Introduction

Dom Ginn
Professional Consigner

One thrilling and refined Italian supercar, a beautifully sculpted aerodynamic body and planted mid-engined 3.6L V8.

Ferrari partnered with Alcoa to produce an entirely new all-aluminium space-frame chassis that was ~40% stiffer than its predecessor. The Pininfarina body design was ~28% lighter, despite a ~10% increase in overall dimensions. Along with a lightweight frame, the revised model is one of the most captivating designs. The 3.6L V8 engine generates a power output of ~395 BHP and achieves a 0-62 MPH time of ~4.5 seconds.

The Spider version of the Ferrari 360 features a fabric hood that folds down in ~20 seconds and is hidden under a rear deck with twin ‘speed humps’ that also conceal the roll-over hoops.

This example comes to market with ~30,350 miles on the clock with a current MOT valid until 30th July 2024 - the front wishbone bearings have been replaced in April 2024 as well as a full day detail, it's also had a recent service, including cam belts that was completed in August 2023. With 7 former keepers and 12 servicing stamps, the car has been fitted with a replacement clutch and flywheel, refreshed suspension, and new cam seals following its major service in 2020 under its previous ownership. Equipped with the F1 paddle shift auto gearbox and finished in classic Rosso Corsa red - it's a proper drivers' car.

This listing was written from information supplied by Dom after meeting Olly the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

I always been a fan of Ferrari, this car is a dream come true for me!

Having been a fan of performance cars for as long as he can remember, Olly has always admired fast motoring, he said, "Owning a Ferrari has been a great experience; the power and rapid acceleration are just breathtaking, and it's a truly beautiful piece of engineering".

The 360 Spider is everything a Ferrari should be - sporty, rapid, exquisitely built, and, of course, finished in Rosso Corsa Red, Olly went on to say, "I couldn't buy a car like this and not choose the classic colour for it; it has served me well, and I've enjoyed every minute of owning it".

With a new project on the horizon and less room at home for storage, the 360 Spider comes to market sooner than Olly had planned for, he said, "I know I'll regret selling it, but I need the extra space. I'm sure I'll keep an eye out for another model in the future".

Should any further questions be needed about the car, Olly would be happy to answer them in the comments section below.

Exterior

Still one of the best-looking Ferraris available today, with its attention-grabbing looks, curvaceous lines, and Pininfarina styling.

Wheels and Tyres

The 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, finished in silver with yellow centre caps, look great. The condition is in line with the limited use the car has seen, and we didn't spot any obvious signs of age or damage.

The wheels are fitted with Pirelli PZero Directionale and Asimmetrico tyres, which also appear to be in great condition too, dated from 2020 at the front and rear. The tyres show a good amount of tread remaining, with no visible concerns and a specification of 215/45 for the front and 275/40 for the rear.

For a more detailed view of the Ferrari's exterior and a closer inspection of the wheels and tyres, please refer to the photos and videos.

Bodywork

The bodywork of this Ferrari appears to be in excellent condition, with all the panel gaps around the car aligning very well. Both doors, engine cover, and the front boot open and close smoothly. During our visit, we didn't spot any obvious dents on the car; everything looks great, standing straight and no signs of corrosion were observed.

Stiffness in the 360 is provided through strengthened sills, floorpan, and a redesigned windscreen frame from previous models.

We have highlighted our observations in more detail through our high-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in Rosso Corsa red, the paint shows very well across the panels. We noticed a few minor stone chips on the front bumper, a slight mark on the offside front quarter above the headlight, and a small mark on the passenger door edge. However, you'd have to look closely to spot these.

Once again, we have captured high-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork and paint yourself. The images are taken from various angles to present the car as you would see it in person. Take the time to thoroughly evaluate these high-resolution images and videos to form your own opinion about the paint condition.

Glass and Trim

All the glass sections on the 360 Spider appeared to be in excellent condition, including the windscreen, side windows, and mirrors. The rear covering of the engine bay also presented very well, and we didn't observe any cracks or chips in these areas during our visit.

The window seals look great and are in line with the overall condition of the car. The black trim and window surrounds all appear to be in lovely condition.

Take a look through the exterior gallery and review video; we guide you across all the areas of the car, providing a virtual experience as if you were standing there yourself. This way, you can see in greater detail how the exterior of the car is presented.

Interior

A beautiful Crema leather, driver-focused interior - a perfect pairing for the Rosso Corsa exterior.

