Introduction

The 355 F1 Spider - F1 technology meets open-air V8 exhilaration.
The 1994 Ferrari F355 marked a significant leap forward, ushering in an era of more balanced and higher-performing cars for the brand. As customers increasingly demanded greater usability and comfort alongside Ferrari's traditional values of passion and heritage, the F355's successful evolution into these areas - without sacrificing the brand's core essence - quickly made it Ferrari's best-selling model to date.
Styled by Pininfarina, the F355 debuted a new 3.5-litre, five-valve-per-cylinder engine. This high-revving unit featured a distinct, high-pitched scream at high RPMs, a direct reinforcement of Ferrari's Formula 1 pedigree. The model further cemented this motorsport connection with the groundbreaking 355 F1 version, which featured an electrohydraulic-operated automated manual paddle-shift transmission; a technology developed simultaneously for both the F1 race car and the production road car. With its soft top, the 355 F1 enhanced the exhilarating experience of a unique road machine with genuine racing technology.
This 1999 car is one of the last RHD 355 F1's to have been produced, this Spider presents a superb opportunity to acquire an ultra-low mileage 355. The car has been under the careful ownership of a Ferrari enthusiast for the last 16 years. The exterior is finished in Rosso Corsa, complemented by a Sabbia leather interior. The odometer currently shows 20,756 miles, supported by a comprehensive service record featuring 20 documented service stamps.
This example is equipped with a Challenge exhaust system, featuring removable baffle tips for decibel reduction if required. Additional factory options include Fiorano options such as cross drilled front brake discs and red callipers. Also fitted with carbon fibre kick plates and convenient SAE trickle charger socket in engine bay to connect Optimate or any other similar charger with SAE adaptor; and a space-saver style spare wheel. The car is supplied with red padded wallet containing owner’s manual and service book. Last serviced in November 2024.

This F355 is supplied with genuine red velvet Ferrari indoor car cover in good condition; plus high quality breathable outdoor cover with anti-theft locking cable which fits over red indoor cover if parked outside in bad weather.
This F355 also has an upgraded oil tank drainage solution. An invisible rubber plug just below the oil tank in undertray. This can save up to an hour off time for service. No need to remove and replace complete undertray to drain engine oil. Thus oil change can be performed quite quickly simply by jacking up the rear of car if drive-on workshop lift is not available. All special tools included.
This F355 has also been fitted with the famous uprated Hills Engineering timing belt tensioner and bearing kit thus improving reliability and extending the interval for timing belt service from 3 to 5 years or more under normal low mileage driving conditions; subject only to proper endoscope inspection every year during annual oil service operations. Vehicle should also be run up to normal oil temperature every month to maintain good belt flex and reliability of all other moving systems.
High value F355*** VRM may also be offered free of charge if buyer chooses Seller’s PD service option after close of auction. Any latent defects will also be replaced free of charge during this service; excluding only normal wear and tear and supplies for routine service operations specified by Ferrari. This option could give buyer many more years of trouble free pleasure following the past unbroken 12 year history of zero break-downs since first major service under present ownership.
Present mileage is well documented and fully guaranteed by seller.
Reminder for Winning Bidder:
This vehicle will be delivered with brand new fault free MOT in your name at top rated independent F355 sales and service dealer in Surrey.
Prior to delivery your car will also receive a free endoscope inspection of all critical components such as cambelts, SD clutch wear readings, CV boots, etc.
If service is recommended then buyer pays only for normal routine factory recommended service times and materials.
Note that Seller has fitted the world’s best uprated Hills Engineering timing belt tensioner kit (now only covered 1500 miles) so a low mileage careful owner need only think about changing cambelts every 5 years or more if they run the car up to normal oil temperature on the road once a month, plus expert endoscope belt inspection together with annual oil change and MOT.
Seller will supply any replacement parts to rectify any abnormal defects detected on this PD service; so for example if excess clutch wear is detected then Seller will supply new OEM PN I57754 clutch parts at MSRP £1,760 value FREE OF CHARGE so buyer can take home a very good car with many more years of trouble free motoring ahead.
Note that Seller can only assist with after sales technical issues if recommended services are carried out only by Seller recommended Ferrari service specialists who know this car best.

Can you confirm this is cat d 25/09/2008 as its not in the listing
All relevant history is in the history section.
Hi Brian,
Lovely car.
Can you clarify what you mean by “high value F355*** VRM may also be offered free of charge if buyer chooses Seller’s PD service option after close of auction” ?
Can you also explain what happened to the car for being a Categ D?
Many thanks
Hello Cid, Thanks for your interest. The VRM refers to a special vehicle registration mark which starts with characters F355 followed by other significant letters in the Ferrari vocabulary. The pd warranty service is necessary to qualify for all the benefits described in previous comment. The category D designation in 2008 was equivalent to category N today which is noted for minor non structural issues, theft or uneconomic legal disputes not recorded on V5C. There isn’t any damage detail recorded.
Hello Brian,
Thank you for your explanations.
Sorry if I missed that, is there a place where we can see all cambelt changes and intervals?
Noted the reg comes if the PD services are selected; are you an independant or Ferrari specialist to offer that? Is there more details you can share on the PD services you propose?
Thanks
Good Morning Cid, The high value VRM is being offered as an incentive roughly equivalent in value to a major PD service (including new belts) with the most experienced Ferrari 355 specialists in UK. That will give both of us the peace of mind that nothing has been left unchecked; and also by top third party specialist in addition to myself, as seller, ex dealer, and lifelong Ferrari specialist.
Good morning Brian , a very quick question .On the road test video we noticed a constant flashing red light , could you advise on this please. Thanks
Hi Robh, thanks for your interest. A flashing red light can be either a handbrake lever not completely down or occasionally the slow-down light from an over-sensitive cat controller or lambda sensor in exhaust manifold. Anything like that would be replaced FOC on your first service. Best wishes, Brian

Appligies Brian I see the documents your the sixth owner, the current regF355 is that staying with the car?
This is essentially a 3 owner car. The first owner, the second ownership was a short company ownership who transferred between directors thus recording 3 related transfers, and final owner for past 16-17 years. The F355 *** plate may be available as an option by separate agreement after sale is completed.
Hi Brian, low milage, are you the origional owner?
As per previous comment the vehicle has had essentially 3 active owners. Current ownership being almost the past 17 years. The mileage matching all service and MOT records and so I am happy to guarantee the present mileage as genuine beyond doubt.
