***RESERVE MET*** The car will be sold to the high bidder this evening.
Good afternoon, would I be right in thinking, it’s a 2+2?
It is a 2+2 with a Webasto roof
Afternoon Chris,
A couple of questions please.
1) Do you know what actual ‘renovation’ work was carried out ( eg floors, sills , welding etc)
2) The comprehensive photographs seem to show a colour difference between the bonnet and the rest of the car- any idea why ?
3) There’s some paint blistering on the rear n/s roof pillar by the tailgate- is this a new thing?
4) one last one! – on the ‘cold start’ video, I notice the electric cooling fans came on straight away- not sure they’re meant to from cold.?
Thank you in advance.
Roger.
Hi Roger. I don’t know the full renovation history but was led to believe it was essentially on the engine etc. I took a car specialist with me to look at it and he said it was the best underneath he had seen on an E type.
The colour difference must be distortion in the pics. It is a uniform colour throughout.
That minor blistering is unchanged over the last few years. It hasn’t progressed and I haven’t chased it.
I seem to remember about 15 years ago having fan problems and they changed the wiring to come on all the time or earlier than before. The car was fully cold on the video with full choke!
Chris
Can you please tell me what the underneath of the car is like as not too clear from the videos etc. Has there been any welding or seams open at any point or undue dinks/bumps from the awful uk roads? Thanks for your detailed reply.
The underneath is good and clean. I am not aware of any dinks or weaknesses. I have not required any welding on the car and it has been stored in the dry below ground for over 10 years.
hi I am very interested, could you comment on picture number 75 and 76 it appears to show some rust but I can’t figure out if thats a natural join or if it’s a split along a sill?
There is no significant rust in that area that I am aware of. Chris
*** RESERVE LOWERED ***
Chris has decided to lower the reserve so the highest bidder is more likely to win the E-Type tomorrow night, good luck!
Thanks,
Colin.

Hi Alan,
We can help arrange a viewing for you, if you could send an email to [email protected], we just need to do some checks first.
Thanks,
Colin.
HI Please could you clarify the mileage since the last MOT in 2024 which was 69,786 ? It appears it has only done 8 miles in 2 years ? Thank you Alan
I have only taken the car out for MOTs these last few years. I don’t really drive it in London any more. It is stored underground and kept dry.
very nice
