The XK convertible offers intoxicating style and compelling power with a subtle nod to the brands racing heritage.

The second and final generation of XK (X150) debuted in 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, styled by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum. The grille was designed as a nod to the E-Type. The car was the first to feature a bonded and riveted aluminum chassis and body panels, therefore lighter than its predecessor; 91kg lighter to be precise.

This four-seater GT is ideal for touring and town use alike, with its charismatic V8 prowl. It's mated to a 6-speed ZF auto gearbox to distribute ~300BHP to the rear wheels. This example comes with low ownership and mileage, and a great amount of provenance too. Finished in a smart colourway and presenting in excellent condition, someone will be enjoying this next summer for sure.

Meet the owner

The XK takes my breath away, the V8 sounds incredible on the straights and I love the looks too.

Nick has been the owner of this XK for the past 8 months, after searching high and low for well kept example. He's enjoyed the car so much he feels like he wants to take his Jaguar ownership further and upgrade to the more powerful XK-RS.

Over his ownership he's carried out some upgrades, by replacing the convertible hood and applying some sports trim to the side skirts. He'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the car in the comments below.

One of Ian Callum's finest's, the XK offers timeless curves with a nod to the classic origins.

Wheels and Tyres

Fitted with the sports 20" alloys, the overall condition of the wheels are great. The paint and lacquer on the wheels along with the centre caps all look excellent, the only point to note is one small curb mark to the front offside which has been touched up.

Wrapped in premium Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres all around, the tyres look to have lots of tread and plenty of life left in them, dated 2015/16. Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the wheels and tyres.

Bodywork

The panels are straight throughout, with even panel gaps and a great fit across the car. We didn't observe any major areas of concern on the visit, just a very slight scuff to the rear bumper and some minor scratches to the rear nearside wing.

We have taken hi-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the bodywork for yourselves.

Paint

Finished in a deep black with a matching soft top (recently replaced). The finish of the paint has a great lustre along with even colour across each panel. We think a good mop and polish would really bring it the paintwork out to another level.

Again, please take time to review all the images and videos showing the paint from different angles and reflections, to assess the condition for yourselves.

Glass and Trim

The glass on this example looks great, we didn't notice any chips, cracks or discolouration on our visit. The window seals to look good and in line with the age and mileage of the car.

The convertible hood which has been recently replaced is in excellent condition too, a good fit when fully closed as you would expect. It was replaced as the rear window was coming away from the fabric as is common with these cars.

Interior

Sporting luxury - one elegant interior crafted with the finest materials and built to stand the test of time.

Seats and Carpets

Light cream leather seats which are electrically adjustable are fitted within this Jaguar, they contrast well against the black exterior, especially when the convertible roof is down. The seats appear in great condition, in line with the age and mileage of the car with no heavy signs of aging. The driver's seat has a few creases and very minor marks as you would expect from little use.

The carpets and mats have worn well, with the kickplates showing a little average wear.

Dashboard

A very clean and minimal layout that has stood the test of time with high-quality materials used throughout.

Nick reports all the gauges, dials, and electrical settings are working to his knowledge. Take a look at the photos and videos for a closer look at the interior.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

Both the gearstick and steering wheel are presented in great condition, in line with their age and mileage. The aluminium trim extends to the steering wheel on this example, a nice touch.

Mechanics

A growling 4.2L V8 is bolted to a very rigid chassis, these cars are more than capable at high speeds.

Engine and Gearbox

Featuring the 4.2L AJ-V8 Jaguar engine, mated to a ZF auto box this combination produces a very impressive ~300BHP for the driver to tap into.

We captured a mechanical video, the car starting from cold, and then settled and ticked over with no drama. Take a look to see on-the-road footage and hear the V8 purring away. Nick reports that the car goes through the gears as it should. Please take a look at the video and photographs of the very tidy and clean engine bay.

Suspension and Brakes

Nick reports a very enjoyable and smooth journey in the XK, with the suspension offering a firm yet comfortable ride.

The calipers have been painted red, the contrasting colour giving a sporting touch to the exterior. Visually the brake and suspension components appear to be in good condition.

The Drive

Ideal for the streets of Monaco, or the school run! The XK is a brilliant and versatile Gran Tourer that will appeal to many, with the luxurious cabin combined with ample performance from the drivetrain.

With ~300BHP on tap, when you open the floodgates this car really goes where you want it to.

Electrics and Other

With a range of luxurious electrical features such as HID headlights, front and rear parking sensors, full electrically adjustable seats, and an entertainment system, this XK is well equipped for any journey.

All the electrical items on the car are reported to be functional and fully working to Nick's knowledge.

History and Paperwork

Low ownership and mileage along with excellent main dealer service history, this is a cracking example of Jaguars XK.

The car is sold with only 1 previous owner to Nick, and a moderately low ~25,000 miles on the clock. The car has been well cared for over the previous years and serviced inline with the manufactors recommendation. Take a look at the history and paperwork media for a detailed view of the provance that comes with the car.

During the consignment the car was fitted with a personalised number plate which won't be coming with the car, it will be changed back to its original - 'RA56 WBT'.
