The perfect ratio of muscle with efficiency, the 6th Ford Mustang still packs that visual punch and comes fully equipped with a high tech cabin.

This is the sixth generation Mustang (S550) and the current iteration of the Mustang pony car by Ford. The sixth-gen includes fully independent rear suspension on all models, this example is the 2.3L EcoBoost, direct-injected four-cylinder engine.

The car features the famous "tri-bar" style headlights. The Mustang also incorporates "signature lighting" in the form of three illuminated "light bars" located on the inner portion of each headlight, reminiscent of the front-end fascia found on the 1st generation Mustang.

After 4 years of ownership, this "Triple Yellow" Mustang is coming to market. It's recently been serviced, and the practicality of the Ecoboost engine make it an interesting and different proposition compared to the 5.0L V8.

The Ford Mustang has a rich history, It has always been my favourite car.

Azim mentions "From Steve McQueen to Gone in 60 seconds! It’s always been a headliner. I searched around and came across this Mustang in yellow and had to have it!". He goes on to tell us people often stop him when he travels in the car, it receives a lot of positive attention.

Azim mentions the previous owner has fitted some modifications; Racing stripes, a cold start-up kit and a filter replaced to increase that exhaust roar. He has had a lot of fun in this mustang over the previous 4 years and is now looking to settle down and fund future investments. The iconic Pony car, the heritage is still present in design cues to this day.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with Ford Mustang EcoBoost 19" alloys the wheels are finished in black gloss all around. The wheels present in used condition, showing signs of curbing, most noticeable on the rears.

Azim reports the wheels are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero's dated 2018, and still showing a good amount of tread on each tyre. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the wheels and tyres.

Bodywork

The bodywork of this Mustang looks in good condition, with all the panel gaps around the car look to align as they should.

During our visit we didn't spot any obvious major dinks down the flanks of the car, being picky, we did notice a very small mark on the nearside side skirt and the wing mirror.

We have taken hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in an iconic 'Triple Yellow', it's a colour that suits the muscular shape of this Pony car.

The paint appeared in good condition on our visit, it looked even coverage and colour across each panel on a sunny day. The exterior does have some scuffs and chips to the paint, the type of thing you'd expect that comes with use.

Again, please take time to review all the images and videos showing the paint from different angles and reflections, to assess the condition for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this example looks good, we didn't notice any chips, cracks, or discolouration on our visit. The window seals look good too and in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The black vinyl racing stripes across the length of the car would benefit from being replaced we think, some tears have begun to appear, and cracking to the front windscreen decals.

Interior

A surprisingly practical cabin, with functional yet stylish switchgear, and lots of equipment as standard.

Seats and Carpets

Fitted with black leather sports seats, they offer comfort and support, the deep bolsters help to keep you in place when putting the car through its paces around corners. Both the front and back seats present in great condition.

The black carpets appear in great condition too with no major wear to note. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a closer look at the seats, carpets, headlining and door cards.

Dashboard

The dashboard is wrapped in black leather with two round dials nodding to the first-generation Mustang, they appear in great condition and are easily legible.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Fitted with a black leather steering wheel, with multi-functional controls, the wheel presents in line with the rest of the condition of the car.

The manual gear stick is also in good order with no noticeable marks to mention. Please take a look at the interior photos and videos to appreciate and get a feel for the interior.

Mechanics

With ~313BHP to tap into, the 2.3L Ecoboost is not to be sniffed at and provides more than enough power to the rear wheels.

Engine and Gearbox

The sixth-generation Mustang offers up this 2.3L EcoBoost turbocharged, direct-injected four-cylinder engine, offering the driver the perfect blend of power and efficiency.

Azim reports the Mustang is fitted with a cold start-up kit and a filter replaced to increase that exhaust roar. He reports that both the gearbox and engine are smooth in operation, watch the mechanical video to see it in action, where we start the car from cold, take it for a short drive, and capture a detailed view of the engine bay and underneath the car.

Suspension and Brakes

The sixth gen includes fully independent rear suspension on all models. Azim reports a very enjoyable, comfortable, yet firm ride in the Mustang, with suspension providing support where it should and prompt powerful stopping power from the brakes.

The Drive

Finished with muscular body lines and a turbocharged 2.3L inline-4 under the bonnet, this car has a lot to offer. It's the perfect blend of economy with performance, cruise around town or blast it on the track.

Electrics and Other

Standard features for this Ford Mustang include; proximity key entry with door-mounted touch sensors and keyless entry, push-button start system, an A/M-F/M stereo with single-disc CD/MP3 player, colour LCD display, the Ford SYNC System with Bluetooth, A2DP wireless stereo audio streaming, USB/iPod, aux audio input jacks, a cluster-mounted central colour LCD driver's screen, ETCS, ESCS, ABS, SRS airbags, and a rear backup camera system.
