Introduction

Alan Stuart
Professional Consigner and Photographer

Pure muscle wrapped up in a blend of elegance and aggression. A supercharged V6, all-wheel-drive grip, and a soundtrack that roars like only a Jaguar can.

The Jaguar 400 Sport is a limited-edition model that marked a turning point in the F-Type’s evolution. Introduced for just one model year making it one of the rarest F-Types, the 400 Sport celebrated Jaguar’s ongoing refinement of its modern sports car, sitting above the standard F-Type S and below the full-fledged R in both power and price - but offering much of the best of both worlds.

At its heart lies Jaguar’s proven 3.0-litre supercharged V6, uprated to ~395 BHP, paired with an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission and Jaguar’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system for year-round usability. The 400 Sport also received the Configurable Dynamics system, Super Performance braking package, and 20-inch Dark Grey wheels, along with subtle but distinctive styling cues including exclusive badging, unique stitching, and contrast detailing in satin grey and yellow accents.

Highly sought after, this model represents a special opportunity to own a limited-run F-Type that combines rarity, everyday usability, and the unmistakable drama of Jaguar’s modern design language - a future classic that perfectly captures the brand’s sporting spirit.

This example comes from ~7 months with its current owner, plenty of limited edition extras, 2 sets of keys and a current MOT valid until March 2026. The F-Type is currently fitted with personalised plates with a reg of S400 AWD, which is included as part of the final sale. Being 1 of only 204 AWD versions ever produced, this is a car for those on the look out for something really special.

This listing was written from information supplied by Alan after meeting Miles the keeper, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

The last of the true British sports cars - reliable, refined and fast all in one great looking package.

We met with Miles who is selling the car on behalf of his uncle, Miles told us about his experience with the Jaguar, saying, "The thing that attracts me most to this F-Type is the limited production numbers, how sleek it looks and it's aggressive appearance".

Driving the 400 Sport in Miles' eyes is a real experience, he said, "The looks and sound, it really is like music! I haven't been able to get enough of the F-Type since I've driven it and it's been such a joy to take out on the road".

With a new car already secured, the current owner doesn't have any extra space at home. Miles says, "With my uncle having already bought a replacement car, which is another step up from this, he just doesn't have room or time for both!"

Miles will be happy to answer any questions about the car in the comments section below.

Exterior

Sleek, sculpted aluminium, exclusive detailing and sporty elegance - this muscular, limited-edition F-Type looks every bit as fast as it feels.

Wheels and Tyres

The 20" 5-spoke alloy wheels, finished in dark grey, all appeared to be in great condition although the passenger side front wheel had some slight kerbing marks. Overall though, these presented well. Red Jaguar centre caps stood out well on the wheels.

The Jaguar is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres all round showing 255/35 at the front and 295/30 at the rear. The tyres are date coded from 2021 to the front and 2024 to the rear. There were no initial concerns on the tread remaining, although there was a slight nick out of the passenger side front tyre.

Please take a look at the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior of the F-Type and a closer look at the wheels and tyres to make your own assessment of their condition.

image

Bodywork

The Jaguar’s bodywork is in stunning condition; looking around the car, there are no apparent dings or dents that we noted on our visit. Being the 400 Sport version, the F-Type is equipped with a front spoiler and side skirts.

Door shut lines are visually equal and matching, as are the bonnet and boot. Both doors, bonnet and boot opened and closed well.

When we looked over the car, we didn't see any visual signs of corrosion or marks to the body panels, what you'd expect given the care this car has received over its life.

We've highlighted our observations in more detail through our hi-resolution images and videos, so please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

The paintwork on the F-Type has excellent coverage and quality across all the panels and is finished in "Ultimate Black". We didn't note any major concerns as the exterior of the car looked in great shape.

A ceramic coating was applied to the paintwork of the 400 Sport in May 2022.

The images are taken from a few different angles to show off the car as you would see it if you were standing there yourself. Please take the time to fully assess these high-resolution images and videos of the car to form your own opinion about the condition of the paint.

image

Glass and Trim

The glass and trim sections on the Jaguar were in brilliant condition, consistent with the car's age; we didn't notice any cracks or discolouration during our visit.

The rear and side windows all displayed really well and the windscreen also showed without issue, having been replaced by the current owner. The window seals looked great and showed no concerns, matching the rest of the car.

To the interior, the door cards presented in lovely condition and we saw no real concerns.

The LED front headlights and rear lights looked very well-maintained.

Badges and emblems are present and correct. The extra '400 Sport' detailing was an excellent highlight over the exterior.

We've taken you around the car in greater detail in our exterior review video, please take the time to look over the video and see how the glass and trim look from different perspectives.

image

Interior

Deep set, contrasting sports seats, brushed aluminium accents and premium materials - it’s a cabin built for those who crave control and style in equal measure.

Seats and Carpets

The 12 way, performance heated and cooled, electric seats are finished in black leather. The seats show very nicely and the detailed yellow stitching and '400 Sport' headrest inlays showed well with their unique styling. A very smart cabin indeed.

