If you look on government MOT checker it states blue.
It was registered blue in March 1987 I know this because I was there when it was picked up from eckington motors ?
Hi, this is clearly a well kept and cherished car. When was the black waxoyl originally applied around the lower sills and vallances please? Also I can see what appears to be a bit of overspray around the windscreen rubber in way of the lower corner area on the passenger near side. When was any paintwork carried out to the car please as far as you know? Thanks in advance.

It was waxoyled from new every year until storage and regularly afterwards until the late 90s including inside the arches up behind the headlights.
The car was in a car park at stavely police station , someone sprayed brake fluid on the police cars and a few spots fell onto the bonnet.
At that point the bonnet was painted and the car put into storage.
Grandad then bought a second car to use .
The Capri was garaged every day from new and rarely if ever saw rain and definitely not driven in winter .
I would say that over half the miles were purely drives out on nice days after 1991 .
He retired April 1994 and always ran a second car with the Capri kept garaged.
Thanks for the reply Daniel. I’ve only just noticed though that the HPI report shown in the gallery states that the car was subject to colour change from red in 1993. Any idea why this is showing on the report please and is it correct?
Hi, I’ve only just noticed this too now you have bought it to my attention, the car has never changed colour from the original blue/silver I can assure you, we have family photos around the date of purchase well before 1993 in the original colour, this is strange it’s obviously a mistake on the database somehow
Thanks for the quick reply. I even did my own hpi check 10 minutes ago and its definitely down as a colour change on the 1st May 1993 from red. Its a strange one but not unheard of for the database to be incorrect at some point. Thanks again for the rapid reply.
Hi, sorry about this but hand on heart it’s never had a colour change, even if you look back on the original mot certificates from before 1993 during and after it’s always been noted as blue so I’m unsure why the hpi says different and I can confirm is definitely incorrect.
