The last hand-built Ferrari model produced - Ferrari didn't disappoint with the F355 spider, and neither will you be with this superb ~24,000 mile example.

This very desirable F355 bridges the gap between the old small V8's to the recent 200MPH supercars. It's the last hand-built Ferrari, yet the first to embrace modern technology. The 355 was launched at the Geneva motor show in 1994. It was available in Berlinetta or GTS form with a Manual gearbox. Ferrari developed the new F129B V8 engine for the F355, and it used the V12 F1 programme to adopt five-valve-per-cylinder on the head, which raised the rev limit to a whopping 8,500RPM. Furthermore, a 2mm increase in the bore took the capacity from 3.4L to 3.5L, offering 375BHP, giving the F355 the highest spec horsepower per litre of any naturally aspirated engine on sale. In 1995, after some 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, the spider was released, which was the first Ferrari produced with an electronically powered soft top.

This is a true gem of a Ferrari for one lucky buyer! Coming originally from California, the F355 has covered just over ~24,032 miles and is in stunning condition. Presented in the timeless combination of "Rosso Corsa" over "Nero" leather interior, it's a favourite amongst fans of the marque, this car has recently been serviced by the local Ferrari main dealer JCT600.

This Ferrari is remarkable, having owned it for over 12 months, it’s certainly something I wasn't keen on selling!

Hasan is the owner of this fantastic 1996 Ferrari F355 Spider. He purchased the car just over 12 months ago to advertise for sale in his luxury car showroom. The problem is that with a car like this, you can get attached to them and then don't want them to go, which is what happened in Hasan’s case. He has used the car a few times, moving it about and taking it for a run-out, just to keep everything moving as it should. Obviously nothing to do with the fact that every time you step into the F355, it puts a massive grin on your face.

With it in and out of the showroom for 12 months, Hasan has decided it has got to go and let someone have the pleasure of owning this modern Italian classic. He's had a service by JCT600 the local main dealer for Ferrari in Yorkshire actioned in December. What's not to love about the F355 Spider, nothing is what - possibly one of the best looking Ferrari’s to date.

Wheels and Tyres

The original 18” Ferrari Speedline alloy wheels look to be in excellent condition with no damage noticed. The tyres are a matching set of Hankook V12 Evo with a good amount of tread remaining.

Bodywork

Curvy, boxy, perfect! The Ferrari ticks all the right boxes when it comes to styling, and with over 1,800 hours in the wind tunnel, the F355 Spider was born creating the stunning convertible sports car. The roof comes down as it should and folds away; you then put the tonneau cover on to finish the look of the Spider.

The car's condition is simply stunning, the panels look to align as they should, and there are no annoying dings to spoil the lines, just what you'd expect for a low miles example like this.

Paint

The only colour choice for a Ferrari has to be "Rosso Corsa Red", and the paintwork looks fantastic. The car has recently had a full detail costing over ~£1,400 to remove any swirl marks which had accumulated over the years. Now polished, every panel has a deep glossy shine to it, with no noticeable swirl marks that we could see.

The images taken are from various angles and reflections to show off this stunning Ferrari F355 Spider at its absolute best, as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

The windows all present in excellent condition, as are the trims around the windows. We haven't noticed any scratches to mention to any of the glass. The rear plastic window is also looking excellent, with no creasing or discolouration noticed. Have a look at the photo gallery to examine the glass and trim for yourselves.

Pop up those ultra-cool headlights, and you will see they are in excellent order with no chips to mention, or to the low down fog lights, and the same can be said for the classic Ferrari quad taillights.

Interior

The finest Nappa leather is hand-stitched onto the F355 seats, which is just a small part of this beautiful cabin.

Seats and Carpets

The seats are finished in black Nappa leather, which is in excellent condition, having only covered ~24,032 miles. There is just a tiny wear mark on the edge of the bolster, which could easily be touched in. The door cards are also in good order, with no marks or scuffs to mention.

The carpets are all looking excellent, with no wear to be seen on our visit. There is also a set of genuine mats included which are in good condition. Inside, the boot is also in good order, as you would expect with a well fitted and clean carpet. There is the complete Ferrari tool kit in place and also the tonneau cover for when the roof is down.

Dashboard

The dashboard is good, with no splits or cracks. Hasan informed us that the instruments are working as they should, with the engine showing good oil pressure and the odometer displaying ~24,032 miles.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel is original and covered in black leather, and this is in good condition with minimal signs of any wear. The prancing horse centre is clean and scratch-free.

Arguably the star of show, the open gated gear shifter shows the 1-6 plus R. There are some light scratches possibly caused by a ring at some point. Please see the interior gallery for more detailed images.

Mechanics

The mighty 3.5 litre V8 produces 375 of Italy's finest brake horsepower and 267lb-ft of torque, a naturally aspirated beauty.

Engine and Gearbox

The V8 engine is the finely tuned heart powering the fantastic F355, built from several lightweight materials, including titanium. Ferrari has created an engine that sounds better than an opera once opened up.

The car starts up nicely, as can be seen on our cold start video, and the underside is dry when looking under the car. The car has been given a service carried out by JCT600 Brooklands in December 2021, and since then, it has covered just ~11 miles.

The 6-speed manual gearbox changes gear perfectly through the gated shifter, and no untoward noises are coming from the transmission. Watch the video to see for yourself.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension in the F355 can be altered at the touch of a button, which will adjust the damping. As a result, the car rides exceptionally well for a sports car on our not so friendly sports car roads. The F355 soaks up the bumps well and is not crashy on uneven roads.

The brakes are working as they should, bringing it to a halt in a straight line. The callipers and discs look to be in good order with no excessive lip to the discs.

The Drive

What a car to be in! You will not be disappointed. It drives and handles as it should, there is power there when you need it, and that sound as the V8 comes alive is simply intoxicating!

Before the move to more electronically controlled Ferrari’s, the F355 was the last hand-built model and will bring enormous pleasure to whoever is driving it. Please take a look at our on the road video of the car out in Bradford.

Electrics and Other

Everything is working just as it should in the Ferrari with no issues to report. The switchgear is all in good order. The car does have an airbag fitted, we pray you never need it! To the left of the handbrake is a leather covered compartment which holds a pair of cotton Ferrari gloves.

History and Paperwork

Coming from California in 2015 - this stunning low mileage 1996 F355 Spider is perfect for any collector or enthusiast.

The Ferrari comes with several invoices showing in detail what parts have been fitted, going back to when the car was in California. It has had a new water pump fitted in 2014, which involved dropping the engine out. There is some other paperwork from when the car came to the UK and had the lights converted to suit the UK roads. As mentioned earlier, the latest service was completed just ~11 miles ago at the cost of £1,388.70.

Currently, there is no MOT on the F355, but the seller has reported that there will be a full MOT on the car when the auction ends.

This is a really exciting opportunity to own one of the last hand made Ferrari's, which is in outstanding condition and only ~24,032 miles. Perfectly timed for the coming summer months and ready to go.