Looking over the carpet sections, the mats showed to be in great condition. Checking underneath these, the main floor sections showed without worry.

Over in the boot, this section showed no concerns and was clean, tidy and well presented.

We've captured high-resolution photos and a full interior video tour through the car. This covers off the angles inside the car for you to review and appreciate the condition of what's on offer here in our interior review section.

image

Dashboard

The smart black leather wrapped dash appeared in fantastic shape overall, with no cracks or splits. The yellow double stitching stood out well as a lovely touch of detail to the centre section.

Black dials with white needles looked excellent and were all functioning as expected. The odometer showed with ~44,537 miles at the time of our visit.

Gauges, controls and digital interfaces were functioning without concern when starting up the car and out on the road and all dial surfaces were free from fogging. The driver side heated seat dial had some minor surface marks.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The 400 Sport steering wheel looks in brilliant condition with the yellow inset stitching showing as a real highlight here.

Inline controls with paddle shift gearing were present on the wheel and offer phone and stereo functionality.

The smart metal gear selector didn't show any issues with its presentation and the surround looked in excellent shape too.

We've captured high-resolution photos for you to review and check over the condition of the interior in our gallery section.

image

Mechanics

Built to thrill before it even turns a wheel, the 3.0L supercharged V6 delivers an exhilarating ~395 BHP and 0-60 MPH in ~4.9 seconds.

Engine and Gearbox

The F-Type performed without issue when running and out, feeling tight and road sure during the drive. The switchable active exhaust system sounded fantastic when opening up the engine on the open road.

The auto gearbox worked through its paces without any problems. No issues noted here.

We took the car on a drive around some local roads with Miles to get a better feel for what this vehicle is all about. Take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting up and more detail in the engine bay.

image

Suspension and Brakes

We noted no knocks, bangs or other issues from the suspension when we were on the road, and it gave us no concerns in its performance or handling. Looking over the underside of the car we noted no issues during our visit.

The brakes felt to have no pull or vibrations that stood out to us when on the journey, and brought the car to a stop without a problem and with the kind of stopping power you'd expect from a car of this quality. The Jaguar is equipped with 400 Sport brake callipers.

Overall the car performed as to be expected with no concerns at all.

Please take a look over the mechanical videos and photographs to see close-up images from under the car.

The Drive

Behind the wheel of the 400 Sport, you’re instantly reminded that this isn’t just another sports car - it’s a pulse-quickening celebration of Jaguar’s racing soul. The supercharged V6 clears its throat with a growl and every surface around you feels purpose-built for driving pleasure.

Point it down an open stretch of road and the F-Type's all-wheel-drive system translates raw power into poise, gripping through corners with precision.

With its balanced chassis, and unmistakable presence, the Jaguar offers just the right blend of performance and refinement. It’s elegant, ferocious, and unapologetically alive - this is Jaguar performance distilled to its purest form.

image

Electrics and Other

The limited edition spec on the Jaguar shows the 400 Sport is equipped with 12 way, performance heated and cooled electric seats, 400 Sport brake callipers, yellow detail stitching and premium leather trim panels.

Also included in the spec are front and rear parking aids, a 400 Sport steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, sat nav, keyless entry, push button start, LED headlights, Meridian sound system, aluminium paddle shift, powered tailgate and switchable active exhaust.

We weren't able to fully test all of the functions when visiting the car, although Miles told us everything else was in working order as far as he was aware.

History and Paperwork

Well maintained, super rare and modest mileage to match its condition. The 400 Sport is built for those who want a little more from their driving experience.

The current owner has preferred to keep the car as it was from factory. With this in mind, and being largely original, the only part that has been changed on the Jaguar is the windscreen.

Servicing works competed in the past have included 2 new rear tyres and replacement parcel shelf trim in February 2025, new front discs, pads and sensor in August 2024, oil filter and oil change in June 2024, new fob key battery in December 2023 and a brake and transfer box oil renewal in May 2023.

The car hasn't needed any major work through Miles' uncles ownership although is now ideally due a service to keep its history. Miles lets us know that this can be carried out before collection should the future buyer so desire. The previous servicing was completed in August 2024 covering an oil and oil filter change.

Owners folio, guides and handbooks as well as 2 sets of keys are complete with the car.

The F-Type is currently fitted with personalised plates with a reg of S400 AWD, which is also included as part of the final sale.

We cover the history of the Jaguar in our paperwork gallery. Take a look over the previous records and MOT certificates to see more behind the F-Type.

We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.

We've summarised our own view on the car based on information gained from the seller in the listing above, however, and as you can see, we go to great lengths to photograph and video the car in hi-resolution detail - this has been done for you to make your own assessment from the comfort of your sofa. So please sit back, have a cuppa and take your time to review everything on this listing in order to make your own assessment on the vehicle's condition. Viewings are also welcomed with all our listings, so please get in touch with us to arrange a suitable time - we just need to speak to you first and receive a valid photo ID before confirming.

If there's anything you're unsure about, no matter how small, then please first ask the owner in the comments area below before placing your bid/s, as bids can't be retracted and form a binding contract if you win the car - just like a traditional auction house.
