Fully customised one-off Captain America Harley Davidson created by Speed & Custom.

The Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is a heavyweight cruiser which combines classic styling and modern engineering. Powered by a 1584cc V-Twin engine, the Harley delivers strong low-end torque with a relaxed riding experience, perfect for long-distance cruising.

This particular bike started of life as a 2009 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, in 2014 it was fully stripped down and was fully re fabricated and customised by Shaw Speed & Customs to create a unique one-off machine at a cost of approximately £75k. The client gave principal Steven Willis free rein with the design process, allowing him to fully go to town and create the ultimate superhero tribute bike.

The bike still has 10 months warranty on the bike through a Harley Davidson dealership.

If the opportunity arises to own a unique one-off piece of art and you're in a position to afford it, you will most certainly take the leap. This is exactly what Paul did - the owner of this one-off custom-made Captain America Harley-Davidson. As with the previous keepers, the bike has been used more as a piece of art rather than being ridden.

A fully customised Softail Fat Boy with a Captain America patina paint scheme – does it get any better?

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with Performance Machine Judge alloy wheels, these are 21-inch at the front and 18-inch at the rear. The five-spoke wheels have been fully machined and left with a brushed finish, in keeping with the bike's theme.

A set of Metzeler Marathon tyres has been used on the Captain America, which are 120/70/R21 on the front and a whopping 240/40/R21 on the rear.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

Frame, Fairing & Tank

The bodywork on the Captain America Harley Davidson is in superb condition, with no damage or dings noted anywhere.

The fuel tank is an RSD Vintage-style tank complete with an RSD fuel cap. A Phattail conversion kit has been fitted, and to encapsulate the huge rear tyre is a custom-made hugger which sits perfectly.

Paint

This is where the bike really does come into its own. A totally unique finish, giving a look of patina, was the chosen design applied all over the Harley, and the result, we think you’ll agree, is absolutely stunning.

Glass and Trim

The offset headlight has been painted in gloss black with a silver patina finish to the grille.

Front indicators have been mounted to the underside of the handlebars for a subtly hidden look, and the rears are mounted just in front of the rear wheel, again not so obvious.

The rear light is mounted in a custom enclosure that complements the styling.

Fully machined controls give the Harley a properly engineered feel.

Seat

The sprung, brown leather seat is a custom-trimmed RSD Vintage seat, which has an American-style flag embossed into it with a slight patina look.

We've captured high-resolution photos of the Captain America. This covers off the angles over the seating and main frame area for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here.

Clocks and Gauges

The instruments have been cleverly crafted into the headlight bowl.

This Motogadget dot-matrix display is in excellent condition and can cycle between time, mph and mileage, showing that ~281 miles have been covered.

There does appear to have been a mileage change when looking at the MOT history which shows in 2015 the mileage was ~1,428.

Handlebars and Grips

The custom-made handlebar is perfectly set up to provide the ideal riding position.

Performance Machine alloy levers and grips have been used, with Renthal rubbers as grips - these are both in excellent condition, with no signs of heavy use.

Mechanics

An iconic 1584cc V-Twin is the perfect engine for any superhero’s steed.

Engine and Gearbox

Fitted with a fully rebuilt 1584cc V-Twin engine, this features Performance Machine and RSD engine cases, a Performance Machine air filter, and an open primary cover with Avenger detailing on the drive belt. The bike fires up at the push of a button, without hesitation, and sounds fantastic thanks to the Vance & Hines 2-into-1 Competition Series exhaust.

Performance Machine controls have been used as the gear selector, and a single-sided sprocket conversion has been fitted, retaining the classic Harley-Davidson belt drive.

Suspension and Brakes

Replacing the standard hydraulic fork setup to improve the aesthetics with a classic vintage look is a Springer fork conversion.

Performance Machine brake calipers have been fitted to the front and rear; these are finished in anodised red to match other parts on the bike and work as you would expect, bringing the Harley to a stop quickly.

The Ride

The Captain America Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Boy is all about laid-back power and, of course, huge presence. The big V-twin engine delivers a deep, rhythmic rumble as you roll on the throttle, while the low seat position makes it feel planted and comfortable on long cruises. Its custom-made wheels and chunky stance give it a muscular, unmistakable look, and on the road, it’s less about speed and more about soaking up the ride – steady, confident, and full of classic Harley character with a superhero twist.

Electrics and Other

With a completely custom-made wiring loom and switchgear, everything is there for a reason and is all working as it should.

The bike comes with two fobs that enable ignition activation from a certain distance, after which it can be started.

History and Paperwork

Built as a one-off, the Captain America Harley is still in like-new condition.

The V5C shows just two former keepers have had the pleasure of owning this custom-made Harley-Davidson. The bike has a current MOT which is valid until 12th March 2027, making it ready to jump on and enjoy.

What a fantastic opportunity to own a one-off, custom-made, stunning creation, perfect for any budding superhero or Harley-Davidson fan.
