Introduction

Pairing classic 90s BMW styling with thrilling performance, the M3 is a standout in the golden era of M cars.
The BMW M3 Evolution Convertible (E36) represents the perfect balance between high-performance engineering and open-air driving pleasure. As the final and most developed version of the E36 M3, this car showcases everything that made BMW’s M Division a standout in the '90s - sharp handling, responsive steering, a chassis that communicates with the driver at every turn and fully capable of delivering exhilarating performance. The Evolution model added on extra features compared to the standard M3 variant with Double Vanos valve timing technology, key upgrades such as light weight components, new engine management system, and a six-speed Getrag gearbox. The suspension was enhanced with stiffer springs, quicker steering, and improved Teves MkIV ABS. These upgrades, combined with a limited-slip differential and larger brakes, gave the M3 Evolution a step up in performance and handling.
This low mileage example comes to market from ~24 years previous ownership, just 1 former keeper registered, and has a current MOT valid until 7th October 2025. Having been dry-stored underground not covered for most of its life, the BMW presents in excellent condition inside and out, carries 2 sets of keys, a tracking system, which needs subscribing to, a complex alarm and Harman Kardon premium sound system. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, the M3 Evolution remains an iconic and highly desirable part of BMW’s performance car legacy with this one standing out as one of the best we've seen, complete with rare and original BMW parts in the boot :- toolkit, warning triangle and medical kit.

I WANT ONEAsk Questions
Hi – yes any oil visible is per the MOT comments – I think maybe it does spot a little, I haven’t examined it as the MOT would have failed had it been significant.
Regarding cash – I’m having to follow Trade Classics guidance on this one, and that is not to accept cash. Hope that helps, Paul
Hi Paul, I wasn/t trying to go against guidelines, only bit I could find in the Trade Classics FAQ was the following so I wanted to check:
After you win an auction the Trade Classics Fee (Buyer Premium) is automatically charged to your stored card on completion. The balance, i.e. the final bid value shown on the listing and in your confirmation email is due to the seller within 7 days.
Simply click on the seller’s name in the listing to send them a direct message to organise payment, e.g. bank transfer or cash on collection.
Hi Paul, I see there is quite a bit of oil toward the rear of the engine, presumably from the timing chain cover leak noted in the last service – does it show on the floor if the car is left parked, or is it just a gentle seep?
Also, is cash on collection availble to the successful buyer?
Hi – there is zero corrosion on the rear wheelarch outer panels whatsoever. I think what you are looking at is the joint between the rear wing and the upper sill in the return flange only on the driver side, there is a mark there which is stable and on the surface only and possibly caused by a stone chip. I guess a lot of cars of this age will have had the wheelarch flange undersealed as this is normal, as you can see this is all body colour. The nice thing about the cars’ mileage and underground storage is that the body is in amazing condition for a 27 year old car! Hope that helps! Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, I can 100% see bubbling on the wheelarch lip on photo 62. Certainly a nice low mileage example but I wanted to check if there was any other bubbling or rust that wasn’t mentioned that I will need to rectify. Thanks.
Hi – that’s as I said but it’s not endemic, on the skin or bubbling through at all, I think probably kicked off by stone chip damage as it’s the return flange. There is no other rust. Cheers Paul
Hello, I see some bubbling on the rear arches in the pictures that is not mentioned in the bodywork section, how bad is this? Is there any other corrosion? Thank you.
