Introduction

Ashley Dawson
Professional Consigner

Elegant, understated and effortlessly powerful, the Jaguar XKR remains one of the finest grand tourers of its era - combining timeless British styling with the performance of a supercharged V8.

The X100-generation XKR offered the perfect balance of luxury, speed and everyday usability. This 2000 Jaguar XKR Convertible is a beautifully preserved example, finished in the stunning Seafrost Green with a cream leather interior and presented in completely original, unmodified condition.

A genuine two-owner car, this XKR has been cherished by its current owner Adrian for the past 20 years and has been dry stored every winter, never driven in the rain and maintained regardless of cost. Complete with its original Jaguar handbooks, sat nav instructions, Jaguar dust cover, full service history and extensive MOT records, this is an exceptional opportunity to own a highly original and properly cared-for modern classic.

This listing was written from information supplied by Ashley after meeting Adrian the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

I never thought I’d be selling this car - it has been a passion of mine for the last 20 years and something I have genuinely loved owning,

Adrian has always had classic and sports cars since he was 17, which was over 60 years ago ago now, including three Morgans, an MGA Twin Cam and most recently a 1949 MG TC. After selling the MG, he wanted something that still offered style, quality and performance, but with a little more reliability and practicality for summer use.

When Adrian went to view this one-owner Jaguar XKR in 2006, he knew immediately it was the car for him. It was beautiful, in pristine condition and finished in what he still believed is the best Jaguar colour, Seafrost Green.

During his 20 years of ownership, the car has always been dry stored every winter and has never been driven in the rain. It has remained completely unmodified and has only required annual servicing, MOTs and sensible maintenance including four new tyres, new fuel pumps, replacement hood hydraulics and a new battery over recent years.

The car comes complete with its original Jaguar handbook, sat nav instructions, Jaguar dust cover, service record and all original Jaguar wallets, alongside full service history from both main dealers and independent specialists, plus all MOTs to help verify mileage.

The car has even been used to take both of his grandchildren to their College Leavers’ Balls. Adrian is reluctantly selling now due to health reasons and would love to see it go to someone who will enjoy and care for it as much as he has.

Adrian will be happy to answer any questions in the comments section below.

Exterior

The Jaguar XKR is one of those designs that has aged beautifully, with elegant flowing lines, subtle aggression and the perfect proportions for a true grand tourer.

Wheels and Tyres

The car sits on its original Jaguar alloy wheels, which suit the shape and character of the XKR perfectly and maintain its factory-correct appearance. They present very well and complement the understated elegance of the car.

Four new tyres were fitted approximately three years ago and have covered around 4,000 miles since, leaving them in excellent condition.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

image

Bodywork

The bodywork remains in excellent condition and reflects the careful ownership this car has enjoyed over the past two decades. The panels present straight with strong shut lines throughout, while the iconic long bonnet, sweeping flanks and elegant rear proportions still make the XKR one of Jaguar’s most attractive modern classics.

The powered convertible hood also operates exactly as it should, with the hydraulic system replaced approximately three years ago for added peace of mind.

We've highlighted in more detail our observations through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take time to look through all the media files for a detailed view at what’s on offer, and for you to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

Finished in what many consider to be one of Jaguar’s finest colours, Seafrost Green gives this XKR a real sense of occasion. It offers a subtle but distinctive look that perfectly suits the car’s luxury grand touring character.

The paintwork presents beautifully and has clearly benefited from careful ownership, proper storage and fair-weather use only, helping preserve its deep shine and overall finish.

Pictured on the front bumper driver's side is a scratch that is the only main thing to point out - an overall great car

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there for yourselves. So please take the time to fully assess these hi-resolution images and videos of the car, for you to make up your own minds about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The exterior trim, brightwork and detailing all remain in excellent order, helping maintain the premium feel expected of a Jaguar flagship convertible.

The glass presents well throughout, while the chrome and surrounding trim continue to complement the elegant design.

Please view the photos and video below to review the condition of the glass and trim for yourself.

image

Interior

The interior of the XKR delivers exactly what you would expect from a Jaguar grand tourer, luxury, comfort and a real sense of occasion every time you step inside.

Seats and Carpets

The cream leather seats remain in excellent condition and have been very well cared for throughout ownership, showing minimal wear and maintaining the soft, luxurious feel expected from a flagship Jaguar.

Both comfort and support are excellent, making the XKR just as enjoyable on longer journeys as it is on shorter summer drives. The carpets also present beautifully and help complete the clean, well-preserved feel of the cabin.

