The Ford Sierra first came to market in 1982 designed as a large family car for European market, it was powered by a range of engines, this one featuring the large 2,792cc Cologne OHV V6 and an all-wheel-drive system.
The XR4x4 I was a derivative of the XR4i having two viscous differentials with two-thirds of the being power sent to the rear wheels, the car also received unique alloys. The 4x4 drive allowed for an extra margin of safety on slick or snowy roads, ideal for mountainous areas of Europe. The engine used the same Bosch K-Jetronic injection system as the Granada and Capri.
This example has hardly seen any use over the previous few years, after being tucked away in Johns garage. He purchased the car 32 years ago and has only put around ~20,000 on the clock on short journeys and days out. He's reported to start it regularly and always had the XR4x4 under a strict maintenance routine, MOT'd once a year along with his other collection of cars and farming machinery.

Hi Jon can you shine a bit more light on the mileage Discrepancy please as to what happened? As it had any previous welding ect
The mileage is genuine. I’ve only driven it to and from the testing station in recent years. As to the welding there are two small spots in front of each back wheel which were done to stop any further trouble of rust spreading.

Hello John, I absolutely loved the trip down memory lane viewing your wonderful XR4x4. I remember them well. I wouldn’t normally message in this way as I couldn’t possibly purchase your car but you mention the need for another 4WD but more modern. I have an exemplary Volvo XC90 I am preparing to sell. I would love to see it go to someone that would enjoy it for its strong points. Massive comfort and Swedish reliability.
