Introduction

Great driver with a rebuilt engine and gearbox. It's silky smooth and a joy to drive - as well as being solid as a rock! With its very low reserve, it's a good value way into Mopar.

I'm selling off my collection of cars as a result of downsizing to a smaller property for retirement.

This car is rock solid underneath and won't let you down. It's simple and cheap to run, is MOT and TAX exempt, and insurance is around £65 a year for me. Maintenance is easy and accessible.

The engine idles at around 400rpm and just effortlessly glides around. If you don't light up the tires you will be getting double digit mpg figures all day long! This 5.2 V8 was made to be silent and efficient (as economical a V8 of this age can be!) compared to the 5.9 that was made for aggressive acceleration.

I have put a new exhaust on to make her sound right: not loud but heard. She easily cruises at and above legal limits and can sit at three digits all day long if you plan on visiting all the petrol stations! The super light steering and the brakes will send you through the window when you first press the pedal: it's not what you expect from an American classic.

Cornering...well, lets just say you'll be using the brakes at every bend, it's American after all!

Exterior

The white body with blue roof makes this coupe look stunning. It is a five footer model.

Get close and you can see the imperfections around the glass and two areas that need touch ups as shown in the photos. Underneath it's solid and there's only minor surface rust.

Wheels and Tyres

New wheels and tyres all round, with the always-excellent BF Goodrich white wording on the sidewalls.

Bodywork

Bodywork is straight and there's no filler I can find.

The chrome has dents here, there, and everywhere. It's soft metal, so with time can be put right but I feel it looks the part for the car. It's a driver that's enjoyed and used often. I don't polish it every week, I go shopping in it and often the school run!

Paint

It's Ford white and blue and I'd call it "okay" condition.

There are odd bits of imperfections and small areas that need re-doing. I believe little touch-ups are needed, not a full re-spray - unless you're looking for a show car!

Glass and Trim

Average for age, please see the photographs.

The electric windows need new switches: sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. The drivers window always works and the pop/twist out ones work perfectly so it has never bothered me.

The cabin is pillarless when the windows are all down!

Interior

Great for the year!

Seats and Carpets

There's a small rip in rear seat, which could do with a recover!

The headliner is great and the carpets are okay. Expect a nice used car, not a show car.

Dashboard

There are small cracks in dash as expected.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Good, though there's some pitting in the chrome per the photos.

Mechanics

Solid, reliable and rebuilt!

Engine and Gearbox

Both engine and gearbox were rebuilt less than two years ago after the 5.9 seized. The engine was pulled out and done right.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension and brakes are good.

There's no sag and it's a great ride.

The brakes were done last year.

The Drive

Fantastic. This car is a joy to drive.

Electrics and Other

Windows need replacement switches.

It also needs a new heater matrix or to rebuild the current one.

History and Paperwork

She's serviced twice a year, though there's no history as it's super easy to do at home - and I trust myself more than a garage!

MOT test and VED/tax exempt.
The seller states that the last service was done in July 2025 and included: new diff oil, new engine oil, and filters.
Included in the sale is a box of spares. The interior trim / arm rests that are missing in the pics are in a box.

From Trade Classics:
This is a Market Auction listing, meaning we have not visited and photographed the car - instead the seller has supplied the images and written the description. However we’ve done all our usual seller checks, including photo ID that matches the V5, and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPi that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

Viewings are welcomed, so please get in touch with us via the 'contact us' page - we just need to speak to you first on the phone, have you register on the site, and also send in valid photo ID before confirming a suitable time to visit.

Like all our auctions, if there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bids, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - the Buyer's Premium is not refundable in any instance, just like a traditional auction house.
