Jaguar offers a haven for those wanting an alternative to the Porsche saturation, luring them away from Stuttgart with their impressive lineage and plenty of sporting experience. Even in its entry-level form, the F-Type has proven to be a rewarding experience, with a slightly more mature feel to its craftsmanship.

Offered with a variety of engines, the mid-range supercharged 3.0-litre V6 develops an energetic 335bhp and in S form comes with its active exhaust system and a limited-slip diff with a 380bhp. The V6 has the urge and soundtrack but it also feels relaxed on longer journeys. When first released to considerable fanfare in 2014, it was considered one of the most balanced designed cars of the era, and the Ian Callum-styled car has dated rather well as the car firmly enters the modern-classic arena.

Kitted with supportive leather seats, 19” alloys and a Meridian Surround sound system, this 2015 eight-speed quick shift automatic S model also features rather unique selling points - just 7,169 miles from new, documentation of a yearly service and a presentation that can only be described as excellent.

Max is dealing with the sale of the car on behalf of his uncle, who bought the car new. As a genuine petrolhead, Max considered the opportunity to buy the car for himself, but he prefers coupes and he feels it would be best to find a new home for the car.

Ordinarily kept under the cover of a garage, Max is also aware that he can’t protect the car from the elements in the same way his uncle did.

Excellent visuals with very little in terms of flaws, the car presents exceptionally well.

Wheels and Tyres

The 19” alloys are in perfect shape with a full set of its original Pirelli P-Zero tyres - all have plenty of legal tread.

Bodywork

The exterior presentation is excellent, with an almost blemish-free body - the underside looks good too with just some of the exposed underside components showing a little tarnishing.

The panel alignment is factory flush, with even shut lines and there are no issues with the opening and closing of doors.

Paint

The paint is in very good shape, with plenty of signs to support the owner's promise that it has been stored indoors when not in use. There are a handful of very minor surface marks and the odd light chip but nothing significant.

The lustre is excellent, with just some surface swirls noted in the sunlight - an appointment with a detailer for a simple 'mop and polish' will get this car looking like new without much effort.

Glass and Trim

We couldn’t spot any issues in terms of the condition of the glass or trim.

The bumpers are flush with the body with no significant scuffs.

The soft top is in excellent shape, with no distracting marks.

A near-perfect interior presentation - you could almost be sitting in a brand-new car.

Seats and Carpets

The seats, as to be expected are in excellent condition, with no wear or scuffs on the leather.

The carpets and mats are as new. The boot appears to have seen very little in terms of use.

Dashboard

The dashboard is close to immaculate, with no marks on the facia or centre console. The controls, dials and switches are in excellent order and all are said to work.

The door cards and headlining are blemish free.

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

There are no issues in terms of wear noted on the leather steering wheel and gear lever, both look as good as new.

Mechanics

An engine that loves to be revved hard - it's got to be one of the best-sounding modern V6s out there.

Engine and Gearbox

The cold start did not pose any issues, with no warning lights flagged up and the engine sweetly idling smoothly on tick-over.

The engine presentation is excellent, with a yearly service record to back it up.

The gearbox was proven to function perfectly.

No fluid leaks were noted on the day.

Suspension and Brakes

The sports suspension dealt with the urban roads and smoother sections without any issues, no knocks or rattles were heard coming from the wheels.

The visual presentation of the brakes are positive, and again flawless in their execution with no juddering or pulling to one side in use.

The Drive

Much of the drive was focused on urban roads, making docile but nimble progress in the London traffic. Manageable thanks to its direct steering and usable gearbox, it offers us an opportunity to admire its multi-faceted abilities.

However, we did manage to find a short stretch of road and were given a brief but pleasing demo of the V6 3.0-litre engine, the bellow and cackle of the engine were amplified by the exhaust button feature.

The car is very refined and felt solid with the roof down. The owner has not reported any mechanical issues with the car and has not experienced any form of oil pressure or engine temperature woes.

Electrics and Other

The car's electric roof function operated without any issues, with no strains or hesitation from the motors.

The retractable rear wing is also fully operational.

History and Paperwork

Yearly servicing since new ensures that the car runs perfectly, to complement its record of advisory-free MOTs.

Never more than a weekend car, its modest mileage is counterbalanced by its excellent servicing records, as the owner ensures that it at least saw a yearly service despite its tiny mileage. Naturally, nothing else has needed attention in terms of repair or replacement. The car has a clean MOT history, with no recorded advisories.

It comes with two keys, its original owner's wallet and booklets. The MOT is due in November 2023, meets the ULEZ emissions standards and comes with a Diamondbrite cleaning kit.
