Introduction

Jacob Boodrie
Professional Consigner

Blending luxury, capability, and effortless V8 performance, the L322 Range Rover remains one of the finest premium SUVs ever built.

Introduced in 2002, the third-generation Range Rover (L322) marked a significant step forward for Land Rover, combining the marque’s legendary off-road capability with a new level of luxury, refinement, and technology. Developed during BMW ownership before production transferred to Ford, the L322 benefited from premium engineering, sophisticated air suspension, and a beautifully appointed interior, quickly establishing itself as one of the finest luxury SUVs of its era. With commanding road presence and genuine all-terrain ability, it became the benchmark against which every luxury 4x4 would be measured.

This 2012 Range Rover Westminster represents one of the final and most desirable iterations of the L322. Powered by the refined 4.4-litre TDV8 engine producing over 300 BHP and paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, it delivers effortless performance alongside impressive long-distance comfort. The Westminster specification adds an array of premium features, making it a fitting send-off for one of Land Rover’s most celebrated models. Combining timeless styling, exceptional comfort, and renowned capability, the L322 remains a highly sought-after modern classic.

Phillip has thoroughly enjoyed owning this modern classic for the past ~12.5 years. He purchased the car when it was just two years old and has ensured it has been regularly serviced and MOT’d throughout his ownership.

The Range Rover has recently received a fresh service and MOT, leaving it ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

This listing was written from information supplied by Jacob after meeting Phillip the owner, and having visited and photographed the vehicle.

Meet the owner

Equally at home cruising the motorway or venturing off the beaten track, the Westminster delivers refinement and confidence in every journey.

Phillip has always had a soft spot for Range Rovers, and this TDV8 Westminster, finished in 'Santorini Black' with a 'Jet Black Oxford' leather interior, was the perfect choice. He has owned the car for around 12.5 years, during which time it has been carefully maintained and thoroughly enjoyed. Although it has covered higher motorway mileage, much of this has come from regular journeys between his homes in Devon and Harrogate.

The combination of the refined TDV8 engine, timeless Range Rover styling, and traditional craftsmanship makes this a particularly desirable example. Phillip has always ensured the car has been serviced, maintained, and enjoyed exactly as intended. He is now reducing his collection of cars for personal reasons and has decided to retain his more practical Discovery 4, with its larger boot, for regular motoring. As a result, he has made the decision to bring this Westminster to market with us.

You can find further information in the History and Paperwork section, and Phillip will be on hand in the comments to answer any questions you may have.

Exterior

With its commanding stance, timeless proportions, and unmistakable Range Rover styling, the L322 continues to set the benchmark for luxury SUVs.

Wheels and Tyres

This example is fitted with upgraded Autobiography alloy wheels, chosen by Phillip, which present in good overall condition. During our visit, we noted some wear to the centre caps, flaking to the front offside wheel, and light kerbing marks to the remaining wheels.

The wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Alenza tyres, dated 2024 and 2025, and appear to be in good visual condition, with a good amount of remaining tread and no visible cracking to the sidewalls.

Please take time to review the photos and videos for a detailed view of the exterior, wheels, and tyres so you can make your own assessment of their condition. Tyres are a key safety item, and you should consider replacing any that are cracked, perished, unevenly worn, or over 10 years old.

image

Bodywork

The bodywork presents in good overall condition, with panel gaps aligning visually well around the car.

As expected for a vehicle of this age and mileage, there are some minor age-related marks to note. These include a small area of corrosion to the nearside rear passenger door, along with the beginnings of corrosion around the upper rear tailgate surround on the leading edge.

We've provided more detailed observations through our high-resolution images and videos. Please take the time to look through all the media files for a detailed view of what’s on offer and to assess the condition of the car for yourselves.

image

Paint

Finished in timeless 'Santorini Black', the paintwork presents in fair to good condition, with consistent colour and coverage across all panels.