Please take a look at the photos and video below to decide on the condition of the seats and carpets for yourself.

image

Dashboard

The dashboard is beautifully finished with classic wood veneer trims, giving the cabin a timeless and unmistakably British luxury feel.

The layout is clean, elegant and driver-focused, with everything exactly where it should be.

Adrian assured us everything is in working order at the time of the visit.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The leather and wood steering wheel remains in excellent condition and perfectly suits the character of the car, offering both comfort and that traditional Jaguar sense of craftsmanship.

The automatic gear selector and surrounding trim also present very well, with the wood detailing continuing through the centre console to create a refined and cohesive cabin environment.

image

Mechanics

Under the bonnet sits Jaguar’s superb supercharged 4.0-litre V8, delivering the perfect balance of refinement, effortless performance and grand touring comfort.

Engine and Gearbox

The supercharged V8 provides strong performance with effortless power delivery, making the XKR equally at home on relaxed summer drives or longer touring journeys. Paired with the smooth automatic gearbox, the car offers exactly the kind of refined driving experience Jaguar intended.

The car remains completely unmodified and has been carefully maintained throughout the current owner’s 20-year ownership. Alongside annual servicing and MOTs, sensible maintenance has included new fuel pumps approximately four years ago, replacement hood hydraulics around three years ago, a new battery approximately four years ago and four new tyres fitted around three years ago. With full service history from both main dealers and independent specialists, it is clear this XKR has been looked after properly throughout its life.

No unwanted noises came from the engine or gearbox, which is shown on the cold start video and the "on the road" video.

image

Suspension and Brakes

The XKR delivers the kind of ride quality you would expect from a proper Jaguar grand tourer, smooth, composed and comfortable, while still feeling planted and confident on the road. The suspension offers an excellent balance between refinement and handling, making the car just as capable on longer journeys as it is on relaxed weekend drives.

The braking performance remains strong and reassuring, giving the car the stopping power to match the performance of the supercharged V8.

image

The Drive

This is a car that feels special every time you get behind the wheel. With the roof down, the supercharged V8 delivers effortless performance alongside genuine comfort and refinement, making every journey feel like an occasion. It can be calm and relaxed when cruising, yet still offers plenty of power when asked, which is exactly what makes the XKR such a superb grand tourer.

It is fast without being aggressive, luxurious without feeling overly delicate and practical enough to be genuinely usable.

image

Electrics and Other

All major functions operate exactly as they should, including the powered convertible roof, which benefits from replacement hood hydraulics.

Adrian added that all electrics are in working order.

History and Paperwork

This Jaguar XKR is a genuine two-owner example, with the current owner Adrian having cherished the car for the past 20 years.

The car comes complete with its original Jaguar handbook, sat nav instructions, Jaguar dust cover, service record and all original Jaguar wallets, along with full service history from both main dealers and independent specialists. All MOT certificates are also present, helping to verify the mileage and long-term care the car has received. With only sensible maintenance carried out over the years and no unnecessary modifications, this is a beautifully preserved example of one of Jaguar’s finest modern grand tourers and a rare opportunity to purchase a truly cherished XKR.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.

    Key Bidding Facts

    What is your reserve policy?

A reserve is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for their vehicle. We work closely with sellers to set realistic reserves that reflect current market values — we don’t take on vehicles with inflated or unrealistic expectations.

If the reserve isn’t met when the auction ends, we’ll work with the highest bidder to try and agree a deal with the seller.

Whether the reserve has been met may / may not be disclosed during the auction — just like a traditional auction house. Bidders usually find out if they’ve won only when the auction ends.

    As a guide:
    – If you’re able to place a second bid, the reserve hasn’t been met.
    – If you attempt to outbid yourself and the system blocks it, then the reserve has been met.

Why shouldn’t I leave bidding to the last minute?

Auto-Extending Bidding – we’ve developed auto-extending auctions that mimic traditional auction house bidding; it’s a key feature to make sure classic vehicles achieve their true worth. Bids placed in the last one minute automatically extend the auction by two further minutes. So there is no need to leave bidding to the last second.

Security – we operate higher levels of security, so you may need to enter further authorisations against your stored card after you select ‘Place Bid’. All this takes time and may mean you miss the end of the auction by the time the authorisation passes. To guarantee your bid, we recommend at least five minutes are active on the auction when you place your bid.

Network Connection – your device may lose connection and you’re not able to bid, or see the latest bidding history.