Seats and Carpets

The Crema leather seats with contrasting red stitching have held their shape very well, as you would expect for a car of this quality. We noted a few signs of creasing in the leathers, but nothing overly concerning.

Looking over the red carpets and floor mats shows a similar level of quality, with only minimal signs of wear noted under the mats. Please take a look at the interior gallery for a detailed view of the cabin.

Dashboard

The dashboard in this 360 Spider is in great condition, and we didn't note any concerning signs of wear. A lovely highlight was the contrasting red stitching on the black leather dash area.

The dials, switches, and controls are well-maintained; all the surfaces appear clear, with no fogging or scratching. The dash display functioned without issue, and everything worked as it should. We did not observe any issues with warning lights when starting the car from cold or during our road assessment.

A notable point was that the dash and centre console buttons showed no signs of sticking, which can be typical of these models. Our interior gallery section takes you through some closer images of the Ferrari's dashboard.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The original black Ferrari leather wheel is fitted and presents in good condition. The wheel is inset with contrasting red stitching. We noted a minor mark to the right-hand side of the wheel, but it's nothing overly concerning.

This car is fitted with the F1 auto gearbox, featuring minimal controls on the centre console and 'paddle shifters' behind the steering wheel, as tested in the review video. The paddle shifters show a little wear on the outer edge through use, but nothing concerning.

Mechanics

An incredibly powerful 3.6L V8, with 5 valves per cylinder, pushes out ~395 BHP to the rear wheels and achieves a 0-62 MPH time in just ~4.5 seconds.

Engine and Gearbox

The Spider has a high-revving engine that sounds superb when given a little throttle, it is fitted with the F1 paddle-shift gearbox, making changing gear very quick.

During our visit, we started the car from cold, and on the road the engine pulled nicely, idled smoothly, and ran without fault. This is to be expected given the mileage and servicing history, with this car last serviced in 2023 and under ~1,000 miles ago.

Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, driving around, and for a closer look underneath the 360 Spider, and the smart engine bay.

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no issues or significant knocks, bangs, or squeaks from the suspension. The brakes in the 360 Spider felt great, with no noticeable pulling or vibrations during the journey, allowing the car to quickly come to a smooth stop, meeting our expectations.

We cover the underside of the Ferrari in our 'Mechanical Gallery' section. Head over to our video section where we've summarized our visit in more detail for you to view for yourself. We take you around the mechanical elements of the car and give you an overview of what's on offer here.

The Drive

Ferrari is renowned as one of the best supercar manufacturers in the world, the 360 Spider offers handling that provides a great deal of driving entertainment while keeping the driver firmly planted to the road, thanks to its aerodynamics.

Track-tuned suspension, weight reduction, and power improvements make Ferrari’s mid-engine model something special. The incredible exhaust notes will put a smile on your face throughout your journey, yet it still offers remarkably smooth and fuss-free driving around town.

Electrics and Other

While we didn’t get to test all the electrics during our visit, Olly let us know that he's had no issues with the electrical elements on the car, and that everything is working, as you'd expect.

The Ferrari is supplied with 2 sets of keys and remote fobs, along with a Ferrari fabric key case. Also included is the original tan leather-bound logbook and branded tool case.

The Ferrari has also had a sports exhaust fitted in July 2021.

Take a look at the 'On the Road' video to see the convertible roof functioning without fault.

History and Paperwork

With just ~30,350 miles covered, 12 service stamps, and major servicing in 2020 covering a replacement clutch, flywheel, refreshed suspension, and new cam seals, this example is well worth a closer look.

The Ferrari comes to market with a clean bill of health on its last MOT, valid until 30th July 2024.

The 360 has had a full day detail and the lower front wishbone bearings have been replaced in April 2024.

The logbook is supplied with the car, showing that the Ferrari had its cam belts serviced in August 2023 - the car also comes with its Ferrari toolkit.

The 360 Spider has been serviced in June 2022, July 2021, May 2018, April 2017, February 2016, March 2015, April 2014, March 2011, June 2008, April 2006, and November 2004. Major servicing was carried out in July 2020, including clutch and flywheel replacement, renewed timing belt, and a refresh of the suspension, as detailed in the invoice under its previous ownership.

We’ve completed all our usual seller checks, including photo ID, V5, and an HPi check on the vehicle.

The final sale will not include the private number plates featured in the gallery images.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house. This is an auction on behalf of a trade seller and normal auction rules apply, i.e. there is no warranty, no return policy and bids are binding with more info in our terms and conditions.
