advisory on the previous MOT. Take a look over the exterior gallery section for a close up view of the wheels and tyres on the Bentley.

Bodywork

The classic Bentley shape is something that is immediately impressive across the angles around the car. The flared wheel arches, smooth lines and craftsmanship that looks effortless over the exterior. All of the panels look to line up exceptionally well with no apparent marks or issues on the bodywork. Ernest tells us that he's never taken the car out in the rain, the car staying garaged over the winter months away from the salty roads, the underside of the car clearly reflecting this care.

Paint

Being dry stored and in a heated garaged for the majority of its life, the paint shows in a really impressive way. Featured in the "History" gallery is the car cover which is used when the car is not in use.

We did note a couple of stone chips across the "Moroccan Blue" paint, with a few being noted on the roof area, nothing that caused a major concern but may be worth the future owner looking over these at a later date. There was some light scuffing below the front bumper area but being out of sight didn't pose a problem to us when we looked around the car. These are small things we think, especially as Ernest has told us that the car is wearing the original paint across the car, as he had micro-depth checked in the past.

Glass and Trim

The glass is all presented in excellent condition, with no obvious scratches or chips which we could see at the time of our visit. The trims and seals are the same, matching the rest of the vehicle.

Interior

The Bentley's interior is equally as pleasing to the eye as it is to the touch, the cabin showing a beautiful finish and luxurious comfort.

Seats and Carpets

Supportive and inviting diamond stitched cream leather seats keep the driver and passenger safely in place when in the car. Showing in a great condition the Bentley black stitched logo on the headrest section gives the seats an extra level of detail, a small touch, but it just shows how much craftsmanship has gone into the car overall with the seating no exception to this.

Condition looked great across the seating areas, we did note some small signs indentation to the passenger side door card, just from where the seatbelt often rests. The electronic seat functions worked as they should also. Matching the rest of the interior quality the carpets were showing in a great condition. With barely a mark on the carpets and flooring it shows how much the car has been looked after with very little usage.

Dashboard

The dark-stained walnut finish on the dash shows in a really smart condition. Beautifully cultured, the chrome trim of the dials set against the dark wooden materials look great. Kept in a very clean and considered state the interior is a particular highlight of the car.

Dials, buttons and gauges are functioning as they should with Ernest letting us know that he had no issues with any of the functionality of the cars dash setup including the mobile phone connectivity function. With a dash set clock designed by Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling, quality is everywhere in this car.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Presented well, the blue finish of the interior trim areas extends to the steering wheel also. The four spoke wheel matches the condition of the rest of the cabin area in a great way. The chrome finished gear-shifter shows in an equally respectable condition with no major marks or issues present on the surround or lever.

Mechanics

The Twin Turbo 6.0L W12 really puts this car into a league of its own, a seriously fast car when asked that can handle itself well without concern.

Engine and Gearbox

With plenty of power and plenty of grip thanks to its electronic stability system and four wheel drive, the Continental GT is a car with a lot of pulling power. The current owner lets us know that the automatic gearbox runs through its paces with no issues or struggle and includes paddle shift functions for greater driver control.

The engine showed no signs of concern when we started the Continental in the current owners garage. Take a look at our "Mechanical" video where we see the Bentley starting up from cold.

Suspension and Brakes

In 2019 the car was noted on that years MOT as advisories for the brakes. To keep the car as safe as possible, Ernest replaced both the discs and brake pads at the front of the car.

As the car wasn't taxed at time of our visit we were unable to take the car out for a full drive, speaking with the current owner he let us know that he had no issues with any of the suspension elements nor any problems with the brakes or their function.

The Drive

Comfortable, refined and considered but with enough pace and aggression to make a long journey one filled with excitement. This car is absolutely a head turner with its great looking shape and quality.

Bentley is famed for its standards and attention to detail with this Continental delivering everything it should plus more. The addition of the Mulliner pack gives the future owner a real quality car that has plenty to deliver.

Electrics and Other

A great looking car with a host of electrical elements designed to aid the driver at every opportunity. CD changer system, mobile phone functionality, electric seats and many other functions that showed no issues across the car when we visited.

History and Paperwork

With just over ~1,500 miles being covered over the past two years - low usage brings this Bentley to market and boasts excellent condition and Bentley servicing history.

A real quality piece of motoring that has plenty to offer its future owner. Low mileage, excellent condition both inside and out and a great standard of service history. This is a car that is worth a good look at, included as part of the car is the Mulliner pack which boasts; 20 inch, seven-spoke alloys, diamond quilted seats and door trims as well as drilled alloy pedals and chrome gearshift. The car not only looks the part but goes well also with its 6.0L W12 automatic engine and gearing paddle shift option.

As well as a full Bentley service history, the car has had its front discs and pads replaced and was also treated to a full professional detailing in 2021. Since then, very few miles have been put on the car so the car shows in a really beautiful way with its Moroccan Blue and contrasting cream leather interior.
