Introduction
Darren Rungasamy
A touch of plushness and practicality in what is undoubtedly a sublime drivers machine.
The Lotus Evora marked a lucrative shift upmarket when the car was unveiled in 2008. It was Lotus' first all-new vehicle since the 1995 Elise, the Evora was designed to go beyond the famous Lotus traits of agility, performance and driver involvement. Targeting the German rivals, the Evora offered a usable and everyday solution with luggage space and refinement.
Noted for its excellent use of space in such a compact frame, the stiff and lightweight aluminium tub provided a rigid frame to allow the car to be developed into a whole new generation of Lotus models. The Evora is powered by the durable 3.5-litre Toyota V6 engine, which propelled the mid-engined 2 seater to 0-60 in 4.8 seconds.
This highly spec'd 2010 Evora in "Solar Yellow" comes to market after ~4.5 years ownership, it has black leather trim and been carefully maintained almost exclusively by Lotus main dealers. Fitted with the Premium and Sports packs, there are 8 service stamps, ~£7,000 worth of invoices and the Silverstone Stage One exhaust system. It comes with its owner's wallet, two keys and an MOT to March 2026.

Hi yes the car has not hardly been used since the last oil change. Recommend intervals are 10 thousand miles it’s probably only done 1200 since the last change. It’s always garaged so doesn’t get damp or anything like that. The amber light has only started coming up in the last couple of months and then goes out after about 1 to 2 minutes after starting. I haven’t investigated further as to why but put it down to a sensor or something minor on start up as it doesn’t come back on during driving only when cold and standing for a few days. It drives really well and pulls like hell in Sport mode through the gears. I hope that answers your question. Regards Harvey.
Hi Harvey. The car was last serviced by PJS over two years ago. Has the engine oil been changed since then?
Also does the spanner warning light come on every time the car is started and when did it first appear? This indicates what Lotus call a non essential fault. Unfortunately an OBD reader won’t pick up a fault code and would need a Lotus diagnostic tool to read the code.
Hi, was the air conditioning repaired as it stated in a report the condenser was falling apart?
Hi, nothing I am aware of, if this was reported before I purchased the car it may well be an old issue. When I purchased the car it had just had the clutch replaced of which is an engine out job involving; replacing the fluids and the air conditioning gas. It has always worked fine for me and still comes on when you press the button. It may well be worth checking with PJS cars if the condenser was replaced when the clutch was replaced or whenever it was highlighted. Thanks Harvey.
Thanks Harvey. Osmosis is micro blistering in the paint which appears as small bubbles and is quite common on Lotus’ like the Evora so thanks for confirming there isn’t any signs of this. Final question on body, are there any signs of scratches, hairline cracks, slight crazing or peeling in the headlight lenses? This is another common issue on Evoras which I’m aware of as had it on my last Evora. Thanks again.
Hi no crazing or cracks on the bodywork. The headlights also have no brittleness or flacking. Both work perfectly. Thanks Harvey.
Sorry I’ve just read your full question back, no scratches on the paintwork as fast as I can see. Kind regards Harvey.
Hi there. Can you tell me if there is any signs of osmosis on the body? I can see what appears to be a lump on the passenger side lower sill area just before the rear wheel. Can you confirm if this is osmosis and if there are any panels that have any blemishes? Also the drivers door looks out of alignment. Can you tell me if it opens and closes correctly? Thanks
Hi
I don’t quite understand what osmosis is however there isn’t any lump or bulging on the body or sill, no orange peel or paint peel. The car does have factory fitted clear stone protection film on the lower arches which can give the impression of a defect but it isn’t.
The drivers door opens and closes perfectly however I must admit it could probably do with some adjusting to make it line up perfectly.
I have no issues with locking, opening or closing the doors or boot.
There are minor stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet edge. In some lights the paintwork looks more yellow where from other angles it looks more yellow white. I’m just being really picky to be honest. A detailer would get it looked mint.
I hope this answers your questions.
Kind regards
Harvey.
