Effortless cruising with supercar power, the XKR convertible has it all.

The XKR offers the rare ability to grip like a supercar, with precision control, yet still retains the traditional virtues of a comfortable grand tourer. Benefitting from Jaguar's development of adaptive suspension, refined engine, and traction control system, the XKR maintains a calm demeanour while promising a blend of speed, refinement, and driver involvement.

Introduced in 2006, the second generation capitalised on the foundation created by the original XKR. Featuring a bonded and riveted aluminium chassis, the new XKR is stronger and lighter and with the introduction of the 5.0L supercharged V8 in 2007, it became the fastest XKR at the time.

In convertible form it has many subtle delights to complement the driving experience. Drop the roof down and get a little more exposure to the addictive bark of the V8 engine. Its sweeping styling and chiselled lines are balanced, elegant, with poise and confidence without looking overstated. Lavishly furnished inside, with stylish design touches, the cabin is sumptuous and inviting.

Fresh to market after over five and a half years with our vendor, this smartly presented 2010 Jaguar XKR has been enjoyed during the summer months and carefully SORN’d through the winters. Finished in elegant ‘Lunar Grey Mica’ over black leather, it shows just ~47,280 miles and boasts an impressive 14 service stamps.

Owned by a long-time Jaguar enthusiast who bought the car from the main dealer in 2020, it also comes with two keys and its full owner's wallet, has a clean MOT to August 2026 and was recently serviced.

David was very particular in finding the best XKR in the right trim and colour, and chose to buy a car through the Jaguar main dealer network back in 2020.

As an owner of several Jaguars in the past, David chose this XKR due to its excellent service history, options that suited him and of course the excellent condition.

Fast forward five years and the car is only being sold due to a recent lack of use.

Exterior

This XKR displays all the traits of a well-cared-for car - arguably one of the best on the market right now.

Wheels and Tyres

The 20” Nevis alloys are smartly presented with no significant marks or signs of age.

The front and rear of the car are fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tyres, with the front showing a spec of 255/35 and 285/30 to the rear - these are date coded from 2018, with the offside rear tyre dating from 2020. All have plenty of life left in them.

Bodywork

The exterior is clean with no discernible corrosion or panel damage.

The panels are flush to the body, and the shut lines are consistent.

All doors open and close without any obstructions.

The underside is solid; there is just some surface corrosion on both rear crossmember brackets, but we didn’t see anything untoward. The wheel wells, boot floor, and engine bay appear to be in excellent shape.

Paint

The 'Lunar Grey Mica' paint finish has a positive lustre with consistent coverage - it really looks good and suits the car perfectly.

As to be expected, and being picky, there are a handful of minor chips on the nose of the car, but none have penetrated beyond the top coat. The front bumper has a few hairline surface paint cracks to the lower left edge only visible upon close inspection.

We also spotted a little paint imperfection on the rear offside wheel arch lip, but the overall finish is well above the expectations of a car of this age.

Glass and Trim

The windscreen has a few minor surface chips, mainly on the passenger side - these are very small and of course not flagged as MOT advisories.

All of the seals are in excellent condition and the lights and lenses are in good shape, with no issues noted with the trim.

The bumpers are flush to the body; the lower nearside front corner of the bumper has minor paint cracks, but otherwise they are in excellent shape.

Interior

Furnished with quality materials, the interior is as sumptuous as it is smart.

Seats and Carpets

The black leather seats are in above average condition with negligible wear on the drivers seat bolster as befits a car that's been looked after.

The main carpets have been protected by the Jaguar embossed factory mats which are still in superb condition.

The boot trim and carpet suggest very little use.

Dashboard

The dashboard is in excellent condition, with no distracting marks or scuffs.

The leather padding also looks smart, with just minor marks noted on the centre console.

The facia is in good condition and the buttons and controls are positively presented, with everything works as it should. A valuable piano black and aluminium interior console and fascia set is included, these are new & never fitted expensive factory option parts which give the buyer an option to change the cabin appearance to suit. An image is provided in the history and paperwork section.

The headlining, door cards and cabin trim are in excellent condition too. The car is shown fitted with a genuine Jaguar accessory wind deflector, which is included, making conversation at motorway speeds ‘a breeze’.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The steering wheel and gear lever are in line with the rest of the interior and present well.

Mechanics

A regular servicing schedule adds confidence to the XKR's capable abilities.

Engine and Gearbox

There were no issues with the start-up process; the car fires up with no hesitation - the engine idled smoothly, with nothing more than mild cold engine condensation from the tail pipes.

The dashboard warning lights all remained off and the car was leak-free during our visit.

The engine is presented positively with decent hoses and ancillaries. Its condition reflects its keen service history.

The automatic gearbox operates with no faults.

Suspension and Brakes

The suspension is firm but smooth and comfortable - it absorbed the road with plenty of grip and no observations of thuds or creaks.

The car brakes confidently, free of wobbles or unwanted noises.

The Drive

The 5.0L supercharged V8 promises exhilarating performance and a sensational sound; there’s around 500 bhp waiting to be unleashed, yet its agility, balance into corners and comfortable ride make it a genuine pleasure to drive. For the money, there’s not much else that matches its talent.

Paul took us for a drive in the car, on behalf of David, demonstrating the car's ability to deal with urban roads with a few open stretches. The engine pulls smoothly, with no undulations or unwanted noises. It has linear acceleration and feels reassuring on the move.

Paul demonstrated the low-down torque and offered a gentle prod of the gas to show a glimpse of the power. It rides without any negative feedback, the steering is compliant with no play or wobbles and shows no signs of pulling when braking. There were no unwanted noises from the wheels at any point.

David has not experienced any issues with its oil pressure or engine temperature.

Electrics and Other

The hood operation is seamless, with no strains from the motors and provides a perfect seal.

The hood is in good condition, showing no signs of outdoor elements too.

If wood isn't your thing, then a spare aluminium facia trim set will also be included in the sale; these are straightforward to fit using easily available trim removal tools.

The car is fitted with Bowers and Wilkins premium sound system.

History and Paperwork

This fantastic example comes with an impressive service history, with almost a stamp every year since new.

First registered in March 2010, it was originally sold by Jaguar main dealer RA Creamer of Kensington. It has been serviced at a Jaguar main dealer since new, except for one independent service stamp at 26,883 miles, boasting an impressive total of 14 stamps in the service booklet; only missing one service, in 2016.

David bought the car from Guy Salmon Jaguar in Coventry in 2020, and it comes with its full owner's wallet and booklets, two keys and has an MOT until August 2026. It was last serviced in August 2025, only ~30 miles ago.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.