Reflecting its regular use, there are several cosmetic imperfections, including light scratches around the bodywork, scuffing to the front nearside corner of the bumper, and more noticeable scuffing to both corners of the rear bumper.

We think a professional machine polish would benefit the presentation of the paint.

Once again, we've captured high-resolution images and videos of the car for you to assess the condition of the paintwork for yourselves.

image

Glass and Trim

The glass is in good condition for the car’s age, and during our visit we did not notice any obvious cracks or discolouration.

The window seals appear to be in good condition and are consistent with the overall presentation of the vehicle. The door handles and window surrounds also present well.

We also noted a small crack to the front number plate, although this will be replaced when the vehicle receives its new registration prior to sale. In addition, the silver trim on the rear tailgate shows some fading and peeling, and there is a light scuff to the nearside rear light lens.

image

Interior

A beautifully appointed cabin, featuring premium leather, rich materials, and the comfort expected of a flagship Range Rover.

Seats and Carpets

The High Specification (10-way driver) heated and cooled 'Jet Black Oxford' leather seats have retained their shape well over the years.

As to be expected, we did note a small area of wear to the front driver’s seat back cushion and bolster. The dashboard features Jet Black leather, complemented by Morzine/Ivory trim throughout the cabin, with matching carpets and door cards.

The door cards and carpets present similarly, showing a consistent level of condition throughout the interior.

For a detailed view of the cabin, please take a look through the extensive media.

image

Dashboard

The dashboard presents well for its age, with no major damage or significant scuffs observed during our visit.

The odometer displayed ~187,972 miles at the time of consignment. When starting the car, the warning lights illuminated only while the driver’s door and bonnet were open, along with the low fuel warning light.

image

Steering Wheel / Gear Stick

The piano wood and black leather Land Rover steering wheel was in good condition and features paddle controls. This was an optional extra requested by Phillip when he purchased the car, having been sourced from the Autobiography specification.

The silver gear selector dial also presents well, with both items being consistent with the overall condition and presentation of the vehicle.

For a closer look, check out the image gallery to see the detail.

Mechanics

Powered by the smooth and capable 4.4-litre TDV8, delivering effortless performance, impressive refinement, and outstanding long-distance comfort.

Engine and Gearbox

The Range Rover Westminster is powered by Land Rover’s refined 4.4-litre TDV8 diesel engine, producing ~313 BHP and ~700 Nm of torque, paired with a smooth eight-speed automatic gearbox. This combination delivers effortless acceleration, impressive towing ability, and relaxed long-distance cruising, perfectly suited to the Range Rover’s luxury SUV character.

On the day of our visit, we started the car from cold and it performed well on the road - the TDV8 engine delivered strong, smooth power, idled cleanly, and ran as expected.

Phillip reports that the Range Rover starts from cold without issue and drives beautifully, with the smooth automatic gearbox delivering the V8 Twin Turbo power effortlessly.

Please take a look at the mechanical video to see the car starting from cold, being driven, and for a closer look underneath the Range Rover.

image

Suspension and Brakes

On the drive out, Phillip took us along some local roads. We heard no obvious knocks, bangs, or squeaks from the suspension, and the car performed as expected with no issues observed.

We cover the underside of the Range Rover in our “Mechanical” gallery section. Head over to our video section, where we have summarised our visit in more detail for you to view.

image

The Drive

The L322 Range Rover is renowned for combining genuine off-road capability with luxury refinement. The sophisticated air suspension provides a comfortable and composed ride, while the powerful TDV8 engine and capable four-wheel-drive system make it equally suited to motorway journeys, towing, and more challenging terrain. It remains one of the most complete luxury SUVs of its generation.

Take a look at the ‘On the Road’ video, where Phillip takes us for a short drive.

image

Electrics and Other

Phillip reports that everything is functional and operational, in line with the overall condition of the car.

Fitted in the cabin is a colour navigation system with a Euro Mapping DVD Disc and a TV, DAB radio, with a Harmon Kardon Logic 7 1200W speaker set up.
